Chef Jason did not disappoint! Hired him for a dinner party for 8 and he delivered the goods. He was charming and talented. The food was terrific(asparagus salad, shrimp with pesto, beef tenderloin cooked on individual hot rocks, a delicious sorbet, apples flambé), the kitchen was spotless when he left. He does events big-to-small and I would highly recommend him! He’s very responsive, professional and easy to work with. Thank you, Chef Jason!

A wonderful friend gave me the gift of a personal chef to prepare a special dinner for my 60th birthday. As a professional chef, the most intimidating aspect of planning my wedding was the food. My husband and I interviewed many of the local caterers without any luck, discovering that each of the companies we tasted with were essentially interchangeable with each other. Lucky for us, we were referred to Chef Jason. Chef Jason is an incredible asset to the catering scene in Grand Rapids. Most caterers will cook your food hours before an event– plate it, load it into a hot box, and drive it to the venue where it will sit for another variable amount of time. Chef Jason seems to be more ‘restaurant’ minded, meaning he prefers the food to be prepared as close to consumption as possible to maintain superior freshness and quality. Jason was happy to compose a custom menu for us. He dealt with an insane amount of emails from a detail oriented, obsessive(chef) bride, always with the patience of a saint. He met with us three times, never rushed us into a decision, and was so thoughtful that he brought our tasting into my workplace due to my demanding professional schedule. On the day of our wedding he was there, calm and collected. Food was executed to perfection: golden roasted chicken with truffled risotto and roasted squash, fork tender braised beef with a port crème sauce and roasted vegetables, and a gluten free VEGAN dish my veg-head friends will NOT stop raving about. Service was smooth, available and noninvasive. They went above and beyond cutting cake(without a cake cutting fee) and scooping Love’s Ice Cream. Did I mention his wife bakes cakes with a bad ass butter crème? Adorable Chef duo! My husband and I would like to thank Everyday Chef and crew for the time, energy and creativity poured into our wedding to make it a truly memorable event. I hired Chef Jason for my sister’s bachelorette party. I wanted a relaxed atmosphere with excellent food… Chef Jason was perfect for the job. With my sister’s many food allergies, he was extremely accommodating and made sure that she was able to eat everything on the menu. The presentation was perfect, and he even did a pasta making demo and a flambé’ dessert. It was so nice to come in on a Friday evening and have everything taken care of while being well fed.
