It’s very rare that I find a doctors office where the entire staff is extremely nice! They were very accommodating and scheduled me in last minute when I needed. The doctor was very understanding and really listened to what I had to say. You can tell they really care about their patients! I would highly recommend.

I came to Dr. Israel for an implant and he did an amazing job. The process didn’t hurt, he answered all my questions, and all of his instructions(pre & post operation) were clear and easy to follow. The best part of the implant is that my private dentist in NYC saw an x-ray, and told me that the placement is beautiful and that my surgeon(Dr. Israel) did an excellent job!

I had two wisdom teeth removed on June 25, 2009(the day Michael Jackson died) by Dr. Barry Langsam(Assistant Professor, Department of Dentistry, Einstein College of Medicine). I have to preface this review by saying that Dr. Langsam is such a class act, a real old school doc with a great sense of humor and an excellent reputation. So when it came time to have my other two wisdom teeth removed, naturally I called his office. Unfortunately, I quickly learned that Dr. Langsam had retired. As such, I was forced to find a new doctor… enter Dr. Israel. I had a positive experience with Dr. Israel. I ended up using him to remove my two remaining wisdom teeth. I found him after doing quite a bit of research on oral surgeons in the NY area, as I’m very picky when it comes to doctors. Usually I use Castle Connolly, in conjunction with reading as many reviews online as I can find( Unilocal, etc), to select a top doctor. However, for some reason Castle Connolly does not list oral surgeons. Dr. Israel is a Professor of Clinical Surgery(Dentistry, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery) Weill Cornell Medical College and Attending Surgeon(Dentistry, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery) at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. Basically, he is a big shot oral surgeon who has been teaching and/or practicing since I was born(I’m 36 y/o). I like that. Evidently he has a national reputation, especially in the area of facial pain. I’m not really sure what that entails, but good to know, as I clearly don’t want any pain or some newbie surgeon who might nick a nerve or something causing me endless tsuris. Am I an overly neurotic patient? Yes. Given his impressive credentials, I decided to schlep out to Great Neck for a consultation(btw, when did Bruce’s close!?). Anyway, I found him to be professional, friendly, and most importantly he did not rush me out the door(like so many docs do these days). After meeting him I decided to go ahead and have him do the surgery. Unfortunately, he does not accept any insurance(not uncommon for doctors of his caliber… and a very concerning trend that will get much worse with the implementation of Obamacare). That said, after shopping around a bit, I found his fees comparable to other TOP docs. Oy, I should have been an oral surgeon! Dr. Israel did a great job… I think. I mean what do I know, the teeth are out and I never felt any pain. Also, he was nice enough to call me the night of the procedure to see how I was feeling. On the post op instructions he gives out his cell and home number to call in the event of an emergency… nice touch. I’m 100% satisfied. His assistant during the procedure was really kind and patiently went over all the doctor’s instructions with me after the procedure. The two women in the office were also great. I would definitely recommend Dr. Israel if you are unlucky enough to need an oral surgeon.
