Vadnais Heights, MN
Loved the high quality artwork of Minnesota artists! Well-​lit, and multiple types of art on display. I return annually to visit, and always see something new. My favorite paintings are those created by Jan Sivertson. She featured another artist who uses bold bright colors to depict the northern nature, named Adam Swanson. Thanks for exposing me to the wonders of the art world

Aside from original paintings and reproductions from Howard Sivertson (and a few other regional artists), the gallery carries a nice selection of more affordable items like coffee table books, post cards, and prints. The people working here have always been extremely patient and helpful when I’ve wandered in somewhat disheveled from a week or two on Isle Royale, Boundary Waters, or the SHT.
This is a cut far above the usual North Shore tourist trap gallery filled with craft fair items and low quality prints of Brandenburg’s Wolves.

People at this gallery are super nice, knowledgeable and helpful. I visit each time I am in Grand Marais and always fine more than I expected, and have bought several pieces from them from notecards to original watercolors. The selection is beautiful, and they are in a great location in the center or the town. Plus right near the World’s Best Donuts, another reason to stop in GM. This gallery always seems to feature new artists and work — and it is never junked up with poor quality pieces.

Smallish (it’s a small town, after all) but they have quality stuff and they do tend to focus on local artists. I’ve bought a few things from them — from notecards to block prints — and have my eye on a few pieces I may come back for when I have the cash.
They tend to be more expensive than some other places in town but they also (I think) have better quality stuff than what you’ll find elsewhere.
There’s another location in Duluth, I believe.

Love this place. Great art from local artists. Just got a great dragonfly watercolor print for a good price. Love their stuff and so does my whole family. Check out the free tea its great esp the orange spice.

This is a great gallery if you are looking for regional artists with a Lake Superior/​Northwoods feel. I have purchased several pieces from this location as well as the one in Duluth. It’s a beautiful space and a pleasure to take a break and walk around in. It’s just across the street from Sven and Olé’s so you can have a tasty pizza and then check out some exciting artists!
