Portions have gone way small! I ordered the molcajete and it it seemed like I only got a tablespoon of rice and a tablespoon of charro beans. Would not have mind if the rice and beans were delicious but the rice tasted like plastic. Never again!

My boyfriend’s grandmother took us out to dinner this evening to Los Lupes. I had never been there before. Service was very slow and she(the server) seemed irritated. It took us about 5 minutes to place our drink orders and about 15 to receive queso yet the chips and salsa were being placed before we even reached the table. It took us about 45 minutes from the time we entered to receive our food and even then my boyfriend’s sister had to wait a few more minutes for hers and they forgot my boyfriend’s shrimp, the server tried arguing with us that his meal didn’t come with it when it did. So she brought it out. The food was delicious but very salty. This is coming from a woman who uses a packet of salt on a mcdouble… Also, she took several minutes to bring us anything when we could flag her down. Another server brought us most of what we needed. Yet when she brought the check, she was back within 2 minutes to receive payment. Over all, great food, but very poor service.

great authentic Mexican food. We went on a Saturday night where they had karaōke which was entertaining. Great for some late night Mexican food. Highly recommend.

Ordered a basic cheese enchilada. Cheese was never even melted it was so gross that after two bites I thought I was going to throw up. I didn’t want anything else but they boxed another serving so I could take more cold food home and charged me for food I never ate. Seriously disgusted, but since I don’t know Spanish and couldn’t explain that my food was disgusting and no one seemed to care that is what I got. Will never go back because people don’t listen/understand and food gross.

Let me start off on a positive note… The food was actually really good at this place. I had the Molcajete for dinner and the Churros and Ice Cream for dessert. As far as the service goes it was horrible. We were there for almost 2 hours. For whatever reason we never had a single waiter. We waited 30 minutes for someone to take our order. Another 30 for the food to get here. Then we had to hunt a waitress down to get our ticket after waiting for 30 minutes for someone to come by. A different person brought out our ticket. We asked him to split it and he just walked away. Then no one came to pick up the payment and I had to walk to the back to give it to someone. Also, the décor was very dark and cold. They have some cave looking dark brown walls and dark lighting fixtures. They need to brighten that place up a bit Overall I would come back for the food. Hopefully the service will be much better or I’ll just try a different location.

If you picked up a rock and threw it randomly, any place it lands will likely prepare better Mexican food. Guacamole was bland and tasteless. Every piece of meat one the fajitas plate was over cooked and we should have brought a table saw to cut the skirt steak. The waitress was nice. that’s worth a star.

Completely horrible experience. Took over an hour to receive our order. Then the order wasn’t ours, it belonged to the table next to us who had slso been waiting a very long time. In fact, several tables that were seated after us had already been served and finished. When I complained to the so called manager, she threw a brand new waitress under the bus rather than take responsibility and fix it. I was then served a plate that was room temperature, at best. Obviously, it had been sitting out. I paid for my husband’s meal and left. I’m home eating grilled cheese thanks to you. The table next to us left without eating. This is not how to tske care of customers.

The thing I most like about los lupes is the atmosphere, mariachis performing and the decoration make it all come together to provide an enjoyable place to eat, also their lunch special is pretty good

This place is the worst. House margaritas taste like straight mix. I asked for shot and waitress rambles how she can’t give me same tequila. WTF! Nachos were mainly beans and chips. Waitress not attentive & when she does come she’s rushing to leave. Never will be back!

There isn’t better Mexican food in Dallas. In fact, if my boyfriend or I have the urge to come here, within the hour you know where we will be! I like this Los Lupes because it isn’t a huge restaurant with new menu items constantly, trying to play up something that isn’t good or change the flavor of a classic to sell more of them. You want a quesadilla? It won’t come out with ranch buffalo southwestern style whatever on it– it will arrive on your plate as the best quesadilla this side of the freaking border. You want cheese enchiladas? You will get the best cheese enchiladas, and so on. On the other hand, their menu is also massive with yummy items like Shrimp Nachos and Pollo Acapulco, all of which are also the best. The margaritas are amazing, too! Happy hour margaritas are amazing just as much as the fancy ones. Good selection of drinks, and I hear the dessert is seriously good– we’ve never made it that far. Legit queso blanco, too! Come check out the lunch buffet and karaōke nights too! Also, sports games are on when big games are happening. Some nights are busier during karaōke, so be ready to be part of the party or call ahead.

In what used to be a Pizza Inn when times were good(think back to 1974), this kitchen has seen better days. This was my first time and although I was seated right away, it took forever to order. It also took a long time to receive my check along with asking four times(4) for my takeout order of chips and salsa. My first clue was when the waiter did not know the menu and would have struggled all night had I not asked him to bring back to my table a menu. I ordered the spinach enchiladas and was amazed at the small portion size which was covered in «Cheez Wiz”® How do you say Nasty in Spanish? Anyway, there are enough restaurants around here to more than satisfy my hunger especially when I have a craving for Mexican food. On a scale of 1 — 10 with ten being the highest, I give this place two(2) sombreros.

Los Lupes has excellent food and their happy hour is insane. They have 99 cent margaritas! For months I was a regular at Los Lupes and then my car was broken into while I sat inside enjoying happy hour. After that incident I haven’t been back in the last year. I’m really sad because I really enjoyed their happy hour but I enjoy having a non-vandalized car even more.

I don’t find the food to be fantastic. But it is cheap. For some reason I absolutely love their eggs for breakfast though! Fajitas are pretty good and very cheap… and enough to share with someone else.

Definitely one of the top«comfort Mexican food» places for my fiancée and me. She lives right down the street from this place, so we go pretty regularly. Some of the best chips and salsa we know, and the tamales are excellent. Honestly, I have yet to eat anything here that wasn’t awesome. Give their breakfast menu a shot if you can, they’re one of the few in the area that offer some authentic Mexican breakfast cuisine. Oh, and happy hour margaritas = Epic Win at this joint. :-)
