The food here was average but unfortunately it made me extremely sick with food poisoning. I’m not sure if the chicken was undercooked or if there was another problem, but I would advise against eating here. The little girl running the cash register was cute though.

I was really excited when I saw they had a ton of gluten free stuff!!! I was not disappointed at all. The food was fresh, and super tasty. The lady who helped us was really friendly and noted that my food had to be gluten free. I watched how they were with everyone who walked through the doors, and they are very attentive and very friendly with each new face. They clearly have some return customers, because I heard them being referred to by their names and they asked how their families were doing. It is really good to know that there are places like this that still exist. I know some people may be turned off by the price of the sodas, and bottled water that they have, but if you really think about it their prices make sense. They only have those things there for people who come in to sit at a table, which does not happen often. They deal mostly in takeout and so they do not provide soda as a free refill thing.

I’ve gotten the orange chicken and the General Tsao chicken — both delicious! I recommend getting the combination plate — you get TONS of food and at a great price. My boyfriend and I will usually split a dish and still have some for lunch the next day. The chicken is in great, small pieces and it’s always hot and fresh.

We’ve lived in Grand Haven for two years and love The Fortune Cookie for quick Chinese food. Best crab cheese around!

This is the only place we go for Chinese food in Grand Haven. We have 3 Asian kids and they like The Fortune Cookie best!

Ive tried all the Chinese places around Grand Haven area. They are the best so far. Good portion sizes for the price, friendly owner, great service.

I visited here yesterday with some friends who were visiting from out of town and we placed a huge takeout order to bring back to their resort. The service was top-notch, and the cashier was the owner’s sixth-grade daughter! She ran credit cards and organized orders like a champ and it was the cutest thing ever. :) The food was exactly what we were craving. It was cheap, packaged to make transporting easy, piping hot when we got it home, fresh-tasting… and the portions were huge. I also appreciated how detailed the menu was, it was really easy to order even for people with food allergies or special dietary needs. I would definitely go back. :)

Can’t really complain, food is either average or better depending on who is cooking. They’ve messed up 2 of my orders before but they are cheap, fast & friendly.

I loved this place while I was in high school and missed it like crazy when I went away to college. Having recently moved back I am glad to see the food is just as good as always. During my time at college I searched all over for good Chinese food, no one matched the quality that fortune cookie has.

Fortune Cookie provided us a yummy dinner with the kids after Michigan Adventures. Their very nice staff made us feel welcome!

First off let me premise this by stating I am not a huge fan of Chinese food. I’ve had Chinese food in China as wellnas around the states. The Fortune Cookie is as close to China as I have found. A lot of food, priced right, and staff that is friendly. Five stars for the food, people, a little less star if I was looking for atmosphere. Not the best for dine in.

Really yummy Chinese food. I had lemon chicken, tons of chicken and loads of great vegetables. Good prices and large potions. I recommend especially for to go.

No need to go anywhere else for Chinese. Except for the Fortune Cookie, I’d be careful where you go for Chinese.

Seems like every other chinese food restaurant. The food was just ok, but it was not what we were anticipating based on the reviews, and the interior was dirty.

This Chinese food is decent. Being that it is in Grand Haven and one of two Chinese take out places it gets more praise than it probably should. However it is pretty clean and has quick service and the food is passable as junk food. Last time I ordered szechuan chicken and they seriously skimped on the meat and broccoli and loaded up with root vegetables. I wish that they had delivery as Grand Haven hardly has any delivery options outside of pizza.

I was skeptical about this place at first because of the modest location and the inauthentic sounding name. But the food here turned out to be great! If you’re looking for some American-style Chinese in Grand Haven, this is by far the best.

Amazing. A staple when my boyfriend and I are in Grand Haven. There is a small dining area with three tables if you’d like to eat in. :) The people are very nice also. Great job!

So here’s the deal: the fortune cookie serves safe(you wont get sick), standard take-out Chinese fare. I’ve lived(and thus eaten chinese) on both coasts and make my own wontons, pot stickers, stir frys, hot and sour etc so I can be tough to impress. However I’ve eaten at a lot of places that are just plain terrible, and this place is definitely not that. We usually get the garlic chicken and some hot and sour The upshot is that this is the only chinese place I’d eat in Grand Haven(others are sketchy), but don’t go here expecting Pei Wei /PF Changs /homemade style food. To get something better, you’re going to have to go into Grand Rapids or further. ps. this isn’t a place you really sit down. there are 3 tables in front mostly for people to wait for their take out — probably 98% take out business FYI :)

Our little town has others, but needs only THIS Asian take out !! I lived in the Detroit area for most of my life, and have eaten at many take out places, but this place is the best. Try the Singapore Noodles. Curry, egg, meats, thin noodles. YUM.

This is a great Chinese take-out place. I have tried many different items, but I love the beef chow mein the best. The egg rolls are excellent too. They have free hot tea and the best homemade mustard. The wonton soup is delicious. The service is fast and friendly.
