Excellent«hole in the wall» food. Cheap and clean. Service was quick. Staff was very friendly. I ordered the ground beef chimichanga and my husband ordered the shredded beef burrito. The menu is simple. The seating is outdoors. There were two 2-seaters and a sturdy plastic table for larger parties. It’s really a take out kind of place. But my husband and I enjoyed our outdoor dining experience. I would definitely come back, and even bring the kiddos too.

Amazing food; authentic. The chicken and rice soup is perfect, so nice and spicy. The burritos are also amazing, I would eat here everyday if I could. If you’re in the area, make sure you stop by and try the food!!!

Who would have thought such a small place can create such bold flavors. I used to go to Jimmy Changas on my lunch break and I remember the burritos being so good. I have since switched jobs and haven’t been back for several years until now. I was in town and decided to stop in for lunch. They haven’t changed a bit! Their authentic Mexican food is exceptional. This time however, I got one of the days specials: Salmon and Mango Salsa tacos. I was not disappointed one bit. The flavor was absolutely amazing and the salmon was exceptionally fresh. It came with rice and refried beans which were both bursting with flavor. I live in the area and I’m disappointed in myself for not going out of my way to try to go here more often. I won’t make that mistake again.

Taco Tuesday was a huge hit! Three extremely picky eaters– ages 4, 6&9 actually eating the same food for dinner!?! They loved it. Sometimes authentic mexican food is all you need! The food here is delicious and the staff is great!

no, they don’t have the beautiful painted walls, live guitarist, or mood lighting. but the food is more authentic, excellently priced, and consistently delicious than el bandidos. chicken taco meat is stewed to perfection. i wish i could just get a quart and eat it like a pint of ben and jerrys at three in the morning. summers you’ll find me outside on the plastic picnic table at lunchtime. not much of a difference in lunch and dinner portion size so far as i can tell, so go at lunch. i’m a cheap bastard and their fried burrito is about the size of a large-ish puppy. i love puppies. and i love mexican chicken tacos. wait… that didn’t come out right…

Since moving to New York I’ve had trouble finding west coast style Mexican food. Just when I had given up I stumbled upon Jimmy Changas. The smell as we walked up reminds me of the small California town I was from. Definitely worth a try!!!

Literally a hole in the wall. Great food. There’s no place to sit but the food is fresh and reasonable. If I worked in this area I would be here everyday for lunch. Hope these guys consider expanding in the area so you can sit and enjoy the food.

Fresh and fast! I wish they were open on Sundays. My family had an excellent meal this evening to celebrate cinco de mayo. It was busy and the food was great. I had shrimp tacos with mango and avocado. Woo hoo! We sat on the picnic table outside since it was warm out.

Lunch specials come with a drink for only $ 7.00! I love Jimmy Changas! The staff is friendly and courteous, they are a family run small business just trying to get by. They put pride in all the products they serve. There is not any place to sit and eat so please do not expect to eat in there. Otherwise Jimmy Changas in Goshen, NY is amazing!

Just ordered take out from here for the first time ever– Delicious! The carnitas and fish tacos(authentic style) are delicious and perfectly seasoned. The hot sauce/salsa that comes with it has a real kick and with the lime complements the carnitas and the fish very well. I’m downgrading one star because the guacamole on top of the chimichangas tasted *just a little* off, or maybe it’s made in large batches at the beginning of the day, or maybe the avocados used were simply overripe? We will return, and when we do I’ve got my eye on the tortas, the shrimp chimichanga(but I’ll hold the beans and guac), and of course I will definitely be ordering more tacos– the fish tacos definitely, and I’m looking forward to trying the carne asada.

Yesterday afternoon, I found myself with time to kill and a hunger for tacos. My friend who lives in Goshen recommended I stop by Jimmy Changas. Knowing I was having lunch alone, a takeaway establishment was my preferred option. I parked directly out front and was greeted with an abundance of mouthwatering aromas as I exited my car. Immediately, I thought to myself, in the words of David Byrne, «This must be the place.» I walked in through the front screen door, and was given the option of ordering from the specialized lunch menu or form their regular items. I chose the fish tacos platter authentic style, and a bottle of sweet jarritos. For 3 decent sized tacos, delicious fresh battered fish, refried beans, yellow rice, a cup of the hot sauce, and the soda, I paid $ 10.26. So. Worth. It. I sat out front beneath the final sunny afternoon of a long summer, and chowed down on some of the best fish tacos I’ve ever had locally. My only suggestion for the food may be to add a little more season in to the fish, though it’s flakiness almost made up for that completely. I just kept feeling it needed more lime or lemon, but that’s just me! My only complaint about the establishment is that it is tight and very warm inside. Given, it is a takeaway restaurant, but on a crowded day it must be miserable for both employees and customers. If you’re looking for a quick, and super delicious meal that boasts fresh ingredients and authenticity, look no further than Jimmy Changas. But if you’re parking, just pay the meter because the cops are ticket hungry around there.

Jimmy Changas is quite literally, a shack in the heart of Goshen, NY. It offers no interior seating or delivery service, but it does provide some of the best Mexican I’ve ever had. A place like Jimmy Changas is something you can get excited about, because where it lacks in traditional restaurant amenities, it more than makes up for in flavor and value. Jimmy Changas offers a $ 6 lunch special(at the time of writing this review) that comes with a main dish(chimichanga, tacos, etc) and a soda. Considering the size of the portion, it is well worth the money, and the drive from wherever you might be located. Although the pictures I posted were not of the lunch special variety, I have had the chimichanga special before, and it was fantastic. It came with heaps of sour cream, pico de gallo, and guacamole on top of the chimi itself, and was more than filling for a lunch meal, even for someone who constantly worries about portion size when ordering lunch. As for the pork tacos in the picture, they were quite addicting. Luckily, my order came with four pieces. The taco itself was grilled right in front of me, comprising two tortilla rounds per taco, which offered an adequate amount of grip for hurling the delicious combo of pork, cilantro, pico de gallo, and onions into my mouth. The only gripe I have is that although they were freshly grilled, the tortillas became somewhat chewy by the time I brought them back to my desk 10 minutes away. Blame the steam from the hot food trapped inside the to-go container. But hey, that’s the price you have to pay when dealing with a takeout joint. Overall, I think Jimmy Changas is a place tourists would pass right by if they were visiting town, judging this«book» by its cover. When upon further inspection, Jimmy’s is one of the more authentic«restuarants» I’ve ever been to. Don’t take my word for it, visit the place yourself.

It’s great to see a taco stand like this in the North East. These types of places are everywhere in the southwest. A small walk-in eatery that uses fresh ingredients and churns out great tasting Mexican fast food. We’ve driven by this place a ton of times and we recently finally stopped in for lunch. DW had one of the daily specials, Grilled Portabello Sandwich, I went with a Chicken Burrito and DD had a cheese quesadilla. All of the food was made fresh on the spot. We all loved our meals and we look forward to becoming regulars at Jimmy Changas. Bueno!
