Great place to have a corporate event! We hosted a large group of nurses that were in town for a conference. The staff was very nice and extremely helpful. They explained all of the wines to everyone and made recommendations to those who were unsure of what they would like. The food they served was excellent. The wine selection was very nice and gave our guests several options. I highly recommend Umbra for small gatherings, happy hours or corporate events. Great place, great staff!!!

Went into Umbra Winery for a quick flight tasting with my lady and found one of the best bruschetta’s we’ve ever had. We walked out with a bottle of their Red Fusion. We’d go back.

A co-worker was in town from San Diego and last time she visited she was convinced there wasn’t good wine in DFW. Our office is close to Grapevine and I thought that this area would be perfect to show her one of the hidden charms of the metroplex. After reading reviews I chose Umbra and it didn’t disappoint. It was a cozy bar and sitting area with a great atmosphere. The service was excellent and our waiter helped my co-worker find a few different wines she liked. We also go the cheese and meat board. It was the perfect amount for happy hour. They had great wine specials as well during happy hour. I typically don’t have drinks or happy hour in the burbs but just a reminder this place closes around 9pm. This was a big win for my co-worker from Cali which says a lot. She wants to go back next time she is in town.

The space is very intimate and warm. The bar is lit up and has an awesome look. The wine is very good. Paul was our bartender and he was great! They have a mix of locally produced and«old world wine»

You always wonder about the places that are hard to get into. After walking by Umbra several times over the last few months, we found a window where we could easily get in and enjoy ourselves. This winery has a smaller seating area but you still have enough room to relax without bumping into the people sitting next to you. It’s a little trying for the servers though as they had difficulty navigating and it caused a slow down when helping us. You have several tasting options — Umbra wines, Old World(European) wines, or a combination of the two. We tried the Umbra Wines and were happy with several. A little disappointing that most of their grapes come from Washington state or California, with their Roussane the only«Texas» wine. Their food menu was also good as it provided several options that seemed to complement the wine well. Overall, it was a good experience even with the space shortcomings.

I wasn’t here long enough to give a real review. I had one drink with friends who were wrapping up their happy hour and on their way to dinner. This winery is located in downtown Grapevine, which I think is very quaint and cute. It was very busy on the streets and hard to find a place to walk. This winery was very nice and the service for my one glass was great.

I had some friends come in from out of town who wanted to see cool things in DFW. Wine tasting in Grapevine Main Street tops the list of «uniquely Texan», I thought. There are just so many down there now, you can’t hit them all without not getting drunk. We just went to the ones right on Main. They’re all so cool, however Umbra was the fave of my group. The bar lights up gold and they serve huge glasses of champagne by the glass. One side is a decadent bar, and the other side is a lounge with couches and wine barrel tables. They have one smart simple list– Made by Umbra wines that go from light white to deep reds… And an «Old World» list from white to red. There is a tapas menu, which I had the parmigiana meatballs with grilled ciabatta bread. Bread is delicious and addictive. We loved it. They grilled it hot on each side with olive oil, salt ‘n pepper. The atmosphere is really romantic for couples, and the lounge is great for groups. Nice winery not to be missed if your hitting the spots and seeing the sights in Grapevine! Have a glass then go over to Sloan and Williams for your next tasting :)!!!

I loved the cozy and rustic feeling of this place. I went there to make cake balls with the girls and it was a fun experience. Unfortunately my work of art wasn’t Instagram-worthy so they had to be waffled down quickly lol. Look forward to more events in this winery.

It was but a night before Christmas, and all of Dallas was stirring along Main Street in Grapevine. All the lights were glowing with an ostentatious elegance, while cheerful laughs echoed up and down the street. My feet began to ache, and my mind was beyond boredom, however, a wonderfully crafted chalkboard caught my gaze; featuring the face of the delightful yet humorous Christopher Walken, offering a timeless invitation that pairs wonderfully with linguists’ most beloved phrase, «cellar door»: «Walk right in.» I quickly glanced up – tranced – noticing a dimly-lit, elegant Wine Bar. Seeing as though I was accompanied by my Conservative(non-drinking) family, I threw the idea of a visitation on the back burner… Gas, not electric. It was a mere week elapsing, and I was able to visit Umbra. What a great, quaint, chill place! I HIGHLYRECOMMEND for a «Girl’s Night Out» or a First Date.

I was almost an hour early to meet a work colleague for a glass of holiday cheer, so I took a seat at Umbra to taste some wine as I killed some time. They offer a three-flight tasting for $ 10(2 ounces each). As they offer four reds on the menu I was in a bit of a quandary until my server told me I could taste all four for $ 2 more. Sign me up! Each of the four wines(Merlot, Syrah, Red Fusion & Cab Sauv) were very nice. As usual, the Cabernet was my favorite. The ambience is very cool, featuring a back lit bar that has to be seen in person to be fully appreciated. Outstanding!

Perfect place for a girl’s night out! My girlfriends and I were strolling around downtown Grapevine looking for a quiet place we could chat and have a few drinks. When we passed Umbra we knew we had found the place! We walked in and we greeted by a very cheery bartender. My friends decided to sit over on one of the couches and I sat on one of the cube stools. I quickly switched to the couch with them. This is my only complaint of this place is the awkwardness of those stools but really the awkwardness was probably me just not knowing how to gracefully sit on them so I can fault them for that! I loved the flights of wine with the 3 different samples for only $ 10! The red fusion was to die for! I will definitely be back for that treat. The cheese place was also a delight in my mouth. I am so thankful we stumbled upon this joint and I can’t wait to go back! Perfect for a girl’s night or date night(if I can convince my husband to drink wine for one evening!)

This is a great little winery that just popped up less than a year ago on Main Street in Grapevine. The wine was good and the interior was modern and confortable. When we ordered our tasting trio, the waitress had goofed up 2 of our 3 wines. Lucky for us, we got to keep the 2 goofs and got our original wines, as well. There is a Unilocal offer when you check in. However, because we were there during a craft beer festival we weren’t able to use them. Weird. Even though it was a beer festival(and we were drinking wine — at a winery) we could not use the check-in. Hmmm.

Had the white sangria it was excellent and excellent Price for $ 12 a carafe I also ordered the prosciutto and melon with goat cheese, the marinara meatballs, and the mozzarella tower. All the apps were great the prosciutto was so tasty, goat cheese was high Quality. The bread they serve it with was soft buttery and slightly tasted. Would definitely come back and try more of their wines and cheeses.

We stopped by here while checking out Grapevine Texas. We are glad we did. We chatted at length with a sweetheart bartender(young lady) and sampled their wines. We aren’t «wine-o’s» so we can’t tell a great wine from a good one. Their wines were decent and the prices were also. Bottom line: Order the White Sangria!

My cousin and were strolling Main Street in Grapevine, and decided to stop here for a wine tasting. It looked like a cool lil’ spot from the outside window. The inside décor is perfect for a wine spot. It’s very pretty with soft lighting. We sat at the bar which has a really gorgeous top on it(see pic). You get 3 samples for $ 10. The samples are nicely sized pours. You can even select a frozen sangria or peach bellini as one of your samples — this is really nice on a hot day. The place was packed, and there were only 3 waiters working, so understandably, it took a while to be served. My cousin & I didn’t mind since we were not in a hurry, and all 3 of the waitresses apologized repeatedly for the wait :-). Wait staff was friendly, but really working hard that day. Our samples were delicious and we were given an extra sample to split due to the wait. We would have ordered appetizers, but overheard another(not so nice customer) complaining loudly about the wait for her food. {You don’t normally go to a wine bar for food, or when you’re really hungry.} One has to understand that when a place is PACKED, and there are only 3 waitresses, it will take longer than normal to get anything… that’s just common sense. I would go here again, but maybe a little later on a Saturday to see if there are fewer customers. That way, I could also try some appetizers. But, the focus here is definitely the wine, which does not disappoint.

This winery is such a cute addition to Main Street! While I really like a lot of the wine available at other wineries in Grapevine, most of them aren’t very conducive to sitting, relaxing, and enjoying the atmosphere — especially with the closing of La Buena Vida and their gorgeous patio. Enter Umbra, set up with a lovely bar, a cozy sitting area, and a variety of tables. The funishings are lovely, with exposed brick walls, wooden display cases of their wine with fancy devices for you to smell the wines(I’ve never seen anything like them and don’t know how to describe them any better than that!). It was a lovely place to duck into from the cold. They have generous flights for tasting and while I wasn’t madly in love with anything I tried, I enjoyed everything I tasted and went on to have a large, lovely glass of one of their reds. I really think other wineries in the area should take a cue from this unique space. Their wines, atmosphere, and truly friendly service have me convinced this is where I’ll be hanging out on Main Street going forward. Aaannnd I can’t wait to come back and give some of their appetizers a try! Hooray for nice food options alongside wine tastings!
