Great addition to wonderful downtown Greene. Erica and company were very cordial and made us feel right at home. We started with chicken wings(hot). They were crispy and tasty, although the hot version was a bit milder than expected. However, the blue cheese dressing tasted homemade and had plenty of chunks of goodness in it. I had the grilled chicken and half rack of ribs special. It came with the house French Onion soup which was very good. However, the bread that layered it was a bit chewy. Perhaps toasting the bread would solve that issue. The onions were incredibly sweet and the beef broth was made to perfection… not too salty and not too bland. The cheese was melted perfectly and bubbly. Now onto the entrée. The chicken was plump and juicy, but could’ve used a bit more flavoring, i.e. a lemon marinade or something similar. The ribs were fall of the bone tender and we’re certainly the highlight of the meal. The service was very good and I was made to feel at home immediately. I would highly recommend The Village Café and I’m sure they’ll continue to enjoy success if they continue serving the food they love with service that cares. With all that said, there was so much food, I had to roll on out the door…

Greene, NY
4.5 stars. I’m visiting Greene, NY for a wedding and had the chance to eat a late breakfast here. The place has a vintage look and feel inside and out which goes along with the small town look and feel. The food & service was good and was very reasonably priced. Recommended.
