El Pollo Loco

Just went in there and they were ALL very nice! Had to order a big order. Chicken looks amazing and that’s all I care about!

Surprise Surprise — shitty service. The lady was whistling while I was trying to order my take — out ! GHETTO! Got home 10:30 in the evening and no dressing for the salad ! You would think the manager would get a clue with the crap service and the reviews about how clueless the staff is, uh nope!

This review is directly for the drive-​thru, the driveway is extremely small… was being very cautious & scratched my entire rim, they could’ve constructed it differently

Ditto everyone else. Come here because this is the only location around and El Pollo Loco is yummy, but I’ve only used the drive-​thru and it’s almost guaranteed they will F* up your order. Best to check it before you leave.

Two stars only because the girl taking our order was very nice, but the one girl giving us our food was really rude and looked miserable.

I love El Pollo Loco but this location is awful. I went through the drive thru on ³⁄₁₈. The place was packed inside and in the drive thru. I ordered a 12 piece and avocado mango salad meal. One would think they must be grilling up fresh chicken non-​stop since it was so busy. Nope. The chicken we received was clearly old and dried out. As if it was sitting under heating lamps for hours. The coleslaw was only half filled in the container, the salad only had 2 small pieces of avocado and I asked for salsa and got none at all. Given the fact it took 25 mins in the drive through just to place an order I was not going to take everything back. I will definitely not go back to this location.

This review has some positive, but mostly negative. On the bright side, their food is delicious.(That is all the positive I have.)Every time we go in the drive thru, the line is always so long! By the time we get to the end of the line and get the food, we immediately go home. The minute everyone sits at the dinner table and ready to eat, we realize that they forgot to give the main food in the pollo bowl, which was the CHICKEN! We were all incredibly angry because this wasn’t the only time this has happened. Like always we get the receipt and call the dang place. When we call they said «i am terribly sorry we will give you a free side the next time you guys come.» They say this EVERY TIME! We never even end up using them.
Another thing i cant stand, is that they are so stingy with their sauces. Whenever we go we ask for a certain number of cilantro sauces, they just give us an attitude and give us ONE! They do the exact same thing with their pico de gallo sauce too. Even though they mess up every time, we still go back because their food is just to good to not have ever again.

This is my 5^th time in the el polo loco and this place is just very dirty the girls bathroom is very messy and just not worth coming to this location.

So we went to the Location on Nordhoff which we found is the same owner as at this location. They food was so much better and the people behind the counter were amazing. I suggest the owner get new management at the Balboa Location quick ! Really a shame that the owner would let this operation be managed this way, not hard to find a good manager. I highly do not recommend the Balboa Location unless you want to receive bad, under-​cooked food and bad service. Get it together !

Great place to get some fire grilled chicken. A little on the smaller side the chicken are very tasty (even the skin).
Love the Bacon Avocado Tostada salad and that oh so delicious Cilantro dressing YUM! Seriously they need to bottle this and sell it at the store or supermarket.
Dining in, the tables are tight to sit in especially if it gets busy. Can be a little bit more cleaner.

Was so excited to have my salad, waited in the drive through line for 40 min. Called the store to ask what was going on the manager was very polite. Pull up to the drive through window I pay and wonder why it’s so cheap because I ordered 2 salads not one. Then Ariana the cashier reads back the order and reads the wrong order. As I’m telling her that wasn’t my order she argued back with me telling me yes I ordered that. As I’m telling her what I originally ordered she closed the window as I’m speaking. So rude and unprofessional. Seriously couldn’t believe it. Never going back to this location AGAIN!

Been there 3 times all 3 times my food was wrong and o make it worst, the last time it was the store manager who messed it up and she didn’t have the decency to apologize. Worst fast food I’ve been In my life.
I told my staff if anyone gets food from this place he or she will go home for the rest of the day! Yes I did.
Oh almost forgot, they need to learn how to speak English last time I checked we are not in Latino country.

The only reason I still come here Is because it’s the only one Within 10 miles from my house .
Sooo, with that being said… This place has no customer service skills, let alone manners. They always, get my food
Wrong & of course I’m home already so I’m not driving back. Then when I call they hang up and keep the phone off the hook. I’m so tired of you guys not fixing or at least training your employees to have manners and compose themselves under pressure. You guys always rush and need to get the order right and maybe your lines wouldn’t be so long because we wouldn’t be coming back to complain!!! Manager is rude as well.

If drive thru wasn’t bad enough because of the line, Tree (who was working the line) was even worst! HORRIBLE customer service, bad tone over the speaker, no greeting, gets an A for being an asshole basically. Will just need to go in rather than do that whole experience again! OR check out another El Pollo Loco.

If there was another El Pollo Loco nearby I would go there instead of this one. Couple of times, they’ve messed up my order. I always get the family combo meal that has legs & thigh, 3 large sides, salad & churros. And each time, they mess up with one of those items either by giving me the wrong item or not giving me the item at all. You really expect your customers to eat whatever you feel like putting in their plates even though it’s not what they ordered???

Good food but horrible service, it’s only young kids working and they have poor customer service skills. I would say something about the drive thru wait time, but that seems to be the case at every location. They need to step up the satisfaction of the customer.

This is one of the worst pollo loco restaurants in North America. The only things guaranteed here an unusually long wait and a messed up order when you leave. Doesn’t matter if there is only 1 other person in line YOUR ASS IS WAITING.

I’ve been coming to this Location for quite a while and they have always given me great service. The place is clean and the food is always on point to their standards. You can never go wrong with El Pollo Loco

This place food is pretty consistent unfortunate service takes a back seat… way the f!?$ back. So I recommend you take it to go or come starving to deal with juvenile stupidity. maybe that’s why they l have «loco» as part of their name you have to be nuts to deal with the drama

Ehhhh, I’ve had waaayyy better. They really don’t have a lot of non meat choices. Out running around all day with the BF, we were tired and decided to stop here. He got the 2 piece white meat combo. The chicken was red near the bone! A def no no when eating chicken. Unfortunately we didn’t discover until we got home, popped a movie in, and sat down to eat. Grrrrrr! had to recook the damn chicken! I got the cheese quesadilla… the cheese wasn’t all the way melted and it was tiny! Good thing I wasn’t terribly hungry. A little saving grace were the chips, they were fresh and delish! The guacamole portion size was tiny and it was so so on taste. I can honestly say I won’t go back.
