Attentive service, vegetarian menu, delicious breakfast. Much less crowded for breakfast than Dream Café so no wait!

Really good omelets. Food is served hot. Restauraunt is clean! The music is 50’s and is quietly playing in the background so it isn’t too loud or anything like that. The waitress I had was kind, helpful, and efficient. She came by and checked in on me frequently. The décor is memorabilia from the 50’s. I like the old school 50’s tables and chairs… some of the chairs are new and they don’t fit in but I’m sure the extra bucks to buy some new ones(retro) adds up. I like this place and even though I’m just visiting Grand Junction from Boise Idaho I would hope to return to dine here again.

Yum, the veggie omlet was so good and the fried potatoes were very tasty. The chicken fried steak breakfast was just like when we were kids. Will definately be back. Cute vintage décor was fun as well.

Why are there so many haters on Unilocal and food snobs im such a small town? If you don’t like Heinz, eat at home. Just bc they got your vegetarian order wrong, don’t crucify them on TripAdvisor. I’m from SF and I think this place is great and love the quirky feel with all the décor. It is one of a kind and all the waitresses are super nice and attentive. The chili will warm you on a chilly day and they have all the diner food you will need. The prices are cheap too! Highly recommend for all ages.

NIce nostalgic café in the heart of old downtown. Good breakfast choices though it took quite a bit to get the food out. Lots of young servers running around.

I had the veggie burrito and it was really good. Husband had bacon eggs and potato. The potatoes were just ok they came out cold. The bacon was also cold but really good bacon. Reported this to the waitress and she took very good care of us. Would like to come here again sometime.

This place serves absolutely giant omelettes and an offensive amount of home fries, but just because it’s big, doesn’t mean it’s good. The quality of food is in no way up to par with its competition. While their peers use fresh, local products, I have no doubt they are the ones unloading from the Sysco truck. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but there is little to no variety here. We asked on one occasion for some fresh fruit, they don’t serve fruit. In today’s world, that’s a little crazy. Pancakes, eggs, and sausage can only go so far. The coffee is decent I guess. The service is usually ok, except for one time we went.

You have now publicly harassed me after privately harassing me twice. As already explained you have to wrong patron. I know nothing of the«girls» that you PM’d about. The review is an honest reflection upon the service and treatment experienced from this establishment. Unfortunately it is apparent that this business has done this to more than one individual as you are having a hard time keeping track of whom you have denied service to.

It was good, solid breakfast food. I got eggs, bacon, hash browns and pancakes, and it was good. I sat outside on a Sunday morning(nice that it wasn’t busy).

Just met my family there and had the best lunch. Light and fun atmosphere. Excellent service, server was kind enough to stop and take our picture during the lunch rush. Food was terrific. May be my new favorite place when I come to Grand Junction.

Cute place, decent burger. Why 4 stars? Can’t do 4.5 Heinz ketchup. Yup. As healthy as I like to be by avoiding HFCS and eating«whole foods», I found it disappointing that if I wanted ketchup, I’d have to anoint it with a toxin. Boars Head meats — huge plus.

Love, love, love this place! I eat here all the time and have won a couple free lunches with my business card. The fries are always hot and the service is friendly. I get the same thing and it’s always consistent.

Yummy yummy yummy. Great food. Friendly staff. Cool décor. It’s located in an old retail space and they’ve put tables in the windows. Totally cool place.

This place is not good. I had a country club sandwich and it didn’t have much flavor. I’ve never had a sandwich that didn’t really taste like anything. Until I came here. My husband had a tuna melt and it was very obviously burnt. Not surprisingly, it didn’t taste good at all. The fries that came with our meals had a weird burnt taste as well. The only good thing about this place was that the waitress was friendly.

I visited this place in June, 2014. My original review was harsh and I was called out on it by the owner on Trip Advisor, so I am rewording it. I really only had one complaint with the place(which I will explain at the end), and I agree with the owner that I was harsh. I am certainly not rewriting it because I felt intimidated by the owner; I am rewording it because the owner was correct and I was, indeed, too harsh for a simple mistake. This is a cute place in the middle of the little downtown strip(plenty of parking all up and down the street). There’s nice outdoor seating area and the inside had a cute diner-ish décor. The place seemed nice and clean. I had a grilled cheese and it was ok — decent — like the kind you would get in the old 60s five and dime stores. I also had an AWESOME vanilla malt. The cole slaw that came with my grilled cheese was very good! The service was very good and the prices were very reasonable. Here’s where my complaint comes in: My friend and I are both vegetarians. I am a vegetarian because eating a dead animal is gross to me. That’s my choice. My friend ordered the VEGGIE Elvis. When she got it, it was a REAL meat patty(the veggie Elvis was supposed to be a VEGGIE burger). We stared at it a while because it was smothered in cheese, so we weren’t exactly sure what was under all that cheese. As soon as she cut it, she knew it was real meat. We called the server back over, and she quickly whisked it away. A real veggie Elvis came out within few minutes and my friend enjoyed it. Everybody makes mistakes, and I understand that — someone just wasn’t paying attention. The thing is, when you are served something that is gross to you(meat), it kinda ruins the meal. So that is why I wrote a harsh review. But, it was an innocent mistake, so that’s that. Our service was very good and the server was quick to correct the mistake. Again, delicious cole slaw and BEST malt ever!

What an adorable 50’s diner. Great breakfast. We were passing through on a motorcycle trip and thanks to Unilocal we found another gem. They have home made corned beef hash and fresh squeezed OJ. Definitely worth any slight detour you might need to make. Do yourself a favor and stop and try this place.

A good Downtown GJ spot for lunch or breakfast. Typical diner style fare served with some sass. The reuben is really good as is the chicken fried steak. Love it. The only thing that keeps me from eating there more often is their hash browns/home fries with the chicken fried steak. I like the more traditional shredded hash browns and I like them crispy. Their«hash browns» are soft and mushy. Offer both =) please The service can be a bit slow but it is not a fast food restaurant and the prices are good!

Main Street Café is a place you can come for breakfast, lunch, or dinner and find something to make you happy. As a 50s diner, they are definitely known to make AWESOME milkshakes(3 full scoops in each one), root beer floats, or whatever else you want in that genre. This isn’t an innovate brunch place, this is basic diner breakfast at it’s best. We sat outside and had Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs as well as a Breakfast Burrito. Of course with a Chocolate Milk Shakes. With 50s music playing in the background, it’s hard to go wrong. I’d come back here at night for burgers and shakes as well, but we ran out of time.

The Main Street Café in Grand Junction is a great 50s style café with records, photos, poodle skirts and other memorable covering the walls. With plenty of character and lots of chrome this place belongs on Historic Route 66! My wife and I ate here for breakfast last week and really enjoyed their breakfast burritos with green chili. They were delicious! Service was prompt and our waitress was friendly. I would definitely eat here again.
