This is a good place to grab dinner. I was seat promptly and the service was attentive. They are easy going and relaxed here. The pork chili was delicious and highly recommended. The monte Cristo was majorly fried but after taking off the fried portions, it was good with the amazingly creative raspberry chipotle that was sweet and savory but not a BBQ. I would definitely come back on my next biz trip!

Went here on a first date. I have to say that it was awesome. Great food, great cocktails and fantastic service! Locally sourced, great locale. What more is there to say other than, keep on doing what your doing. Only thing missing was music. Either a band or somebodies itunes, something!

This place is an f-ing joke. The food is decent at best and the service is atrocious. I’ve tried it twice and had the same experience both times. If you have the forethought to call ahead around breakfast time the day before, you might get your lunch before closing time the day of. But probably not. I give this place a year, tops. Get ready to be disappointed!!!

While the food was good, the service is really what sets this place apart. Unfortunately, that’s not a compliment. My first time there, I waited over an hour for the wrong food. As an added bonus, it was cold. Oh, and the server truly couldn’t care less about the fact that he didn’t actually provide service. The waiter did, however, thoroughly enjoy ignoring my table throughout the awful experience. I vowed never to go back. However, I apparently don’t take my vows very seriously. I thought the first awful experience may have been a fluke, so I tried the place again. Mistake. I had the displeasure of interacting with several different servers. All of whom were rude, unpleasant, and downright hateful. When we arrived and I asked for a table for six(on a slow Wednesday night), I was greeted with an over-the-top eye roll, complete with exaggerated sigh. When I acknowledged the theatrics and offered to find another establishment, I was rewarded with open hostility. Apparently, this server does NOT like his job. After another server witnessed this exchange, he took over and promptly apologized for his cohort’s reprehensible behavior. Bonus to him. Unfortunately, the other servers must have killed him for his positive customer interaction, as we never saw him again. We were seated on the patio and promptly ignored for 30 minutes. A third server then approached and apologized for being late, blaming it on shift change(at 630 pm). He took our order and we waited another 45 minutes for our food. It was once again cold and wrong. The server refused to change anything or compensate us in any way for the errors. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was informed that he was not available. I think I’ve finally learned my lesson. I will not be giving this place a third chance.

I gave them a second try and The Local let me down again. The service is slow and quite unfriendly. The Don’t go Bacon my Heart salad was loaded with lots of good stuff but didn’t have enough greens to support it. The broccoli slaw was too salty. The panini was soggy. We love supporting local businesses but this one isn’t going to cut it.

I wanted to love this place but after eating here twice, I can’t. The food is pretty good but the service both times has been sooooo sllllooowwww. If you have absolute no agenda and don’t mind waiting, give it a try. I can’t see myself coming back.

I’m truly baffled by the 5 star reviews here and can only conclude that either they were written by friends/family of the owner in an attempt to up their rating OR written by customers with truly low standards. Service — 0 If you are a waitress, you wait on people. If you are a server, you serve people. That’s your job. Don’t act annoyed and inconvenienced when asked to do job-related tasks such as bringing menus, refilling drinks, or handing us the bill. Again: that is the job you were hired for. If you can’t handle it, make a living in another profession. Food — 1 Processed, overly greasy & salty, fried everything… imagine the worst bottom of the barrel bar food and you’ve got the picture. For all of that, we still waited over 45 minutes for our food. Disappointing.

Went here cuz the dream café was a 40 min wait. Can I just say found my new place!!! 1st of all the bloody marys were awesome!!! With great atmosphere and live piano player player… what more could u ask for! Wait!!! The food!!! The chicken and waffles must have… the chicken melts in ur mouth and the waffle is a perfect combo of crispy and fluffy! I had the steak and Blu salad and the gorgonzola dressing was awesome… Could use a little more steak, but not worried about it cuz it tasted so good anyways. I will definitely be back.

Atmosphere AWESOME! love the art and music and people. It’s always a must to have a good patio to eat or drink on and they have a great one right on Main Street. I love the chicken and waffles and the avocado fries! This place is a really good time for night life it’s open super late and serves food for those after bar hours munchies! I’d like to see more new stuff on the menu.

I dined here shortly after they opened. Great food and great service. I started recommending The Local to my friends. This past month I started hearing complaints about the service and the food. Wanting to find out myself if the complaints were true I went to The Local with a group of friends. We arrived at 11:45. By 12:20 our food hadn’t arrived. Since we all had to be back to work at 1:00 we asked for the food to be boxed and for our checks. The checks were brought quickly but not picked up. At 12:35 with no food and the checks still sitting on the table we decided to leave. The poor server came to us and said the food was ready and free. We all picked up our food and proceeded back to work. The food was inedible. From burgers that the bun and burger were burned beyond recognition to Monte Cristos that that smelled like fish. This was probably the worst restaurant experience I have ever had.

I’m really teetering on a fourth star here. I was blown away by the Banjo Burger, but most of my other meals were simply ok. The Banjo is the truth though. I wish I would’ve discovered it in my first trip. The salads are ok. The breakfast food is ok. The service is ok. Everything is ok and fine, but the Banjo… get it.

What a cute little hole in the wall, and it really goes back there! Sure the wait was a little long, but the steak and eggs were totally worth it.

Perhaps the nighttime service is better but the daytime service we received was lacking. The place was maybe only 1⁄3 full but it still took an hour and a half to get lunch, much of this time spent waiting for menus, waiting for burgers, waiting for silverware, and then waiting for the bill. The brat was burnt, the fries were mediocre, and the burger was odd tasting. The server apologized a lot for how long the service was taking. The food was priced too high for the quality. I would have been happier with In N Out.

Too many servers, not enough customers when we were there at 11 am. With the lack of customers you would think they would be all over us keeping our drinks refilled but didn’t. Food was ok, nothing was standout amazing. It definitely felt like we were eating in a bar. You can tell this place is new and hopefully working out its kinks. We still prefer the place next door for breakfast/brunch.

This is the second time I eat here. First time I had breakfast. It was really good. Today I had blackened pork chop with mashed potato and green beans. It was divine. We asked to share and they split the plates for us evenly, no problem. That earned them a 5 star rating and a good tip. Plus we will come back and recommend to others. Hate it when some restaurants frown at sharing. The Local is a great restaurant. Don’t know why anyone would give it less than five stars. Coming back soon for breakfast again.

Firstly, I want to say I don’t like bad Unilocal reviews based on service. That being said, the service here was terrrrrrible and I am breaking my own rule and rating the restaurant almost completely on its service or in this case, lack there of. We arrived at 10:30, were seated in about ten min and then stared at our menus and water glasses for nearly an hour, catching glimpses of our mythical waitress on the rarest of occasions. And the the food came, finally. The food review…2 of the three plates where good, maybe 2.5 stars, but the last one came out cold, literally cold with the grated cheese sitting on top unmelted… this dish would need the assistance of a celebrity chef to make it eatable. As there was no celebrity chef on the premise, or possibly someone with the rank of even a line cook, it was not saved, time of death, 11:34am…RIP. Our server, who took the brunt of my displeasure, «kindly» explained that waits are typically like this on the weekends. To that I say WTF?! Can’t management hire an additional line cook? Do people really wait 1 hr for their food… food that was optimistically mediocre? Maybe she was trying to placate us with this line, but I would have much preferred a lie akin to, «INS raided us and we are short staffed»…I’m gullible, I would have believed that. So to summarize… Food 2.5 stars for two plates, 0 stars on the other one. Service…1 star and only because our unicorn of a waitress gave a feeble attempt to save the day, but by the time she tossed up the Hail Mary time had expired. So what I’m saying is that if you go here on the weekend make sure your phone has a good charge and you have some current event topics chambered to pass the time. If the food was amazing or even great I’d happily wait two hours and endure terrible service, but this wasn’t it… not even close. #fail

Firstly, I have to explain my rating before I go on… the 3-stars is for the overall experience(ie: we didn’t want to eat dinner there because the menu and restaurant didn’t appeal). Read on for the REAL reason we were there… We only had drinks and an appetizer here, but the appetizer was fan-tabulous! It was Avocado Fries(yes, think perfectly breaded and fried avocado strips). Being a true avocado nut we went there specially for this. We didn’t really find the cafeteria style restaurant appealing so went elsewhere for dins, but I would come back for the Avocado Fries! Yes, oh yes!

Being ignored is never fun when you’re at a restaurant but that’s how it was when I went to «The Local». Came in on a Saturday around 4pm with a party of 3 when the place wasn’t that busy and had to wait 10 minutes just to have a seat in a certain section since more than half the tables haven’t been bused and were still dirty. After that small for a table we were seating and then promptly ignored for the next 20 minutes till we got our drink orders in then another 30 minutes till we got our food order. We didn’t order much since we were already over being there so we just got appetizers, the fried mushroom bites(which were really good) and the mozzarella sticks which I had a problem with since they just tasted bad and felt uncooked but since our server was to busy hanging out with friends at the bar we just said screw it and got our check and left. It will be a hard sell to get me or my friends back again but if we do it will be in a few months giving them time to train the staff properly.

I decided to check out The Local with a friend after hearing positive things about it. We went there for brunch on a Sunday. It definitely wasn’t busy, but it took the waitress about 20 minutes to even come over and take a drink order. It took another 20 to get our drinks(a hot chocolate and an iced tea). And it took another 40 minutes for our food. We weren’t in a hurry, but if we had been, there’s no way I would have waited that long. We ordered avocado fries before our meal, but we didn’t get those. After our food came out(which was decent but nothing amazing), we reminded them about the fries, and they finally got them out to us after we finished our meal. I took them home and fed them to my dogs after we tried a few because nobody wants sorry, reheated avocado fries. They did comp us on the fries, but I felt bad because it was a waste(not that my dogs minded much). The second(and only other time) I’ve been to The Local was on a busy Friday night. It wasn’t packed, but there were a fair number of people there. After sitting with our friends(who already had a table) for about twenty minutes with no service, we decided to go elsewhere. After eating at Rockslide, we came back to The Local to catch a show. After waiting at the bar for a very long time for drinks(and no service), I decided to head out. I’m not sure if I’ll ever go back to The Local, but it’s definitely not the first place that comes to mind when going out to dinner. I know they’re newly opened so service is spotty, but I think many of the people I’ve talked to have had similar issues with service. If they can get their act together, they may be a decent restaurant, and I will support them.

We have been at all times, breakfast, lunch happy hour, dinner. Food has always been amazing, chicken and waffles, mozzarella sticks, chicken cordon blue, seared tuna, Greek burger, hasn’t mattered… DELISH! Tonight service was great, everyother time, so-so. Worth it though for the food. Please keep up food quality!
