We used this company for our move last July and paid extra for the 3rd mover which, according to the company«…cuts down on the time and allows for a faster move.» I guess we should be glad we did because who knows how long it would have taken if we hadn’t but it took them 6 hrs and 15 minutes(rounded up to 7 in the billing of course) to move a two bedroom apartment they had quoted 5 hrs to do with only 2 movers. We felt the same way as the reviewer before-that they moved as slowly as they could and when we tried to help to speed up the process they told us «we got it». Because it was over 6 hours(by 15 minutes) we were charged an extra 20% «gratuity» even though we had already tipped them. After moving nearly everything else into our new place, these poor scrawny boys(who should not be moving heavy furniture) tried once to get the couch through the door and then said that it could not be done. Seeing as that this apartment has clearly been lived in before, we insisted that it could be done. They tried again and with some help from my fiancé suggesting that they tilt the couch up(yes) they finally got the couch up the stairs but not without leaving deep gashes in the leather on both the loveseat and couch as well as multiple paint transfers from the walls onto the couches. In the process, the paint was scraped from the walls and the front door knob was punched through the wall. I felt bad for these high schoolers and so we thanked them and figured we would take up the issues with management during business hours(not at 5 pm at night on a Saturday). When I called the manager the following Monday he asked me to send pictures to open a claim. Yesterday, nearly a year after this move, I still had not heard a word. When I asked for an update, I received this very professional response… «I had sent you answer right after you sent me pictures of claim. I guess it did not make it to you. After talking to you and the movers, the movers stated to yall before moving the sofa that it would damage the walls if they tried to move it in, they stated that yall wanted them to try it, so that made yall assume any responsibility for damages to sofa and walls. So claim for damaged is denied.» If this company operated with skill and professionalism, as one might expect from a mover(and a price tag of $ 900) this job could have easily been accomplished without damages.
