Fabulous, in every way. From the aroma of something brewing to the knowledge and friendliness of the bartender, to the delicious and creative concoctions, this place is outstanding. Gustav the über-friendly cat was the cherry on top.

Finally, a «Sin Tax» I can support. .. What? It’s «Syntax»? Oh, I don’t really have much to say about the arrangement of words and phrases to create well-formed sentences in a language. However, I must say that the arrangement of OH molecules and mixers to create well-formed libations in a nice setting seems to be working for these folks. We were visiting Greeley to explore a couple or three breweries. And since Syntax is right next to Wiley Roots(they even share a bathroom), this seemed like a good way to end the evening. Jeff was the mix-master behind the over-sized bar in this casual and comfortable establishment. Despite the best efforts of the largish, orange-ish, friendly, and pushy distillery cat(who had already visited us earlier at the brewery), I managed to place our orders. I went with a clean and crisp cucumber and mint vodka drink, Dave opted for some lovely Limoncello, and Shawn choose the most wisely of all. She went for the Jefe Caliente. This drink is named after Jeff himself. Think of this as an elegant solution to the eternal question of how one can best bring caffeine to alcohol. The directions for this drink start with a large coffee cup, into which goes Ghirardelli Double Chocolate Premium Hot Cocoa, ancho chile powder, Class V vodka, and some very nice(beans roasted in house no less!) coffee. Holy cats! Was this ever a delicious drink, and a great way to wind down the evening. The prices were not too bad, either. The people in the bar were local, laid-back, and friendly. This is a nice place to leave one’s worries behind, and go with the flow. Oh, I almost forgot to mention that Friday night is free pinball, and the old school video games are always free.

A very unusual bar in a variety of ways. Lots of intriguing art on the walls. I was there recently to celebrate my husbands birthday. They distill their own spirits many of which are as unique as the ambience and décor. The drink menu is diverse and interesting. I had a drink called The Wookie and my husband had the Bond Martini. I’m not much of a drinker anymore so they both tasted a bit strong to me. I really liked the fact that this place had a genuine speakeasy/underground feel to it — maybe it had something to do with the fact it’s located in an industrial garage. Seems like a place you could really unwind and be yourself in and I’m hoping to get back there soon.

Decided to try Syntax after seeing a Groupon offer. We made an on– line reservation for the tour. Although short in terms of tour time, the information was great. We learned about the history of the distillery as well as the processes they use to make their vodka, rum and whiskey. Especially liked seeing some of their unique approaches to distilling that make their products different. We were a group of 4 and we all ordered different drinks. Each was great although I was partial to my The Contraband — espresso and cherry vodka. We did sample some of their infusions and fell in love with the Perky Pepper Vodka. Not super spicy, but a nice bite. Can’t wait to try it in some cooling summer drinks.

Great vodka! They have rum, whiskey and bourbon but I only tried their vodka. The owner is a sweat heart and fun to talk to. We enjoyed the tour and she makes a KILLER Bloody Mary… must try! Their drink menu is huge… can’t wait to come back and try more.

Killer cocktails, cool vibe, exotic and erotic art, free pinball, wonderful guard kitty on premises & eclectic mix of folks from around the area —- all tucked right off the tracks in a funky part of town. This is obviously a labor of love & it shows. I couldn’t be more tickled to have this addition in Greeley.

Brought home my first sample tonight after they made their first gift size bottles for my company. The bourbon is smooth. Smoother than I expected. And the owners are very nice people that obviously put a lot of love and effort into their work. I want to thank them for going out of their way to create this gift size so our company can send them to our share holders and big clients. Well done.

This place is pretty cool. Got a tour of the distillery not knowing it was going to be that short but over all it was quite interesting. Drinks were pretty tasty. Def hit the spot so I’ll be coming back soon. And they have free play arcade games!

This place has a great vibe and many interesting drinks to choose from! Our bartenders were also the owner/operators of the distillery and shared their thoughts on some of the concoctions. My favorite infused vodka was the vanana– it was like dessert in a glass. For something a little more funky, I also tried the Wookie mixed drink and thought it’s unexpected blend of flavors was brilliant. I can’t wait to go back when they have the local ska/reggae/rock band Contraband playing!

I have been meaning to go to a vodka distillery like Syntax for a while now. Either were around there during their off hours and because Fort Collins has next to no distilleries there. Once again Fort Collins is shooting itself in the foot by making people who want to open distilleries jump through endless hurdles and so much bureaucratic red tape that many distillers simply stop trying and go to set up shop in other towns. Some of those nearby towns are Loveland and Greeley. Just last week I managed to go to Syntax during the hours they were open. They have a huge list of mixed drinks, all infused with vodka that they make there on site. I got the very spicy and large Bloody Mary(they have snacks too!) and simply fell in love with the place and the drink! I just got that one drink because I also drank beer from next door neighbor, Crabtree Brewery and didn’t want to overdo it with drinking since I did bike all the way over and would have to continue to bike around town. Having a buzz on a bike can be fun but you might even need to pay more attention than what you are doing than when you are in a car! Lol! I would not and will not hesitate in going back next time I am over in Greeley!

This distillery features infused vodkas and there are a lot of intriguing choices. When I was there, they had a beet/dill vodka and they made me beet martini with a salt and pepper rimmed glass. Good stuff!
