Coming up the hill for a day of snowboarding we stayed at this location on a Saturday night. There is maybe 20 rooms total and a tiny parking lot. The check in was smooth and the price was about $ 87.00 a night. I would say a great location but in need of upgrades. They still use the old key method, the door is closed but there is a gap, there was a towel holing up the shower curtain and had an odd smell. The neighbors where so loud all night other than that is was a very quiet hotel with no problems at all. Id they put money into renovations I would defiantly be back but defiantly kinda sketchy. I would stay in this hotel again if it where just to sleep.

This place is horrible, but pet friendly and that is the main reason I stayed there. I wish I would have checked around more though because there are a lot nicer places to stay in Grass Valley/Nevada City that accept pets. I am going to take heed of the reviews next time. While they are pet friendly this place is very worn out .if the owners don’t care for a property why should the guests? The towels were crap so if you plan on staying here bring your own. The place seemed clean but the bathroom floor had not been mopped for ages. I am pretty sure when it was mopped the dirt was just pushed up in the corners anyway. The rate was ok but its just not worth saving a couple of bucks to put stay in a place that isn’t safe or secure. This place actually has a lot of potential if the doors were replaced and better locks, paint the disgusting paneling, change the linens to something brighter and scrub the floors. The carpet seemed pretty new and clean but in pet friendly motels tiled or hard floors would be so much better. READTHEREVIEWS then decide.

I’ve stayed in some dives, but this one takes last place. Stunk like wet dogs, carpet filthy, bedspreads dirty, drapes hanging off, looks like it hasn’t been vacuumed in years. Mirrors cracked, all trim falling off, bathtub looks like it would fall through to the first floor. A red gum drop under the edge of the bed was there the entire time. Light switches did not turn on any lights. One good thing, the bed was not terrible and the place had hot water and decent water pressure. The towels were the thinnest ever and two of them were dirty– had not been laundered in awhile. Sketchy neighborhood, and there was a 2:00Am fight in the parking lot the first night. Rooms were non-smoking, but the smell of smoke would be an improvement and I am no smoker. It is a budget hotel, but if it was half the price it still would not be worth it. I would have changed hotels but a big sign in the«Lobby» said NOREFUNDS– no matter what so I stuck it out. Never again. Wish I would have taken photos– didn’t think about that as I’d not want to remember the place.

If I could give zero I would. I have bites all over from the bedbugs. I will try to take a photo of my arm so you can see how swollen it is! Another group I am with found a crack pipe under the bed. Besides this lights have no bulbs in them, and this place stinks. I will be happy to join the celebration when they close the place.

Needed a motel at the last minute. They were available. The staff was accommodating, friendly, and the room was clean. Just what we needed and loads better than camping in the snow.

Was very skeptical about this place after reading these reviews however wasn’t all bad. AC was in an odd place in our room so kept on all the time. Water pressure was great! No screens on windows. Housekeeping brought towels but no bed making or vacuum. Good place to lay weary head and shower.

This place should be $ 40 a night not $ 80 a night. The whole town is a rip off for decent places to stay and not break your wallet. This place was dirty and old, if your charging that much, you can afford to put some money back into it. Not impressed, not going back.

This was the worst motel ive been too and for $ 80 a night. Such insanity. Came here in december. I had to wait 20 mins for the owners to open the door to let us head into the lobby to check in. took them another 30 mins to check us in cuz they didnt know we had reservations. got into our room. the window was wide open. room was ice cold. its 20 degrees out. room looks like it hasnt been cleaned for years. carpet all stained and dirty. tv doesnt work, heat was on for 1 hr and the room was still cold. sink counter top peeling. metal is rusty in the room. shower sucks. LISTGOESON. JUSTREADTHEOTHERBADREVIEWS. IVEBEENINBETTERHOSTELSANDTHEYONLYCHARGE20 – 25BUCKS A NIGHT. NOT80! during check out, of course there was no one there. suppose to come breakfast, nothing there, some old guy said he didnt have any coffee for us. i guess this place does deserve a star, the old guy at the motel gave us $ 5 for coffee.

My husband, puppy, and I were so relieved to find this place. Lowest price in town & pet friendly(only $ 10 extra).plus the manager was super friendly. Its no ritz carlton, but if all u need is a bed, hot shower, and a romantic comedy on HBO like I was… this is ur place:)

We stayed in this motel for 2 nights this weekend, we have stayed there previously a couple of years ago and it was OK, old but clean, this time it was a dump, dirty and unkempt both inside and out, we first got a room where the shower was in the bathtub and when you were finished with your shower you stood in a foot of water because the drain was plugged up. We complained and was moved to another room, where the shower worked, but the lamp on the table by the bed had no way to be turned off, so we had to unscrew the bulb each time. Along the furniture and the wall there was enough dog food to keep a dog for day or so, even though it was supposed to be a no pet room. Our stay could not have been much more unpleasant and we will never stay there again. Regarding the staff, they were friendly and helpful, but could stand some supervision in dress and appearance.

So. This place was cheap and available. The staff was also very friendly. What else stood out? Well… there are a few notables. The door didn’t quite close all the way, which made it surprisingly easy to listen to the awkward phone conversations being had by guests and their estranged spouses. Whether at 10PM or 6AM these particular guests found it more convenient to talk out front of my door than in their respective rooms. Of course it was hard to hear them at times over the mini fridge in my room, which was right next to the A/C I didn’t run, because, well, see the pictures I post. Looking instead to the ceiling fan I noticed it had been oddly replaced by a smoke detector?(again, pictures) The bathroom had it’s own brand of charm, with a toilet that rocked back and forth and a non functional ventilation fan. I had to appreciate the sustainability efforts on the part of the hotel though; in an effort to shorten shower time and conserve water the bathtub rapidly fills up as you shower, in effect forcing you out. Tricky! While I find it necessary to share all the details of my stay to remain truthful, it is also truthful to say that despite all this my stay was still not bad. I’ve definitely been in worse and paid a whole lot more. I really wasn’t a fan of the bathtub thing but the bed was comfortable and friendly staff always goes a long way. Many of these things were probably just my room which seemed to be a room not used often(alarm clock and microwave clock blinking unset times and just a general unused feeling) and particular other guests that night.
