The Bead Merchant and Yarn Supply

This cute little store would be great for those looking for larger beads or jewelry making tools. As far as yarn and knitting, their selection is rather limited. I love how it’s separated by colors, however, if you’re looking for yarn enough for a sweater, then you may need to check elsewhere. I didn’t see any knitting needles nor crochet hooks, but I could have missed it. Seed beads are rather limited as well.
Customer service was rather surprising. If you’re the type of shopper that loves to be ignored. This is the perfect store for you. I’m not like that, so I had this feeling that maybe they don’t need my business, even when the store was empty. They had some brands that I’ve never seen before, so it was wonderful to feel them in person.
If I’m in the area, and in desperate need of yarn, then I may return but I think they need to rethink their store and what they want to be. It’s like people trying to do too much at one time and not getting anywhere. They don’t have enough inventory to keep knitters happy in my opinion.

I went to this bead store just recently and they’re just as good as last time. The name of the store has changed to ‘The Bead Merchant and Yarn Supply’ and the amount of yarn in the store has seemed to be more than last the first time I visited them.
The selection of beads all is fairly unique, and primarily is divided between strands and singles. There is a seed bead section as well with tubes of beads, but in my opinion the store boasts a larger amount of gemstone/​czech beads than seed beads.
They have a selection of findings to choose from which also has unique items in it that you can buy loose. I do not think they sell their findings in any packages, but I could be wrong.
They also have a selection of jewelry making tools as well as all sorts of knitting type things, needles and such.
I’m not a good judge of how good their yarn stock is, or how unique/​varied, or even what types of yarn you can buy there since I am not into any fiber type crafts. To me it seemed that the store was split pretty evenly between beads and yarn and that the selection was pretty large.
The store also sells some finished pieces of jewelry as well as knitted/​crocheted things, but that’s almost to be expected from any supply store.
The staff/​owner was very helpful to a couple people who came in while I was there and was also very friendly. She also was mindful of my browsing and did not bother me or hover, although she was there swiftly when I needed help getting a particular strand of beads disconnected from the rest. It was really a good experience and the atmosphere was relaxing because of it.
As far as pricing, I’d call it fair. Yes there were some beads that I did not buy too many of, or didn’t buy more than one of, but everything was of good quality. I did not see any chipped or broken beads while I perused the wares, nor really any mis-​placed beads either.
In short, bead shopping here may cost you a little more than you’d pay elsewhere, but the quality of the beads and the unique aspect may be worth it to you. Especially since there isn’t really any other stores in that area. I think this store is worth going to.

I love this store! It has a very interesting bead selection; many items are very unique — not what you find in the large craft stores. And you can get nickel-​free findings!
I was trying to make a pin for a friend and couldn’t figure out how to decorate the pin back. The lady at the front counter (I can’t remember her name) helped me to find a square shaped piece with little holes that I can use to connect to the pin back with wire. The larger craft stores try to help with these types of questions, but they don’t have the same experience and creativity.
Also, this time I noticed some very interesting classes being offered (they have examples at the front counter of what you will make in the class).
