I’ve wanted to try this place out since the first time I saw it. I got brisket and ribs. That’s all I need to make my decision about a BBQ joint. The brisket was fine. I’ve been to a LOT of places where brisket is just hit or miss sometimes. This was good with the sauce. In fact, the sauce didn’t taste anything like Heinz 57. On its own, it was okay, but it is obviously made to compliment the meats. Now, about the ribs. Holy $#%¥. These ribs were great. This place should market their ribs heavily. I could definitely taste a hint of brown sugar, which is always a + in my book. If you go, get the ribs. Ribs ribs ribs. The service was good, too. Nice folks. And the Texas flag booths were a nice touch.

Stopped by for a lunch meeting with a colleague. The place was truly hole in the wall in a rough looking neighborhood. I missed it and had to do a U-turn. The parking lot was not paved and in the back of the restaurant. But the smell of burned wood lingering around the parking lot from the BBQ pit gave me a feeling that the food should be at least decent. And I was right. I had a 3 meat plate with 2 sides. The meat was literally piled high. The sausage was fantastic with jalapenos and cheddar cheese. The jalapenos was mild and did not overwhelm the overall flavor. The pockets of cheddar cheese exploded with creamy fatty flavor. The sausage was excellent. The ribs were semi falling off the bone. It was very meaty and not too fatty. I loved it. The brisket, as another review mentioned, was tougher than usual. The flavor was there. The smoke was there. It was just tougher than the usual Texas brisket that I was accustomed to. My side dishes were potato salad and green beans. The sides were okay, nothing bad, nothing extraordinary either. The place was family run. The staff was very friendly. During the hour that I was there, I saw other patrons included several military personnels and first reponders in addition to other regular customers.

This place was great. I was looking for a good spot while on my lunch break. Good size menu with all the staple BBQ meats. I went in hoping to get some pulled pork, but they were out already. Now typically i get a 2 meat plate, brisket & pulled pork, at most BBQ place. However, they offered up some ribs as the substitution. Now if you have ever been to any BBQ place you know that typically means 2 maybe 3 ribs if your lucky, so I decided I should probably add in some sausage. After figuring out my sides and getting my sweet tea I headed back to work with only having paid 13.80 for 3 meats 2 sides and a drink. Now that I was happy about. I get back to work and sit down open the lid to the Togo container, and it was FILLED. there was so much food I ate on it for at least 2 – 3 days. This place is not only awesome for their food, but if you eat there for lunch and can finish your plate I bet you didn’t go back to work. Probably curled up somewhere like uncle Joe after Thanksgiving!

Stopped in here for Wrestlemania weekend on Monday and glad we did! The food was excellent. As we pulled up to the littlehole in the wall spot, we commented that it looked run down and shady which is PERFECT fora good BBQ spot! The interior is cozy and decorated with seemingly dozens of Texas flags and the southern hospitality is palpable. If you are in the area you can do fr worse and certainly not any better than stopping in here for lunch.

I gotta say I liked the BBQ here. Quick and friendly service, lots of options on the menu. Not a big dining room, but plenty of space, gotta be ten tables or so in the place, and of course there’s the 13″ Sony TV on the wall for your viewing pleasure. Seriously though, some pretty good stuff here. Got a three meat plate, ribs, sausage and brisket(amen). With a drink it was less than $ 19 when you get it to the table. Great deal in itself. The ribs were moist and tender, a little too tender as the meat was falling off the bone, literally. Now, while some of your BBQ purists(which I don’t count myself among) would fret and say how the ribs were overcooked, but I tend to go with flavor above all other… most of the time. The ribs were very good, without sauce, with sauce, I enjoyed the crap outta them, and I got four of them on the plate order, wow. The sausage seemed like a light pepper taste. Not too heavy. It was good sausage, ate every bit of it as well. A little tame for my tastes, still enjoyed it a lot. The brisket,(sigh) the only low point of the meal. Don’t know what happened here, but it was tough, dry, and had what I call«the gray color» to it. Don’t know if it hadn’t been cooked long enough, or what. Fat didn’t look rendered enough. It was tough pulling it apart. Ate a couple of slices, but didn’t really appeal to me. I’m more than willing to say it was an off day for the brisket, especially with how good everything else was. Hope I’m not makin’ anyone mad for saying it, as overall I had a very enjoyable visit. EVERY bbq place has off days, ya just gotta deal with it… I can. Honestly, I didn’t even count off for the brisket in my rating. Look, I’ll be going back just to get some more ribs and sausage and probably some other stuff on the menu. I’ll surely try the brisket again next time. Prices are right, sheesh, prices are great, people running the place are great. I’m glad I finally made it by to check it out.

We had the lone star special chopped beef sandwich and their loaded baked potato with chopped beef and everything was incredible! Nice casual atmosphere inside and they do have a drive thru available as well. The prices can’t be beat either. The two of us ate an entrée with sides and a drink each and it was all less than $ 20. You can hardly get away that cheap at a fast food place even. I had to tip them extra much. Very impressed.

The bbq here is fantastic! The sausage is very good! I tried the cheese sausage and the regular sausage. Both very juicy and hot(not spicy). I ordered the daily special for 6.99 and got the sausage, potato salad, Mo’s French fries, and the toast! Awesome sea for a good portion of food. See the pic I posted :) The brisket wasn’t the best in the world which is why I took one star off because I judge most bbq places by their brisket. The meat was a bit colder and chewy. So it wasn’t the most delicious but it was fine. The owners were very nice and I really appreciate how kind they were. They brought me an extra dish of French fries in the middle of my meal because I briefly commented on the side of its size.(I LOVE fries). Hahah Get the fries and the sausage. Much better than other bbq in the area.

Grand Prairie ISD had an event for their special education program tonight. Mike’s was kind enough to prepare A LOT of food free of charge for this event. I’d like to commend them for their contribution, and also note that it was AMAZINGLY good food. The sauce was unlike any other! Thank you so much for giving to the community in such a delicious way. I will be back frequently now that I know you’re there, and will tell everyone I know about your fine establishment!

I tried a few different BBQ places in my 4 weeks in Dallas, and this is by far the best that I have had. When I think of real Texas BBQ Mike’s real pit BBQ is what I imagined. The service was the equivalent to getting a home cooked meal from my mom. Loved it, nothing bad to say.

Really liked the ribs and sausage, brisket was a tad bit dry, however their good bbq sauce took care of that… very friendly and inviting, would defiantly go back!

Great family offering finger licking BBQ! The place was a mixing pot of Texas pride, local police, military, along with locals filled the tables. We were greeted by Mo, Mike’s sweet daughter who offered suggestions and even a tasty sample. I had a delicious and huge beef stuffed baked potato that the lady behind me said was amazing. Boy was she right! Tender falling off the bone ribs and yummy sides. Would highly recommend.

Tried the sliced brisket and turkey. Turkey was moist and well cooked, the beef was a little dry. I would have liked a better smoke ring and flavor on both meats. Portions were good size for the price. Staff was friendly and place has look and feel of a Texas BBQ joint. Was not crazy about the BBQ sauce, glad I got it on the side. This is a solid average place not bad but nothing I would go out of my way for.

We stumbled upon this place accidentally. I was looking for catered food for 8 people in the Grand Prairie area. I ordered beef brisket, potato salad, green beans, and a gallon of sweet tea. The beef and BBQ sauce were excellent! The potato salad mustardy and a nice complement to the meat. The green beans are just ok, but I have high standards for green bean(I look for bacon bits usually but theirs don’t have it, but that’s fine). They packed plates, forks/knives, Solo cups and a Mrs. Baird loaf of Texas Toast bread, but no butter :-/The order was properly packed and ready to go as soon as I got there. Fast, efficient service and they helped me load it into my car. I would come back here again.
