Agustin is the best massage therapist ever. I called on a Thursday and was able to get a next day appointment with a massage therapist. I arrived 10 minutes early to fill out the paperwork and was then seen by Agustin. He patiently listened to what ailed me(shooting pain in my shoulder blade, ongoing issues in my neck, traps, shoulders, upper back) and the sorts of treatments I had tried previously. After hearing my complaints, he suggested trigger point release, but warned me that it might be not that relaxing. I came to feel better, not relax, so he proceeded with a swedish massage. After he felt things out, he did some amazing release — a bit painful but he was responsive to my Unilocal and warned me when I needed to breathe deeply. An hour later I came out of that massage feeling better than I’ve felt in 1.5 years. He really listened to me and then felt around to discover the problems and then worked the heck out of them. He is magic! I wish I could see him on a regular basis — he is the best. I didn’t really get the sales pitch since I don’t live in Santa Barbara, but I did get the introductory rate so I’m incredibly happy with the value and the massage.

I don’t usually write reviews unless someone really irritates me. I’m a member and have been to various locations, this one is by far the worst. No wonder they’re open while the state street location is booked. I had to cancel due to being sick. I called well in advance to cancel as I did not want to make anyone else sick. Of course I had to leave a voicemail. At the time of my appointment I received a call saying that I would be charged for a no show. When I called back later I found out that I was being charged a fee for same day cancellation. I explained the situation to the girl on the phone, who said there was nothing she could do. I asked to speak with the manager who wasn’t there and even though I left my name and number I’m still waiting for that call 4 days later…

Worst experiences here! They hire the dumbest people to work the front which makes booking appointments a nightmare, and they never fail to mess every appointment up. The services are nothing special, you get what you pay for. I’d rather support a more local business and get the best massages with great service. Skip everything about this place, you will waste your time.

I wish i could take away stars. I have booked a massage on several separate occasions but have never actually had a service performed. Each time I received a voice message telling me they were unable to accommodate me because the therapist was sick, busy, etc. Each time I got the message when I was already in the lot. The last three times I asked to speak to the manager-but she was not available(and wouldn’t be for several days). Top it off, all three front desk people were rude and completely unconcerned about the situation. This place is a train wreck. I will never try to schedule a service here again.

I’m a massage therapist myself and thought I’d try out Massage Envy. I’d heard they take walk-ins so I asked for an immediate appt and it wasn’t available. So, I chose a therapist from the book they offer and signed up for an appt the following week. When I arrived, that therapist wasn’t there and I’d been assigned a different one. This guy ran his elbow up and down my spine, on the bone, and did sudden moves that caught me off guard. It was not relaxing. The move though, that caused me to write this review was atrocious. I was face down and he brought my arm up to the corner of the table and DROPPEDIT so it hit the face cradle. I figured it was a mistake, but he did the same thing to my other arm. This is an over view. I can’t say enough bad things about my experience there. I love the idea of getting massage to the masses, at a reasonable price, but not if this is the service they offer. Train your therapists!!!

This was my first experience at massage envy, and I was pleasantly surprised, as I usually tend to avoid the cookie-cutter massage chains. Anna was my therapist, and she was very sweet, calm, professional, and gave me an amazing massage. She took the time before to briefly go over what I was looking for; I asked for«light» to «moderate» pressure, as I was looking more to just unwind and relax. The pressure was spot on, and during the massage she ended up finding tension in muscles I didn’t even know I had, so I gave her the go ahead to increase the pressure and focus a bit more on those areas. Will definitely be asking for her again if I’m back in Goleta.

Horrible customer service and the owners only care about making money and not their clients.

Been a member since they opened in Goleta and I would highly recommend going there. This was my first time having a facial with the esthetician Alicia and I was very pleased with her professionalism. First, she was very quite throughout the whole session. She explained each application beforehand and I was pleased with the extraction process. I have made another appointment in two weeks. Yes, I had a great session!!!

I wouldn’t know how this location is. In the 4 months I have lived in the area, I have tried calling to book once a month, and they have answered the phone exactly ZERO times. This is the last month of my 12 month membership. I was going to keep it going, but what’s the point? I can’t even make an appointment. How hard is it to answer the phone? I hope the corporate higher ups see this, so they know that this location just lost them a lot of money. I would have been doing at least 2 massages a month for another year.

I have been going to this massage envy for over a year. Finally found a good masseuse — Alexis. She is very good and knowledgeable. I am however quitting my membership. I’ve just been frustrated because the rooms are always cold, and the 60 massages always end up being 45 min massage. They start 5 mins late, and end 10 mins early. So the value proposition just isn’t there anymore for me. On top of that there have been numerous instances where the appointment time doesnt get entered right, and they have called to cancel at least twice, which works out to something like 10 percent. I will instead employ a local massuese that will really give me a full hour in the comfort of my own home.

Beware: there’s about a 50⁄50 chance that your appointment will be entered in their computer system the way you are told on the phone. More often than not, my appointment scheduling is messed up. Some of the massage therapists are really good, but it’s not worth the hassle. And keep in mind that a «one hour» massage is really more like 45 minutes. I can’t wait til I can cancel my contract.

Be VERY careful as they have«lost» my appointment twice. Then they changed my appt from 90 to 60 min without telling me. Massage is good _some on the front desk are less so.

I had the absolute worst customer service at this massage envy from the front desk staff. They got my appointment time incorrect and did not do anything to rectify the situation. They were rude and not accommodating at all.

Advice to all: make sure to get there 15 minutes early, because there is paperwork to fill out to describe your pain, and medical history. I was unfortunately 15 minutes late, which meant my 1 hr massage was shortened to 30 minutes, basically. They are booked back to back and they are definitely a business type business, so don’t expect any slack. I feel like my massage would have been better if I was there on time, and I had been there before and was familiar with the masseuse. I hadn’t thought about it like this before, but a massage is very much a 2 way street. If they aren’t comfortable with you, they will be hesitant when they massage you, and if you’re not comfortable with them, you’ll never loosen up. My massage was a bit rushed and cut short, but I think if I got to stay longer it might have been a 5 star. This place definitely has the business side of things down. It’ seems like massages would be a super deal once you have a membership(I haven’t got one yet), and the sales process is not pushy at all in my experience. I had a discounted massage trial which is in place to lure in potential members and they had no problem explaining everything to me and then letting me go home to think about it.

My husband and I went to Massage Envy Spa for the first time. We have Massage Envy’s out here in Orange County, but we decided to get one in Goleta before a friend’s wedding. We had the 1 ½ hour massages. I had Fred and he was awesome! I wished he was out here in OC so i could go back to him. I had a massage before, but his massage was amazing. I felt so relaxed and loose, i was in heaven. My husband got a girl named Alyssa and he said that she didn’t seem to care to be there. Also, he didn’t get a head or foot massage. He was disappointed in her massage. They would get the whole 5 stars, but due to his massage, 4 will do. Also, the receptionist there was very nice and we chit chatted a little bit. I would recommoned going to this place and ask for«FRED» If i’m back in town for what ever reason, im definitely going back.
