So, I’m not from around here. Grew up around here, but have lived away for more than 20 years. All that being said, I have a VERY rough idea of where things are in the Northeast Metro Grand Rapids area. Came to the area to help with my cousins wedding at an apple orchard. Beautiful venue and I was responsible for arranging the flowers. I’m unsure of where the blame lay, but we did not have NEAR enough flowers for the bride’s vision of what the reception would look like. Five hours before the ceremony, I’m frantically trying to find a florist who could supply me with green, white and purple flowers on short notice. In addition, I didn’t have time to drive all over creation trying to find them. After looking at the local Meijer and D&W, who had NOTHING,(when did the stop doing«build your own bouquets?!?) I decided to hop on Unilocal and see what I could find. I just started calling everyone within 10 minutes drive of where I was. Kennedy’s was the third call. So stinkin’ friendly on the phone! Yes, they had greens! Yes, the had several different white flowers that would work. No, they were very low on purple, but they’d do what they could. The women at Kennedy’s saved the wedding flowers! They helped us choose items that would be the most cost-effective and yet look much like the flowers we had already been using. The check out was incredibly smooth too! And the quality of the items? 100% better than the items the bride ordered from the wholesaler. In fact, at times it was embarrassing how much better Kennedy’s flowers were than the others in the first bouquets we did. OH, and I wish I wasn’t just running in and running out because I would have LOVED to shop in their boutique! Maybe I’ll make a special trip just for that… Anyway, thank you, Kennedy’s Floral Shop. You were definitely a 5 star stop in our frantic floral search!

The gifts, décor & novelty items for sale here are great. However, the flowers don’t last long. A family member ordered an arrangement from Kennedy’s for my grandfathers funeral, and it looked beautiful for a few hours on the first night of visitation but shortly after all of the flowers in the arrangement were dying. It was the first arrangement to die of all of the flowers from various local Grand Rapids florists. Disappointing.

We used Kennedy’s for our wedding flowers. The woman that helped us did an amazing job helping me pick out the flowers we wanted. This was really important because I know very little about flowers and I had no clue what I wanted.(Except for wanting to using local growers if at all possible.) She is the only thing that saves Kennedy’s from getting a terrible review. A few months before the wedding one of my grandfathers died. So we no longer needed the boutonnière for him. We notified Kennedy’s at the two week point. At the wedding his boutonnière was still there. Awkward. The day before the wedding I received a call from Kennedy’s saying my flowers had arrived, but most of them were in really bad shape. I told them to just do what they could. Bad shape was an understatement. The flowers at the reception were in awful shape. They could have added sunflowers from another farm, or at least told me the flowers would probably not hold up for 48 more hours. According to our contract we were not responsible for returning the vases we rented. Yet Kennedy’s never sent anyone to pick the vases up. So we got a call, a few days after our wedding, from the venue wondering if we were going to come pick them up. I called Kennedy’s and they said they would call us back. A few hours latter they still hadn’t. So we went to the venue to pick things up, but Kennedy’s had already been there! With out calling us to say don’t bother, we will take care of this. When I did get a hold of someone they said, oops this happens a lot. Why? We never saw the refund for the boutonnière. At that point why bother? And we moved out of state. I would only use Kennedy’s for picking up fresh flowers or for their gift shop. They are just too unorganized.

My fiancé ordered me flower’s from here when he proposed to me. They are GEORGOUS! Not only that, they make the whole room smell just divine. It was such a romantic evening and these flowers were a great accent to the evening.
