Don’t miss this moment. We stopped in at 9am on a cool December morning and Grace could not have been more welcoming. Spinach turnovers –incredible. The setting — So cute, hip and cozy. The best stop on our Palm Springs to Portland road trip. We got a mile down the road and came back to stock up on chicken pot pies, turnovers, cookies, and jams. Coffee great too.

Best everything!!! Service is so friendly and chocolate chip cookies are my favorite especially if you can happen to get a hot one!!! Turnovers and pot pie crusts are buttery and good!

Best turnover/pie have ever tasted! Beautiful light, flaky crust with sugar sprinkles. Pear and both berry types were my favorite. Wish we had bought a chicken pot pie to go. Was so excited they were even open on a November Tuesday morning. Will definitely go out of our way just to stop here again. Got some jams to go too. So yummy!!!

My daughter and I had the chance to visit after rafting down the Rogue River. Betty and one of her daughter’s spoke with us for over 30 minutes about cooking, baking, and so much more. The food is simply stunning in its quality and total deliciousness but even more importantly the family is absolutely 110% super fantastic. If you are anywhere near Grants Pass OR and don’t go here. You have missed one of the great things in life.

If you’re traveling on the Jacksonville/Williams Highway, Pennington Farms is a fantastic stop. I’ve been a fan of their jams(marionberry, blueberry and peach conserve!) for some time, as I can pick them up here in Ashland at the farmer’s market or grocery store. I recently found myself in their farmhouse, while enroute to Portland from the Applegate. My husband and I stopped for a late breakfast and coffee. We shared a savory turnover(spinach, mushroom and swiss) and a sweet(the highly suggested apple). Both were absolutely delicious! The pastry was incredibly flaky, perfectly buttery and the fillings were equally amazing.

I haven’t yet been to the Grants Pass Barn, but I have been to Pennington Farms booth at the Rogue Valley Growers Market in Ashland. Their Ollaberry turnover was to die for. The jams and cookies weren’t too shabby either. And like peeling back an onion, this place has been worth at least several repeat visits.

Sam Pennington, the surfer, has done a fantastic job converting a rustic barn into the most incredible bakery and berry farm. The berry pies are amazing and the cookies are scrumptious. This is a great stop to stock up on super fresh, organic, pies and many other fresh baked goods on the way out of the Oregon vineyards.

These guys are great! They have a cool storefront which is a barn converted into a magical bakery/retail store front full of jams, and seasonal baked goods. A fresh peach turnover from this place was one of the best things I have ever eaten. The molasses cookies are the best.

What do you get when you mix led zepp, delectable aromas, sliding wooden screen doors, rustic seating in the sun, and fresh molasses cookies in a jar? Orygunism as it’s best. A must stop when calories are low. Or you have a need for host gifts. Always get that which is freshly baked. Makes all the difference.

I went to Pennington Farms a couple weeks ago while driving back home to Southern California. I love the jams/preserves here. We looked everywhere to get Marionberry Jam all over Grants Pass and Ashland. Finally a worker at Babes Bakery recommended Pennington Farms. We bought about 10 containers of Jam to bring back as gifts. Everyone loved the Marionberry & Tay berry jam. The owner is very friendly and for a place that is literally in the middle of no where. While we were there they have a lot of locals come by here and buy jam and berries. If you love jelly and are in Grants Pass come by Pennington Farms.

The Pennington family operate a bakery, market and B&B on Highway 238 between Williams and Applegate in the Applegate Valley. They also sell their jams, pies, savories and cookies at the growers markets in Grants Pass, Medford and Ashland. Their jams and pastries are excellent. Berries are home-grown. The small jars of jams make great gifts.

I had the opportunity to visit Pennington Farms this past weekend and was I impressed. From the amazing jams/preserves to the pastry perfections I could not get enough! I highly recommend the Tayberry and golden raspberry jams. Also the peach cobbler and turnovers were fantastic. If you are in the area it is worth the drive. You will not be disappointed.

We had the best savory pastry since our trip to England… so we can’t blame it on the american flour… we just have to perceiver because if the Pennington family can do it… maybe we can! The jam is also amazing!

We visited here before heading to the Oregon caves, late in the afternoon, looking for something to eat for a late lunch. Sam greeted us as we walked up to the store. As it was late in the day, they were out of their famous savory turnovers, but Sam said he still had a small rice & bean pie. We took the pie, and Sam brought us out plates and water so we could enjoy our pie at the picnic table in the shop! Sam also put together an ice cream sandwich especially for my mom. It was the perfect lunch. After our savory pie, we sampled some jam, which was indeed«killer»(as per Sam’s description). It was worth the drive out to the farm, and, Sam told us about a shortcut to get to the Oregon Caves which saved us about 15 — 20 minutes of driving.

They are delicious as a pastry shop with desserts and brewed self-serve coffee. But for the real treat, they have some of the best and most unique berry preserves and syrups you can find anywhere, with an assortment of gift items. I believe they close during winter months, but don’t quote me on that.
