We eat there every trip down, sometimes twice. Great Happy Hour, $ 1 beer, discounts on wine. They have the best seafood basket we’ve ever had(we usually double down on the shrimp). Fries are good, and my wife really likes the coleslaw. Oysters on the half shell are a must. Friendly service, a fun time!

Quite possibly the worst meal I have ever had in a restaurant. Friendly waitress though! The corn tasted like they dunked it in the toilet and then put it on the grill.

Always great food and a great atmosphere. Grateful for the heaters on the patio so we can sit outside with our beagle even in the winter.

Great food: Blackened Mahi sandwich topped with a pickle, slaw, and remoulade combination that was amazing. Side of Gouda grits that was perfect. Good craft draft beer selection when it comes to being near the beach. Friendly staff. Ambiance is best in the bar area. Cool patio that sits over a pond.

We visited twice in one week during a visit to the area in October 2015. Need I say more? The oysters are nice size, service is friendly, and dinner on the 2nd visit was excellent. Will visit again next year!

Excellent food, great drinks and good service! The atmosphere is really fun and there are dollar bills all over the walls where you can leave your mark. We went as a group of over 20 people and were all very happy with the food and service. Highly recommend checking it out!

Great oysters shucked right at the bar for you. The crab and lobster bisque was fantastic. Our second time visiting, the last time was over 5 years ago and it’s still a good spot.

This place is the worst. Manager is the biggest moron I’ve ever met. They’d rather serve carry out then seat people. The pits. Waited 45 min for for what I was told would be 20 and never did get to sit. They seemed to care less. Bravo. You win at being the worst manager in the world.

This place did not disappoint. We were promptly seated outside by request. Large picnic style table, fans blowing, football game on, great night time ambiance. Probably would be so much fun late afternoon as well!!! Our waitress was happy to tell us all about the local favorites since we’d never been in before. Upon her recommendation — -we had the chargrilled oysters, the trio of tacos and the crab cake po-boy. Do yourself a solid and try the coconut corn fritters. The perfect mix of sweet and fried goodness. Everything tastes delightful. Kids meals are big enough for 2 kids to split, come with 2 sides! 2 of my tacos were cold — -waitress promptly replaced them and even brought an extra lobster taco too! Very pleased and will definitely go back.

This was my favorite new spot of this trip. We dined here our last night in town. Good mix of locals and tourist. Everyones food was delicious. I had some salad with Hearts of palm and pickled cucumbers that was awesome. Only complaint, the scallops on the grits were a little antiseptic tasting. I’m not saying they had been tainted, I’m just saying they tasted a little off. The grits were top notch. Drinks were stiff. Oysters were great raw and the mexican baked. cocktail sauce was nothing to write home about, but the horseradish was great(so you can tweek the sauce).

We just had a wonderful family meal at Hurricane. It wasn’t a problem to seat our party of 11, after just a 30 minute wait on a Sunday evening. They have a decent draft beer selection and the oysters were wonderful! The tuna dip and crab claws are some seriously good appetizers. Several people at the table had the soup of the day, a crab and lobster bisque, and it was incredible. Really though, it was an emotional experience. I had the fried shrimp basket and while it was wonderful, I was really jealous when someone else at the table ordered the shrimp and grits and they looked AWESOME. I heard from the rest of the table that the lobster tacos and crab cake po boy were great, too. My only complaints would be that our waiter was quite pushy about what was good and what we should order based on his recommendations. Everything was great in the end, though. And they only accept cash or checks. Not ideal, so plan in advance. Everything else about this place makes it the perfect, divey bar and seafood restaurant that you want when you’re at the beach!

Had oysters, chowder and grits, it was great and priced right! Good atmosphere. I would give them a 5 but service was slow, although we will for sure return, food and atmosphere is worth the wait! We have returned again for lunch had the grouper BLT it was great and came with a large portion of fries, service was lots better this time ! Eat outside by the pond there is a small alligator that is hanging out! There was a family there with kids that was an extra treat for them. Do not remove the alligator good business attraction!

Food was very average, nothing really special. Comparable to an Ale House. Party I was with enjoyed their fried shrimp but everything else was very sweet. The coleslaw was sweet, the cucumber salad was sweet, the corn nuggets were sweet and the grilled chicken was sweet(though I ordered the sauce on the sides in hopes it would be a little less so.) the restaurant wasn’t bad, but it definitely left something to be desired. Great place to bring kids though, the outdoor patio was very nice.

We stopped in here for lunch from a family friend suggestion. This place is not too bad, but I would go other places first. We had oysters to start, then we all got the fish tacos with blackened grouper. Several of our fish had the bones in it, which is part of the process of eating fish, but just be aware so you don’t choke on a fish bone! It was flavorful and you expect blackened fish to have a kick, but my aunt couldn’t handle the heat, too spicy for her. I am more of lover of a fantastic fish with good flavor, but not having the spices overpower the fish. As for the Gouda infused grits for the side, the waitress said these were the top seller for sides, personally my grandmothers cheese grits are better, but I could be biased. The key lime pie was fantastic and I was sure hoping it would be, I haven’t had a bad key lime pie in this area yet, wish I had ordered my own slice! The waitress was very kind. Also this is a cash and check place only, very casual and loud, with both indoor and outdoor seating. Shops surround the restaurant so at night when it’s busy you have things to occupy your time with.

Good bang for your buck here on 30A. Nice covered outdoor seating by a little lily pad pond. CASHORCHECKONLY– but there is an ATM inside. Food is pretty good. Have peanuts to munch on while you wait at tables. Have options for flour or corn tortillas. The fritters are a great side.

Nice little place to stop and grab a meal. Sit outside and look at the water/fountain while you eat. Coconut corn fritters ROCK! Yum! Lobster tacos were delicious too. Service was prompt and friendly.

Great food, great service and great atmosphere! Must visit. Had the shrimp and oyster basket — large portion and very good! Also, got the lobster tacos which I read were very good but liked them just okay. A little spicy for my taste. Overall, a very good place! Would recommend — 2 thumbs up!

Great little dive off the beaten path in the middle of nowhere. We had one dozen raw oysters with fresh horseradish, which were awesome! They’re a bit overpriced unless you hit happy hour, so go after 3. My boyfriend had the lobster tacos, which were ok at best, and overpriced. The saving grace of the day was my shaved ribeye quesadilla that was so tasty and only $ 6! Amazing. The service is fantastic, the food came out fast and the atmosphere is on point for a beach dive. They don’t accept credit cards, which is a major downer, so being your cash or checks.

(also published to my food blog with many more photos) Hurricane Oyster Bar and Grill is located at 37 Logan Ln, Grayton Beach, FL32459 at the end of a line of buildings in a small shopping center. Parking is along the street or within a couple of small lots — the sign is a bit hard to see but worthwhile, especially during happy hour. I’ve been going to Hurricane’s a couple of seasons now — last year we were told by some locals that it was a good spot for Oysters and a frequent location for local residents. This seems to be true as there weren’t many of us tourists there in September 2014(when I last visited) or September 2013. This is very much a bar with dark halls, spirits and beer taps. I could see it being my weekly after-work hangout. I think the best time to go is early afternoon to take advantage of the happy hour. Oysters are also discounted during that time at about a buck apiece. The tables in the enclosed patio are picnic-style with holes for a bucket(to both hold and discard the free shelled peanuts, of course). Enjoy your goober-peas and kick back to a nice ale — I’m a big fan of both the Bell’s Two Hearted IPA and the Lagunitas IPA — on my last visit I had one of each. Some of the others with me enjoyed the margritas. The menu is fairly extensive with many seafood, sandwich and snaky options. I’ve heard that the fish tacos and wings were quite good. Of course, I come here for one thing only, the oysters. These are seasonal(but for the most part they always have them) and locally caught. Last season they were really exceptional — very large and juicy. This season not-so-much and a bit on the smallish side. Service tends to be exceptional with very attentive bartenders and servers. As with most of the local-to-30A restaurants and drinking establishments, they only take cash so make sure you bring enough for that 3rd round! I’ll be coming back.

One of our favorites — I absolutely love it here! The menu is fun, the atmosphere is funky, service is awesome and it’s off the beaten path. Since it takes a while to travel to most places during peak season, you may as well spend the extra minutes going to Grayton Beach. Best Crab and Lobster Bisque — seriously, one of the best soups ever. My daughter raves about the Chipotle wings, my son loves the ribeye, the hubby the lobster tacos and me? I got the shrimp and grits which were southernly delicious. ;) Great happy hour prices on beer, too!
