Great food and great service! This place is very cozy/chic inside. The food was wonderful. The service was great too. We had a business meeting and the waiter was very respectful of that. He made sure our drinks were always full(mostly coffee and water) and was quick and precise! All the orders came out perfectly. I got a chicken salad sandwich. It was sooooo good. It had pecan and grapes and really hit the spot. Most everyone else got breakfast food and really enjoyed it. I’m glad we got to try this place. I will definitely be back, maybe next time for dinner. Knowing how well they do brunch, I’m hopeful that their steaks will be great too! I should also add that it was so clean. I do love a clean restaurant and this place was spotless!

We came for a Sunday late lunch with friends and I give Mac’s a solid three stars. I had the French dip sandwich and liked it, especially the au jus. The beef could have had more flavor. Fries were good. Yummy shared salad had several types of lettuce and feta, but too much dressing. My husband enjoyed his chicken fried chicken a lot and would come back for it. The fruit salad bar was as advertised. Totally agree with William L that Mac’s owners could spend some $ on décor. It felt stark, not warm, not upscale, no ambiance whatsoever. Pros: the communal salad was tasty, Good chicken-fried chicken, nice downtown location Cons: lacks ambiance, prices for sandwiches and bistro fare are high, salad was drowned in dressing Tip: sit by the window and enjoy downtown view.

This is hands down one of my favorite restaurants in Fort Worth. There are many restaurants on Unilocal which receive great ratings for little reason, but few which receive mediocre ratings for the wrong reasons. Mac’s is held to a higher standard than most restaurants and many Unilocalers have failed to convey this in their reviews. Their fried chicken is, in my opinion, the best in the metroplex, and their steaks are consistently delicious. Their homemade salad dressing is to die for, and they offer some of the best cheesecakes I have ever had. I have spent my entire life enjoying the great restaurants that DFW has to offer. Restaurants with such consistent excellence are few and far between, give this place a shot.

Macs was a regular dining place for me and my husband at the Colleyville location, but actually thought it was out if business when the doors at that location closed. We were happy to find the new location and planned our anniversary dinner there. I was disappointed with the lack of ambiance; it felt cold and somewhat austere. As for the food, the bread and salad were as I remembered, but the Steak Pepperonata was very different. The filet was prepared and cooked well, but the sauce too strong and too much of it. It became overpowering and I could not finish it. My husband’s NY strip was good. Dessert which was an apple pastry was mediocre. The scoop of vanilla/cinnamon ice cream was more like a tablespoon. We may try lunch there, but not the best for a romantic dinner. Sure do miss the old Mac’s.

One of my all time favorite restaurants! I’ve been coming here since I was a baby and the food has always been top notch. Any time I have had an issue, it has always been taken care of again. If you had a bad time, do not miss out on this place. Give it another chance and it’ll amaze you! Great prices too.

Food was amazing! Great service but a bit slow. To be fair, we were with a large group. Try the signature prime rib.

I come here quite a bit with my in laws. It used to be right by us in colleyville/grapevine, but moved to main street about a year ago. This place is just okay. We never come here without our in laws mainly because it’s very overpriced and just lacks a wow factor. We do really enjoy the bread and prime rib. They also serve many yummy chicken dishes. I always sub whichever random side they give you for the mashed potatoes because they’re yummy!

Pretty good but not great. Came here with 4 of us in town for a conference. Pros: good wine list and drinks menu. Prices were fair. Rib eye steak was good and they let me substitute potato for spinach. The manager stopped by to ask how everything was. They let us get 4 separate checks. Cons: We were sat at a terrible table upfront until I asked if we could have the open booth instead. Everyone was glad I asked to move tables. The group salad bowl was not good. Individual salad would have been better. The bread was meh. The service was decent but not a lot of listening going on.

This restaurant makes somewhat decent quality food, but it lacks flavor, especially for the astronomical prices. The gumbo, for example, has a weak roux — no nuance detected. The salad is overdressed and overtly vinegary. Decent but uninspired food notwithstanding, Mac’s is simply not a fun place to be, unless one’s idea of atmosphere is a stark cafeteria a few steps down from Luby’s. The worst part, though, is Mac’s mean manager, Harvey, who seems dedicated to creating a poor experience for customers. When asked if everything was ok, we tried to explain how my friend’s steak was undercooked. Harvey told her, ‘I will not be buying your meal!’ and stormed off. Im happy to buy my own meal, thank you, but I will no longer buy boring food in a boring atmosphere with a RUDE manager.

The wife and I celebrated our daughter-in-law’s birthday at Mac’s on Main last night, Service and food quality were excellent. The pork chops were outstanding. Very generous portions, were more than I could possibly eat. Pricing was very fair on food items as well as bar service. Always our favorite for any occasion.

Been to Mac’s twice. Once for lunch and once for dinner. I recommend for good quality lunch fare. Dinner? I would look elsewhere until management can fix a few things. There is a disparity between the price and the offering. This is actually a $$$ location according to the menu rates. It shouldn’t be. I feel like I overpaid. The size of the portions are great! That and the demeanor of the wait staff are the only things that should NOT change. The quality of the plates seems sub-par and lacking. First, the décor… Kick it up a notch. Pay for higher-end tables and chairs. It makes a difference. You have an amazing location and better potential. I had the tuna steak. It was cooked okay but it didn’t taste fresh. The portion was über-generous, but more than I could eat(what a waste). My side: The green bean with garlic was a good flavor combination. Try making it without using chopped garlic in a jar. Fresh garlic is a good start.

The manager Harvey told my table that we needed to leave because there was a two year old was runny around too much. Not only were we the only customers in that part of the building but we were also spending close to 500 $ and was asked to leave before we received are food. Never been treated like that by a restaurant in my life. If you have kids, do not come here you will not be welcomed.

I gave macs a two star bc of the waitress she was great but the food was horrible they cannot cook seafood I had a lobster tail at $ 34 for the special and I sent it back to get cooked right it was way over cooked and rubbery .i use to live on the coast and know how seafood is cooked I should have went to Dino’s down the street ! I got it the second time still over cooked I was completely disappointed. Yet they wanted me to pay for it and give me a free desert ! I will never go back !!! Awful lobster is not hard to cook !! My husband had a bone in prime rib and it was great and he ate all of it wonderful flavor ! The desert I got was supposed to be a turtle cheese cake I got the cheese cake with grinned up nuts and covered in a pool of chocolate syrup. Not turtle cheese cake. Very very disappointed with this manager and food …

Since moved from Colleyville they are just terrible. It’s like the owners just feel asleep. I still frequent the store in Arlington, none of the managers or waitstaff there ever have any idea why nothing ever gets better at Grapevine. Very sad great location!

I expect better food, better service, and much better atmosphere when I am spending $ 75 for two people. I had prime rib which was just sitting on the plate swimming in juice and all the while my baked potato getting soggy. Waitress only checked on us twice, one of which was after we had our meal. Didn’t even off dessert. Won’t be back.

We used to go Macs off 121 and Glade. We were really excited to go to the new Macs on Main to try it out. Need less to say we were disappointed. Parking is not easy, the bar has limited seating and most of the staff are young and clueless. We ordered drinks waited 15 minutes, we were asked to take our food order before our drinks were served. We waited 5 more minutes and walked out. It felt like it was opening week and no one had a clue. Macs on Main has been open 4 months so they have no excuse. We won’t be back. So sad because we miss it, Added: I just noticed a few glowing reviews on this place. The owner/manager responded! You would think they would want to apologize to those of us that had a bad experience, not the ones that lied and said they loved this place…

Let me start by saying that I can’t believe anyone has had a bad experience in this establishment. You are greeted and welcomed in. The suggested meals were outstanding and coupled with excellent wine. The staff seemed to always be one step ahead. They seemed to know what was going on in every area. I questioned how long some of them worked there and it’s 10+ years!!! That says a lot for the owners of any restaurant. The food and wine pairing is something I would recommend to allow them to suggest. I’ve been coming for a while and have not been disappointed yet. Please enjoy.

We went to Macs on Main this evening as part of restaurant week. The choices for the 3 course dinner were fantastic ! The owner, Rena, visited our table shortly after our arrival. She confirmed the message I left in Open Table regarding food allergies. This was an appreciated gesture. Service, atmosphere and food were outstanding !! We will definitely return.

I’ve never had such a terrible experience. It’s a day later and I’m still upset. It was that bad. If you wanted to be treated like a second-class citizen in a place that isn’t even remotely high end, then by all means, eat here. I’ve eaten here a couple times and the food is average at best. The last two times the wait staff was terribly rude with this last time being the worst. They over cooked a filet. When asked to fix it, they said they would only charge her for one – not both. You think? Then, they took so long, the other 5 of us were done eating and had our tabs paid before her medium rare filet was done. Unbelievable. The owner not only made her pay for it, he wouldn’t let her take leftovers of any of her food. He literally came and snatched a to-go box away from her. The waiter was repeatedly rude and condescending to many of the guests at our table. We were left speechless many times after he walked away. I would understand if we had been rude and deserved the treatment, but we were nothing of the kind. I would be shocked if this place makes it another year, honestly. You can’t treat people badly in this area and not expect them to go up the street for a meal. They will. We won’t be back.

Great food, service, and location! Went to celebrate my anniversary with my significant other on a Saturday night. We went to the old location and were heartbroken, at first! Then we realized they had moved and decided to go to their new location. We found parking in the deck connected to the building and walked in and immediately were seated. The waitress(Hunter) was extremely nice and was constantly checking on us. The food was excellent; just like the old place! We started off wit the salad and bread and then both had steaks, perfectly cooked to our desired preference. We will definitely be coming back!

Soooooo date night for hubby and I and we wanna try something new. I’ve passed this place a bagillion times on my way home from work so we tried it… We ventured here on a Saturday evening and honestly there wasn’t a terribly long wait. The place was very modern and cute in my opinion. Lemme tell ya the crab cakes are THEBOMB.COM if you go on a date and order this for an appetizer do yourself a favor and order two. We both had prime rib and shrimp with the Mac and cheese and I added asparagus. The steak was superb! The shrimp however were horrible. They were terribly over cooked and rubbery. The sides were pretty good. We shared key lime pie for dessert which was meh. Wasn’t great but wasn’t terrible either. The reason I gave 3 stars was although the steak was like butter and the crab cakes were phenomenal I feel that it was waaaayyy over priced for the overall deal. Especially with the crappy shrimp, I could have maybe excused it if just one of us were served the rubber shrimp but we both had the same complaint. We may decide to give this place another shot but probably not anytime soon.

I’ll give you a dollar if this place makes it through 2015. Service was fine, atmosphere better than most, and we love Mac’s. Our food here just wasn’t good. I have been to Mac’s off 121 and in Montgomery Plaza. Will still return. Unfortunately, I just can’t see myself or family returning to this Grapevine location unless I have someone give a strong recommendation. So disappointed.

I personally love the décor and atmosphere… Unfortunately not only myself but several locals I spoke with confirmed… They need to work on the food and wait staff… Steak was dry over cooked and tasteless … Shrimp was cold sent back and way later returned warmer… Baked potato was good.(lol) Njoyed the piano! Please work on your food and paying closer attention to details with your clientele!

I loved the old location. Now… it’s interesting. Lots of great stuff but with some not so great stuff. The great: — The food is amazing. I’ve had several dishes but my favorite is the chicken fried steak. Possibly the best I’ve ever had. — The service was fantastic. Attentive, but not overbearing. — Having a drink at the bar during Happy Hour is very nice. The not so great: — The interior decorating. The cold, gray modern look really is a turn off. — The interior seating. If you’re seated in the main area, it feels like you’re packed into a diner. If it’s busy, this area is extremely loud and it’s hard to have a conversation. So, it’s OK. Pretty good if you go during a non-peak time.

To start Macs has only been in this location since October of 2014. Meaning they have had about two months here so I can’t just base all of my experiences here off of one visit. I will come back in a few months to look for improvements. To start off I went in for a late lunch around one on a Thursday. When I entered I had no idea if I was to seat myself or grab a table since the hostess stand was empty and no signs told me to do anything. After a minute or two a waitress and a waitress in training spotted me and brought me to a table and brought over a menu and my waiter who was equally as new as the restaurant. I was given a menu and the waiter scurried away to grab my drink. After a few minutes the waiter returned and I ordered a burger and house salad. Unfortunately, the waiter did not offer any opinions except that no matter what I ordered was the best thing on the menu. The salad came out with a side of bread. The salad and bread were both decedent and filling. While I was waiting for burger the manager stopped by for a bit of chitchat about how they are still adjusting to the new location and staff. The manager was a nice fellow and explained some of the issues they were having just opening in a new location. After the manager left and I finished my salad I played the waiting game of about 20 minutes until my meal arrived. The sandwich was good as were the fries with decent portions. Overall this place could use some work but it is worth a try, just make sure you are not in a hurry.

I have been going to Mac’s in Colleyville for years, and have been a frequent patron at the new location in Grapevine as well. I love the food, atmosphere, and staff in Grapevine, just as I did at the previous location. Mac’s is known for their Prime Rib, and rightfully so, as It is, in my opinion their most phenomenal dish! Their other entrees and appetizers are incredible as well. Basically, anything you order is going to be excellent and will leave you with a smile on your face. I don’t understand some of the previous reviews shown stating that the restaurant has a cold, uncomfortable feel. In my personal opinion, those saying that are being excessively critical of an awesome restaurant with great food. Sure, the restaurant has a more modern feel than the previous, but for some it seems they’re having issues dealing with the change. If you give it a fair chance to make your own opinion, I’m sure you’ll see what I see in Mac’s.
