I can’t say that I would recommend any other Asian restaurant in the area over this one this. The interior is beautifully decorated — clean, modern, and spacious. Even the restrooms are spotless! The service is wonderful, the host and waiters are very friendly, always smiling(especially Alex!) and will explain or recommend menu items to you accordingly. The price is right for the area, and trust me, the food makes it worth it. I’ve only been for lunch but the lunch specials are great and the food is absolutely delicious. They have dim sum options for lunch, even soup dumplings! Yes, xiao long bao, and they are delicious! I can’t wait to go back and try more things.

I have been there for lunch 3 times and for dinner once. The restaurant is very beautiful and sparkly clean. And the service is great! I like the lunch more than the dinner. I’m not talking about the price but the taste. The food in lunch tastes better than the food I had in dinner. I like the rolls, they were fresh and tasty. The shrimp and broccoli taste great, the misu soup was taste great too! The greeter Alex is excellent! He greeted us beautiful smile, showed me the setting of the tables on iPad when I told him that we might interest to have lunch party there. He is so great! We had office party in lunch after one week. Everyone were happy for the food, the service, and the beautiful place. The price is reasonable!

Chinese food that isn’t Chinese enough to be Chinese but not American enough to be American can only be called Fusion. Moonstone is the only restaurant that I’ve dined in that does this quite well. It’s probably less Fusion and more Chinese. Cantonese speakers served our table and it seems totally Cantonese owned. Food: for the price, you could probably get 150% of what you’re getting here in downtown Flushing. Then again, you’re probably not coming here for the food or to consume gargantuan amounts of it. You’re probably here for a client meeting. You chose this place to impress, probably. We ordered the bean seedling(豆苗) with some sweet and sour chicken. It was actually not bad! Tsingdao beer is definitely recommended, but you knew that already. Service: this is where Moonstone really shines. The server was much more responsive than what I’m used to in Downtown Flushing. Once seated, I was greeted with ice water and crunchy things. Dip the crunchy thing into the sauce and you have an addiction in the making. In fact, the addiction was instantaneous. The server did not try to curb my enthusiasm for the crunchy things, but kept bringing me more! Décor: it’s beautiful inside. It reminds me of what fine dining in Hong Kong used to be like, but now, a restaurant can only make you this comfortable in Wan Chai, and you’re being charged an arm and a leg. And your other leg.

Moonstone is outstanding. I will never step foot inside the likes of Elaine’s or the Orient again. Everything from the service to the décor to the cocktails was a home run. This was my first time here and I will definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone I know. I love the menu here. If you’re in the mood for some oysters, they have a raw bar as well. My fiancé and I ordered the chicken lettuce wrap and the lacquered roast pork to start. Omg! The pork was crispy and succulent. I couldn’t stop eating it. It was amazing!!! For entrees, we ordered the crispy shrimp with honey glazed walnuts, chicken w/broccoli and the beef chow fun. The mayo sauce on my crispy shrimp was outstanding. The prawns were huge and every dish was served hot. I had a throughly enjoying experience here. Great cocktails. Service was swift and attentive. Most restaurants of this ilk are terrible; particularly on Long Island. The restrooms were clean. I loved the lighting. Most places are either too dark or too bright. The servers appeared to be happy and content to be there. This place will be put in the regular rotation. Next time I’m going to order the whole Peking duck…

The food was delicious, but the service and management were horrible. Appetizers came in two waves, 15 minutes apart. Entrée was even worse. At least 45 minutes between the first person and last person being served. One diner did not order soup or appetizer and waited two hours to receive entrée. When raised to management’s attention, after 30 minutes there was no followup and the poor waiter had to fend for himself. Beware.

Terrible place. Came here on Sunday and ordered 200 $ worth of food. Left a 20 $ tip and the Asian older waiter came up to me and complained that I left way too little. For this I will tell everyone that this place is horrible!!! The waiter then proceeded to harass me in front of my guests saying the 20 $ tip was too little and that if there were no problems he expected more. However there were several problems which I will make sure that the manager is aware of. First we ordered five soups and only 4 were brought to the table. By the time we finished our soups we asked what happened to 5th soup the waiter States that he never got the order. it is very unprofessional to bring food to 4 people when there are 5 people at the table and they are expecting their food and then the other one eats their food cold. I have been to many businesses and I have never seen them doing that you bring all the food in at once not making other people wait to eat. Secondarily it is disrespectful to come up to the customer and request a higher tip. this person should be fired just for this action not only did he ruin our night but he also ruined the reputation of the restaurant because I have already told several people of this event. If you are unhappy working as a waiter in your wages are minimal then perhaps you should look into another occupation but you should not harass the customer and request for more money. Quite frankly I am debating calling my credit card and having a dispute towards this location because that waiter just totally ruined my mood. Tip is optional not mandatory! You can’t expect it because of this I will not be coming back. Waiters should respect the customer not fight with them. This was rude and unacceptable.

Our first time at Moonstone which had previously been a buffet and just didn’t «call» to me. The current incarnation was a very pleasant surprise. The décor is classy, chic, elegant, modern: excellent music track at a perfect, unobtrusive volume, tablecloths at lunch, lighting was beautiful, rest rooms were stunning. Whoever designed this place had terrific taste. The service was IMPECCABLE. There was an excellent lunch menu with a wide selection and a generous portions. Everything was fresh. People sitting a few tables away also thought this was still a buffet and had the same reaction as I: what a great surprise! And we all felt that MOONSTONE was our new favorite. Finally got here and very glad we did!

I am going to be a regular of this place is what I could tell you for a start based from unexpected dining experience last night. At the beginning when a friend said that we will be having our celebration at this place(i’d been here multiple times when it was Harvest Buffett), my reaction was, what … Oh well, i have a change of heart the moment i walked in. The decoration and the setting are for a fine dining restaurant, not the buffett service restaurant i had on my memory. The elegant ambiance(three bottles of wine are set up right there on the table before hand), the balance lighting(I could see my reflection from my silverware) and the modern flair(surprisingly styled dinnerware and chandeliers for an Asian restaurant) will inspire you in looking forward for an unforgettable night. Indeed, it was a splendid evening I had at this place to add to the total experience the company of good friends. We settled to order an a la carte style food that fits our group needs. For a group of eight, we asked recommendation from our waitstaff for their specialty and the number of servings needed, and, he did not disappoint us. The order did not take long too, just in time when everybody has finished giving updates to each other. The tasteful, balance and right amount of our food made everyone find the meal savory and delightful. The price listed for each meal in the menu is ranging from $$- $$$$ but based on what we have ordered– their Chilean sea bass, the fillet mignon, the live stir fry orange clam, the crunchy seafood fried rice and the fried tofu with veggies(sauteed in garlic and olive oil only — was a hit!), it is worth for the extra buck or two you add… not greasy, not salty and wont make you have this bloated feeling after eating as compared to other regular restaurant. This place is a little bit upscale for a Chinese cuisine. An extra happiness from last night, the pitcher of white Sangria was incredibly prepared and their fried ice cream dessert was so heavenly. The experience as in whole picture was perfect in every way. With touch of classiness but comfortable fine dining. It is highly recommended whether it is for a «celebration«or for«just because» dining. Heard that they do take outs too!

This place is close to home, been putting it off for a while now and finally took the leap of faith to try it. I went in without ready anything online about price, quality or service. First thing to notice is the décor is very nice. Lighting is nice, not too bright or dim. Everything looks very clean and moderns, pleasing to the eye to say the least. Second thing noticed was the prices range quite a bit from $ 15 items up to $ 40. Nice to have options. Didn’t look at the wine selection as nobody in my party was drinking but they have a lot available. The waiting staff was excellent. It what I expect at a place of this price range. Waiters were very nice and attentive helped us with our order and all welcomed us when we came in and left. Food was good just ordered 4 dishes with some specialty fried rice. I forget most of the names but the chicken and broccoli was very good and the lobster steampot was great too. The sha cha beef tenderloin or something to that affect was above average. The lobster soups wasn’t to my taste but he party enjoyed it. Overall I enjoyed my experience and plan to come again soon.

Came here today to pick up lunch. Firstly the lunch special is a great deal. $ 10 for 2 rolls and choice of soup/salad/soda. My order was ready really quick(about 15 mins) Although i took to-go the interior of the restaurant is really beautiful. It’s a very big space and it smelled delicious! The host /manager was very nice and pleasant. The rolls were good. I got pretty basic stuff(spicy tuna and yellowtail jalapeño). The rice to fish ratio was good(not too much rice). The rolls were nothing to rave about, but defiantly nothing bad about them. I’ll have to try one of their special rolls next time. Also they have plenty of lunch special options for sushi and hot food. Looking forward to trying more.

This is one of the best Chinese restaurants I’ve eaten at in a very long time. The prices are quite reasonable, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. The décor has a modern, sophisticated flair that is unpretentious and yet great for a date while remaining comfortable enough for families and friends. We ordered everything from soups, to spring rolls, to chicken and seafood dishes. My. soup(chicken wonton) was not overly salted like most other restaurants, the spring rolls were crisp and didn’t leave me feeling heavy and greasy, and all of our entrees(various chicken and seafood) were tasty. We ended the meal feelings satisfied, not heavy or bloated. There are also Japanese dishes to choose from for those who don’t want strictly Chinese. Two nice touches to the menu are the swanky cocktail list and the desserts. Three of us decided to split the key lime pie… I’m a key lime pie snob, and I can honestly say that it was one of the best I’ve ever had. Go figure! I definitely look forward to frequenting Moonstone.

The staff is super friendly and conversational. The décor and ambiance are upscale. Great for a date or work meeting. We had the calamari, duck spring rolls, scallion pancakes, sushi, shrimp and walnuts. Everything was amazing, tasty, and fresh. The fried wantons to start are really crispy. We also order several drinks, which were all very delicious. For a party of 5 we spent $ 190. Overall great experience. I will definitely be back.

Date night with another couple made this a special night, but the ambience was stark modern. Felt like they ran out of time money or ideas to complete the décor. Waiter did not give us much assistance about what to get when we asked. Decent sized portions with enough to take some home for lunch. Nothing special.

Went to Moonstone a few times when it first opened! It’s a great new addition to the area. We really did need a great sit down Chinese restaurant. Moonstone is more upscale and the décor is beautiful. They have a large menu with a wide variety of options. The best part is that they serve chinese/japanese cuisines. I love that I’m able to have sushi with my chinese food. The dim sum platter is awesome! It comes with a variety of different options and and it’s a perfect starter to share with someone. I’ve tried the spicy tuna roll, which was pretty good. My favorite thing on the menu is the crispy beef. It’s a crispy beef dish with an orange/citrus flavor. Really delicious! Moonstone is a bit pricey as it is a little bit more upscale for chinese/japanese cuisine, but it is well worth it! Definitely check out Moonstone whether it’s for dining in or taking out.

I’ve ordered from here several times now and it’s a solid Asian fusion restaurant. The menu is enormous offering a little bit of everything — Chinese, dim sum, Japanese, sushi, Thai, etc. The food is decently priced and the ingredients are above average when compared to other Chinese places. Inside is really nice too. It’s brand new so everything is sleek and modern, and the service is good as well. I’ve sampled several of their dishes and they’ve all been good for the most part. The food comes out fast and you get a large portion.

OMG! OMG! Grand Slam! I and fifteen other members of our dining group had an amazingly delicious dinner at Moonstone on Sunday, 10⁄11. Moonstone is a Chinese restaurant which is pretty non-traditional in many of its addition to its Sushi and Sashimi offerings it puts a creative and more healthful modern spin on Chinese dishes, featuring very fresh vegetables which are less utilized in Chinese restaurants such as baby bok choy, which is abundantly provided in several entrees. The décor is very nice, tasteful and modern. The acoustics of the restaurant were great, facilitating conversation despite the restaurant being packed. Service was fast, accommodating and efficient. One entrée order was mistaken but a correct entrée was delivered relatively quickly. I really enjoyed the cocktails. Their Absolut Vodka Martini was well balanced. The Expresso Martini was«off the charts» excellent, better than many versions I have had in Italian restaurants. A minor complaint… a group that brings in $ 800 dollars of business should at least get complimentary cups of tea. Dinner appetizers were bursting with flavor. The Lacquered Roast Pork was better than any of the versions I’ve had in Manhattan’s Chinatown, which I know well from sampling this dish over the many years I have worked Downtown. The Berkshire Roast Pork Sliders were incredible in amazingly light buns. BBQ Spare Ribs were good, but the Roast Pork and the Sliders were better. I had the half Peking Duck. While I would have been much happier«rolling my own» the four pancakes prepared by the servers were loaded with duck meat that was not greasy and which contained the perfect amount of «fattiness».My Yong Chow Fried Rice was great, with a perfect amount of moistness and liberally filled with chicken, pork and shrimp. Other members loved the Lobster Cantonese, the Vegetarian Lettuce Wraps and the Wok Fried Sea Prawns. The Hot and Sour and Wonton soups, both very basic staple dishes, were made with care and were enjoyed by the group. As to desserts, stick with the Key Lime Pie as the Oreo Cheesecake was meh. It is worth noting that Moonstone features Western desserts, not just orange slices with fortune cookies. All in all, in terms of the number of dishes consistently enjoyed by our group, I would rate Moonstone as one of the handful of the best restaurants where our group has dined over the past year. Hence… the five stars. Hence… our collective eagerness to return. Check out Moonstone. You will not be disappointed.

Moonstone really impressed. I was more than pleasantly surprised. The wait staff was among the most attentive wait staff I have ever had. They were engaging and involved. They always made sure the table was clean and you had what you needed. The manager checked in several times to make sure we were ok. The restaurant is beautiful. It is clean and elegant. There is a bar, which I am informed does happy hour specials and fills up on some nights. The Kumamoto Oysters were great, as were the Salt and Pepper Calamari. The sushi was very good. The Two Hotties(spicy salmon, avocado, cucumber, topped with pan seared black pepper tuna, crunch, spicy mayo & wasabi mayo) was particularly good on the night I was there. If you are in the area and looking for a nice place, Moonstone should be on your short list.

Separate menus for bar and main dining area. Be careful some of their coupons or promotions only apply to one or the other. Lunch is a high priced compared to other places in the area. if you sit at the bar they serve pretty good sushi. This place used to be called harvest buffet but now they have renovated the whole place and it is now a high end restaurant serving food in many different Asian styles. They are not Asian authentic, they are Asian-American. Food is very high quality. Chefs are extremely skilled. Ambiance is high end Japanese-American style and very ritzy looking. They have an extensive wine collection that is on display in the back of the main dining area. Pricing for the dinner menu is pretty high, but you get what you pay for. This is a place where you could bring guests that you need to impress, and don’t care about paying a little more. Parking is very plentiful for the location. Cleanliness of everything is through the roof.

I had received a flyer in the mail and I decided to try this place with my family for dinner. I will be coming back here. I found out this was the Old Harvest Buffet from the reviews written here. This place has a parking lot so that is good especially on busy Northern Boulevard. As soon as we entered the restaurant is just gorgeous, classy and beautiful. Loved the white tablecloths and beautiful silverware with napkins on the tables. Very clean and the restrooms were spotless and nicely designed. Love the bamboo style wall we were seated against. This place gets a 5 just for the upscale décor alone. What we ordered: Red Prawns Beef in Oyster sauce Wonton Soup Shrimp Fried Rice Dim Sum The red prawns were edible but I did not like the fact that they were breaded which made them too heavy on my stomach. The Beef in Oyster Sauce was sooo delicious — this is a must get. The mushrooms, sauce and snap peas made the dish taste great. The fact that the meat was delicately sliced thin made this a very appealing dish. The Wonton soup was pretty good with small wontons. Shrimp fried rice tasted fresh and delicious and my husband liked his seafood dim sum. It was a bummer that the sushi chef was not in that day but I hope to try the sushi here next time and maybe a yummy cocktail like the peach bellini which was tempting me from the menu but I had settled for black tea instead.
