Hunts Cycle Shack is one of those rare finds that if word got out how good they are, you would never be able to get an appointment to get your bike serviced. They are like that outstanding Chinese restaurant in China Town that is frumpy and grungy, but has the absolute best food. And it certainly is nice that their prices are always the best. I have been going to Hunts for years and they are 60 miles away from me. Sam and Gary are good, honest people. And they know their way around a Harley. They have been working on them for more years than they probably would like to admit. I love the fact that I can stay and watch as they service my bike. And I have never met a mechanic before who takes out a flashlight after the service and looks for anything that needs attention! I’m just not comfortable letting anyone else work on my bike. Way to go guys. You are the best.

A friend recommended Hunt’s for Harley accessories so when I needed a battery I called them. They came in 24 bucks cheaper than the local Harley dealer so I picked it up and came back to install it. The battery compartment on my Sportster is just big enough for the battery to slide into so when I got the cables attached I slid it to the back of the compartment and tried to close the cover. After several failed attempts I found that the new battery was both taller and wider than the one it replaced. I called Hunt’s and they said that they were sure it would fit if I installed it correctly so I tried again to maneuver it into place with no luck. They then said that if I brought the bike back that they would install it. The mechanic messed around with it for over an hour and finally said it was ready so I paid him the labor rate for his time and rode home. On the way I felt something poking my leg and looked down to find that the battery compartment cover had opened up and was hitting me in the leg. I have tried several times to get the cover to close but the tabs that hold it do not engage fully due to the oversized battery hanging out the side of the compartment. If you buy parts from Hunt’s be very careful that they fit or you’ll end up like me with duct tape holding your bike together. Thanks Hunt’s. You are all a bunch of Hunts.
