I’m posting an updated review. I like this place, I really do. But they are consistently late. If they say 30 min, it will be an hour. I ordered a «to go» pizza, showed up to pick it up 25 mins later, and watched them make it and put it in the oven in front of me. It was supposed to be ready. I’m done w this place, but wish them well.

Wouldn’t go here with kids again. Took about 29 minutes to take the order. Before he did the server went around the table handing out straws one. At. A. Time. The last thing people with kids want to waste time on. Then took 25 minutes for first pizza to arrive. Then 15 more for the other three:… Wouldn’t recommend.

The food was ok. Maybe I would have enjoyed it more had our order been correct, or if we would have received it in a timely manner not an hour after we ordered, or if it wasn’t freezing cold in the restaurant. Unfortunately we were not the only ones who had a problem with the long wait for their pizza. The pizza was ok not NY style like the name implies or thin like we requested. We ordered one pizza and chicken wings. As we sat there two walk ins came in for to go orders they ordered and got their pizzas before we did. I understand that they are a new restautant. I hope they find a good balance and make a better attempt to help their dine in customers.

These guys came out with a bang! The New Yorkers are no longer there! I think they changed ownership and the food shows. In the beginning the pizza was better. We ordered take out and the pizza crust had huge air pockets in it… almost like a pitta bread feel. Terrible! Sauce now has a spice to it so the kids won’t eat it. The pizza dough now tastes frozen. Too bad. Wish they didn’t change. because the first few months it was good.

Those that think this is good NY style pizza have never had such. The crust should be crispy chewy. This was just chewy and flavorless. Sauce also lacked flavor. Salad was decent. Fresh and a good portion. Definitely not recommended.

Pie was decent, delivery was horrendous. Be prepared to wait over 2 hours for your food if you order delivery. Not worth it to order again. It was Saturday night, but 2 hours is ridiculous.

I had the stuffed pizza with spinach and mushrooms. It was very good and the portion size was very big. I also tried the calzone and it was also very tasty.

Being from the East Coast, it is challenging to find a good pizza by the slice. The guys behind the counter make you feel right at home. I have come a few times, for lunch and a couple for dinner, I have had the chick parm sub, cheese steak sub, calzone and pizza. I will have to say that the pizza crust could have more flavor, and I agree with another review, that the meat slices could have a bit more grease. That’s just my opinion. I have… and will continue to come here a couple times a week. The guys will make you feel at home and are very servant oriented, always happy and helpful. Great food for the price. Try one of the new lunch specials!!! Almost forgot. Cannolli are excellent!

Silly me. A calzone made with ricotta cheese should have some ricotta texture to it, right? Evidently not at New York Pizza and Pasta at the corner of Revolving Door Newcomer and We Do It Our Way in Grapevine. The last occupant, the dreadful Currytos(awful name for starters), was gone in less than 6 months. Local diners weren’t buying their mix of Indian food and tortillas. I so wanted to love this place. The feta cheese crumbles in the salad in their display case(that’s Greek folks, not any kind of Italian menu item) was a clue that I might not. But oh, the golden crusts of the calzones! Pre-baked, the calzones must be heated. So much for golden. Or flavor, because the pretty crust was now crispy and had none. The three cheeses in the one I ordered ran together indistinguishably until they had the consistency of Lepage’s glue. So much for the ricotta, which was way overwhelmed by the other two cheeses. Handled properly, ricotta is an artful ingredient. It is delicate, and at its best when egg yolks are incorporated into it for fluffiness. I’d bet money this place, like most of Italian-themed eateries that aren’t really Italian, knows nothing of that. They kindly offered to make me something else. I ordered an eggplant parmigiana sandwich. The sauce was excellent, as was the flavor of the eggplant’s breaded crust. The eggplant itself, pre-prepped and frozen, was pure mush. Grapevine is so desperate for food choices that this place might just make it. It wouldn’t take much for them to do some recipe research and improve their product. Even if they don’t — which they probably won’t — they are still better(and cheaper) than most of the other pizza and Italian places in the vicinity of Grapevine. Which isn’t saying much. Except maybe for Fireside Pies, which is a major and overpriced excursion into tiny portions that take forever to arrive. Grapevine, with a tremendous influx of newcomers and a resident base that grows more sophisticated by the week, is currently an unpredictable market and may demand more in the way of authenticity. Currytos, for instance, got a lot of initial interest, refused a lot of advice(like playing it straight and offering naan instead of tortillas) and, of course, was gone in the time it takes to spell«mango chutney.» I’m giving NY Pizza a star for replacing the crispy-gooey calzone. Another for the proper grilling of the sandwich. And one more for being so darned nice. But if you really know Italian food, not the DFW fast casual version, you won’t be impressed. There is far better pizza to be had in Dallas and Ft. Worth.

Service: 5⁄5 –One of the best service I’ve experienced lately. The whole staff makes you feel welcomed and valued. They are patient with you and also quick with your food order Food: 3⁄5 –My party enjoyed their food — one had an eggplant parm sandwich and the other had a single slice of stuffed meat pizza($ 5.50). –I got a single slice of pepperoni($ 3) and felt there was not enough sauce, too much cheese and the crust wasn’t as crispy as I typically like –I will come here again to try their other items and adjust the rating accordingly

Such nice people here! I ordered their eggplant parm sub and gladly scarfed it down. They were generous with the cheese and the bread they use is fantastic. I came back an hour later to try out their pizzas. The stuffed meat pizza was insanely packed with meat– it easily weighed 2 lbs. The pepperoni pizza was lacking a little. I prefer a pizza with a crisp under carriage so if they fix that– their pizza would be perfection. I also got to try their garlic knots and they were pretty good– I really like the marinara sauce that accompanied it. Overall, I’ll gladly come back to try their other dishes :)

Stopped here because we were hungry for some pizza and we were glad that we did. We each ordered a slice — his was Pepperoni and mine the Veggie. Mine was better! He liked his but did not think that it was anything unusual. My veggie had a full and somewhat unusual assortment of veggies, including broccoli which I liked. One slice was more than filling — lots of cheesy goodness. Perhaps the crust could be improved since it was soggy — was it sitting too long prior to my order? We ate inside(clean and pleasant with ample seating). The pizza slice was served on a flimsy paper plate and the plastic fork and knife were not up to the job. Pizza great. Paper plate, fork, knife not so good. We would return if in the area and needed a pizza fix.

This was another one of those«4 or 5 stars?» situations. Recently opened in the old Quizno’s, replacing the… Indian/Curry/Fusion/something or other place that I was really curious about, but never enough to actually try out.(if you’re reading this curry guys… sorry). But I’m always on the lookout for a quick, down and dirty pizza joint, that serves it by the slice, and this fits the bill, and hopefully will do well and continue to serve up what I had the other day. Walk in, counter with line in front. First good sign, pizza and pasta already done behind the counter, awaiting the final bake when ordered. Next good sign, there appeared to be around 5 – 6 different pizzas ready, and one was a gorgeous looking pepperoni. Now, I really like this setup much better than a place that has a couple cheese pizzas ready, then they throw toppings and more cheese on top when you order it. Not sure why, but it just never tastes as good done that way. So far, things are looking good. Got a slice of pepperoni, and a meat lovers slice. The slices are huge(I tellya) hanging over the paper plate, but I got two slices anyway, couldn’t help myself. Grabbed a soda fountain drink. Cost was a little under $ 10. After a short wait to finish em off in the oven the slices made it over to me. This is where the rating decision comes in. The pizza was really good, for the type it is. Just a regular crust is what I got, but it’s high on that scale, so I bumped to five stars. Depending on what type you like, your mileage may vary. When it comes to it, this is the style that I always prefer, and it was just plain good stuff. Pepperoni had just the right amount of, hate to say, «greasiness», but that’s just how I describe it. The meat lover was really good as well, but I love a good, basic pepperoni, and they appear to be making just what I like. Anyway, two slices was more than enough, one would have been enough, and probably will be in the future. Up here in the area several times a month for work, so gonna try to schedule it around lunch when I can. They also have ready to go Calzones, and several stuffed pizzas behind the counter, if that’s your thing, then looks like it can be served pretty quick. I look forward to coming back. Hope they fare better than the Curry Fusion place.

Some great competition has arrived in Grapevines Pizzaverse! I’m very glad I stopped in here the other day to try some awesome NY, NY style pizza. Yeah it’s a new business and the ordering system is a bit off, but this does not take away from the fact that they serve great pizza. What helps is that the guys who work here seem to like being here. This adds to the deliciousness of the meals served here. I ordered the plain cheese slice and a side salad with house dressing, and it filled my pizza craving needs. Yet again a local pizza joint is hands down better then a national chain(excluding Grimaldi’s). The crust of my pizza slice was the perfect thickness and the sauce to cheese ratio was spot on. I’m not sure if their house dressing is home made or bought, but it sure was good. All in all a great lunch experience by yourself or with a crowd, I’m really looking forward to heading back,
