I was in Grapevine for a conference and someone recommended Mi Dia. My husband and I jumped in an Über and made the 2 mile journey. This place is freaking amazing!!! Our server, Tiffany, was delightful. She made it such a pleasant experience and did an amazing job of checking in on us and making sure we had everything we needed. My husband ordered the sea bass tacos and I had the Mi Dia salad with chile glazed salmon. We also ordered cocktails, the Mexican Candy and the Moscow Mule that had Tequila and jalapeño. You wouldn’t think a salad was craveable but this thing was finger licking good! The tacos were amazing as well. The chips and salsa when you are waiting for your food were also excellent. Run, don’t walk! This place is amazing!!!

Went in with my wife and in-laws for dinner at 6:30 on a Friday. Place was insanely packed, 45 minute wait. We were seated at table 54. Emily was our server. She was awesome. We had a great time joking with her, she rolled with it and she provided top notch service all night. Shannon tried to shark her table. We indulged her, had some light hearted banter and she rolled with the punches also. The ambiance is high energy and high class. The food is as expected for the price point. Sea bass tacos and table side quac hit the spot. Excellent drink menu. Go check it out, but be patient. Otherwise, go to Chili’s. We’ll see you again soon Emily! Oh, and take advantage of that valet on weekend nights!

The food here is really good and the service was great as well. I knew once I took a bite of the chips and salsa that we were in for a good meal. If you are in Grapevine, TX, check this place out for good Mexican food!

This is a beautiful restaurant. The food is fantastic and the atmosphere is well… it’s great. We doubled with some good friends and the staff couldn’t have been nicer. From our hostess to our waiter, the service was great. We were introduced to the Tequila Tower where they keep like 150 tequilas on hand. Why? Who the heck cares… There were probably about 50+ types of Margaritas and we all settled on something different and they were fantastic. They’re pricey for the heavily iced drink, but tasty nonetheless. We opted for Tableside Guac and it was very good… could’ve used a pinch more garlic salt, but served with fresh chips and fresh tortillas, it’s a winner. Friends shared the duck carnitas while we dove into the carne asada w/relleno. Both were very good. So if this was so great, why only 4 stars? Honestly, it is overpriced for the amount of food & drink received. Very good, but a little steep. And I’ve got no problems paying for good food, but I expect to come away with doggy bags or just stuffed to the gourd… LOL Anyway, this is a wonderful experience in a beautiful setting. Definitely worth a shot… or two ;)

Excellent prompt service w/authentic Mexican cuisine! I’d come back. Easy & free parking w/friendly service most importantly delicious food!!! The hibiscus champagne margarita is made w/dry ice so it’s bubbling for a good 15 minutes once it’s placed on your table. The fresh quac is a must. I had the scallops with huge asparagus & corn. Nothing was too spicy or too salty.

Had a great dinning experience the other night as part of a business trip to the Dallas area. Mi Dia from Scratch had the full authentic Mexican experience from the bar packed full of tequilas of all kinds and a menu of classics like fajitas to rate specialities. Most interesting was the frosted tequila tap with patron coming out to chilled perfection. The assortment of margaritas was impressive and my guests made a respectable dent in the list. The Chilean sea bass soft tacos(4) were played nicely with purple cabbage as equally pretty as delicious. They were fabulous, although at $ 25 a bit pricy compared to other menu options. Another of us enjoyed the flank steak and the ribs were fall off the bone delicious too. The wait staff was friendly and helpful by answering questions and making recommendations to out party. We will be back for sure next trip.

Yum! Table Side guac with bacon is so delicious. The only catch is that it wasn’t made tableside for us-it was happening all around for others but not us. It was realllly good– so good thing or else they would get less stars from me. Carne asada chili relleno was also SO good– only mad i could not eat it all and no fridge where i was going to eat leftovers. My buddy got the cochinita pibil, which was brought to the table wrapped in banana leaves and he said it was awesome. The margaritas are super strong too– i just had a tough time finding a drink without agave, but some drinks are great without. This place gets 5 stars in my book!

Mi Dia is one of my co-workers favorite restaurants and close to our office. We often go for lunch to celebrate birthdays. I have been several time and o my once had bad service. The food is always delicious. It’s a high quality Mexican restaurant. The guacamole is seriously one of the best I have ever tasted. While they make it in front of you and out the regular things in it including onions, tomatoes, jalapeños and bacon, there has to be some secret ingredient they include because everyone that has tried it loves it. While queso is good, the guac is to die for or to bath in… lol. I have tried several delicious items here including their quesadillas, enchiladas, fajitas, etc but the last two times I have been there I got the Mi Dia salad and it’s not just any salad. I also get it with the red chili chicken, so good! If you want something a bit lighter but with all the flavor, definitely go for this salad. My co-workers also get the grilled chicken breast and love it. Hope you enjoy as much as I do!

We have a mixed review here. First of all the salsa is sooooo spicy! Wow. I like spicy and I couldn’t even eat it. My wife tried one bite and was done. We asked for the gluten free menu for her and it had only four items on it(they said the cheese sauce had flour in it). She settled for some shrimp enchiladas. I had a combo platter with two enchiladas, a steak taco, and a tamale. We also ordered the fresh made at the table guacamole. The guacamole was some of the best I’ve ever had! My combo platter was just mind blowing! Daughter devoured the guacamole and one of my enchiladas and was asking for more. My wife picked through her plate and said it was just boring. Worst part was the price. Way to expensive for the quality/quantity ratio that you receive. It seems like this is a trendy posh bar that is a also a Mexican restaurant. This place has its highlights but I would steer clear.

This is a lovely dining establishment! The service was very nice and attentive. The chips and salsa are addictive! Their salsa is layered: spicy red and spicy verde. Perfect to snack on before the delicious entrée, and I do mean delicious. Their menu has a variety of traditional Tex-Mex to Neo-Mexican cuisine. Be ready to pay the price though. However, it really is worth it if you want a great quality, fresh, delicious meal!

To be honest I expected a lot better in Texas. It was decent but not overwhelmingly fantastic. I definitely have had better Mexican in NJ and NYC. And for the prices I wasn’t wowed. The service was pretty good and the space is nice, I sat at the outdoor patio bar which is a good touch. The chips were good and the salsa good, it definitely had a kick. The house margarita was ok, just regular old sour mix. I would have thought table-side guac would be common in TX but by other reviews it seems it’s not. I had some, it was good but way too much heat and just really subtracted from the flavor. I liked it and the bacon was a nice touch. I ordered the blue enchiladas with the egg on top, I forget the name. It was ok. The ground beef was just like any other run of the mill Mexican joint, I expected a lot more than that and overall the whole thing was a bit bland. Maybe my expectations were too high. I did ask for over hard egg and got big olé runny eggs. I was hungry so I just ate it, but if I came back I’d probably skip this. Overall, it was good, for the price… meh it stays at A-OK to me. It just seemed like a fancier version of every other Mexican restaurant in the US.

LOVE this place! Love the vibe — even at 5:30pm(you gotta come early if you are hungry and don’t want a long wait) — Love the bar — comfy, friendly bartenders and I LOVE mango margaritas! Love the mango margaritas! Did I say that already? MMMmmm Love the waitstaff — I’m sorry I don’t know our servers name but she recently moved here from Colorado but she knew so much about the menu and made great recommendations for us. I had the Baja Shrimp Street Tacos —- so flavorful and huge shrimp!!! The guys at our table loved the ribs — not your typical ribs! Churros for dessert!!! Beautiful setting and great food, my new favorite!!! We don’t mind going to dinner early so that will always be our stratedgy but if you wait until 7−8pm on Saturday night — you will be waiting!!!

I have to say that although Mia Dia has a lovely atmosphere, the food was very disappointing. For an appetizer we had the queso fundido. This was truly the most unappetizing plate of food I have ever eaten. It came in a small skillet and despite the server trying to mix and scrape the quickly hardening mound of cheese into something appealing, the congealed mass that we were left with was something I would never serve to a human. Even if you can look past the texture of this dish, I was surprised that something that has such flavorful ingredients like poblano peppers and chorizo could turn out to be so absolutely bland. For the entrée, I had the Baja Shrimp Tacos. The best feature of the dish was that the plating was pretty. The pickled cabbage added a punch of color but didn’t deliver on the needed acidity to the dish. Then there was the cilantro. Call me crazy, but if you are going to advertise cilantro on a dish, perhaps there should be more than one single sprig of micro cilantro per taco. And I literally mean One. Single. Sprig. The dish was just okay. Nothing special, and certainly not worth the $ 18 price tag for 4 appetizer sized tacos. Maybe I am being super picky, but for the price I expected better. Maybe that fundido soured the rest of the experience for me. Maybe my expectations were too high. Either way, I don’t think I will be making a return visit.

Thank you, local Unilocalers, for letting me know about this gem while in Grapevine for business. A girlfriend and I ventured away from the hotel to enjoy a nice, freshly made, higher-scale, Mexican dinner. My friend had the traditional margarita and I had the blueberry one, and both were delicious. Mine was a little weak, but it tasted great! I had a very hard time deciding what to rider because I wanted everything, and I was kind of disappointed that I couldn’t customize my meal. For example, I wanted to try a few of the specialty tacos as they all sounded amazing. You get 4 per order but you cannot mix and match. You can only get 4 of one kind. Because of that, I didn’t get any of them. I opted for a sampler witch came with 2 enchiladas(I got chicken and spinach), a tamale, and a taco al carbon. The enchiladas were great, the spinach especially. The taco was also really good. I asked for a corn tortilla instead of flour and that request was accommodated. One nice thing is that they have a separate vegetarian menu, which is nice. My friend got the vegetable fajitas and it was loaded with spinach, onions, and peppers. It looked really good! I wanted to try one but was so stuffed from my own food that I didn’t dare. We got the churros for dessert and they were delicious. The chocolate ice cream was not ‘normal’ chocolate ice cream. I can’t put my finger on what the difference was, but it tasted amazing. My 4 stars instead of 5 was because of the service. Our server did not want to be there, at least not at our table. Any request made that was a variation from the menus was met with an eye roll and a sigh.(Corn tortilla instead of flour, sauce on the side, no sour cream, etc.) He was also nowhere to be found. I had to get up to find someone after 10 minutes so we could get some water, and forget about getting another margarita! We ordered them but they never came. Also, when dessert was dropped off, we were not given any utensils. He had cleared them all when he took our plates. I again had to get up and go to the hostess station to get utensils but the ice cream was completely melted by the time they came. It was a bit disappointing. Overall, I’d definitely go back if in town again and I told several coworkers about it as well.

Gonna keep this one short and sweet. Love the ambiance of the place and the patio area is nice when the weather is right. It’s kinda on the pricy side but food is good. Table side gauc is big and super yummy and their drink menu is off the hook! Defiantly a nicer setting and if your going to drink your going to be putting some serious cash down. Drinks range form 10 – 16 bucks a pop… Ouch! But I tried the Mexican candy and it was delicious and I was buzzed after one drink! Mind you I just had a baby a couple months ago and my tolerance isn’t much but still! I will defiantly go again ! Oh and they serve brunch till 3 pm on the Sunday :)

Mi dia is close to where I work. I’ve liked most of their things so far:-) Very vibrant and modern atmosphere. Service is always good. I always get the table side guacamole with everything in it. It’s a lot of guacamole so you may take some home. They always bring you lots of chips and salsa too. I ordered the pollo agave recommended by the server. It was a good recommendation. I liked it a lot. Tasted like chicken fried steak and gravy. We also had some chicken quesadillas. Those were good too. My uncle had the duck tacos. I didn’t try it, but they looked really good. Will come back. The restrooms are nice and clean. This place is always nice and bright and I always take my guests here. Never tried dessert here, will try next time.

Mexican food comes in all shapes and sizes. I can enjoy a $.99 street taco in Ensenada. I crave a $ 5 fish taco at Normita’s. I really enjoy a $ 12 combination plate at Mario’s or Super Mex. The gourmet stuff, though, is something really special. While traveling in Dallas my buddy took me to Mi Dia. Parking was tight as there are four very hot restaurants in the complex. No tables outside but we grabbed a good sized table in the air conditioned inside. Service was a bit in the slow side but the food and drinks were killer. We started a flight of three different tequila samplers. One each of the blanco, reposado and anejo. They also specialize in table-side made gourmet guacamole. Why gourmet? About 11 different fresh ingredients and a real crowd pleasing show. I had the carne asada steak and relleno with super fresh sauce, cheese and flavors. Really decadent. Just a killer meal and a fun place to get your gourmet on.

Tex Mex of all Tex Mex The two major food groups of Texas… Mexican food and good old«Amurikan» cuisine. If you think that the«mexican» food you’re eating at most Mexican spots are authentic Mexican, think again. It’s most likely Tex Mex. Good ol’ Americanized Mexican food. Sipping on that tequila sunrise along with your free Guac and chips… yeah that’s so American you might as well be shooting a gun in the air yelling«yee-haw»! But hey… if you’re going to do it… do it in style… at Mi Dia. That Guac Though… Table side guac cart created as a «authentic» Mexican experience for Americans who need to know what goes in guacamole… let me give you a hint, it’s avocado. It’s not American until you add that bacon… ohhh so fatty and crunchy bacon giving you that perfect bite of heaven. Textually perfect.
