We love their all you can eat sushi on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday’s. As busy as they were my tea cup was never empty and food continuously came to our table. It’s an excellent value and you leave very full. I highly suggest getting a big group of friends together and trying everything on the menu. We will be back the next time I am ready to stuff my face with yummy sushi!

I always love coming here for a quick bite to eat. The last time I was there I got the sashimi and sushi lunch. It consisted of a chefs choice of the sushi(in this case was the spicy tuna roll) and different kinds of sashimi. I absolutely loved it! The roll was made very well and I loved the crunch to it! The sashimi was also properly prepared and was very tasty as well. I highly recommend getting this dish to anyone stopping in for a quick bite to eat. But during my last visit I had 2 main issues. One, our server was very slow and it took my mother and I waited for a very long time for our food, the reason I am complaining is because that we were sitting at the sushi bar and we could see our food sitting there for 10 minutes without her noticing it. It wasn’t even that busy! I could of just taken the sushi off the table but I didn’t take it because i didn’t want to accidentally take someone else’s food. My second and last issue is the salad. The salad was a little bit bland due to the lack of ginger sauce and the lettuce was a little watery. Overall I highly recommend this place to anyone around the area to get some high quality sushi :)

Did the All You Can Eat Sushi option which is only available on Sunday, Monday and Tuesdays. The ambiance was nice and food was clean. We enjoyed our sushi rolls and the some of the appetizers. Green tea ice cream was superb! Definitely worth the price if you do 2 rounds of sushi! Place is kid friendly and worth trying!

I came In for lunch today. The server approached my table took my order and brought food and left the table before I could mention that he forgot my other items. He never came back to my table to ask if I need anything or if everything was ok. He approached my table with a bill dropped it and walked off again. Never asking if I wanted to order anything else or if I need anything. The customer service here is horrible.

This is my favorite sushi lunch spot. They have a great staff that is friendly and attentive. Food is always prepared in a timely manner which is especially great during lunch time. The sushi is always fresh and tastes great every time. Prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend this spot to any sushi lovers out there.

the rock n roll, the rock n roll, man the rock n roll this was my first time here, and i try to experience different menu items when frequenting restaurants, but the rock n roll is probably the only thing i will get from now on. i’ve had fried lobster before that left some to be desired, but their tempura lobster, GOODNESSGRACIOUS, i am hungry now thinking about it, i may get it again tomorrow and again before i leave milwaukee. such a great texture, taste and seasoning. i was a little hesitant because it has cream cheese and lettuce, and while i can do without the lettuce, it was probably the best [sushi] roll i’ve had i also had the edamame which was delicious and the green tea ice cream. the green tea ice cream was delicious, but had a weird after taste that wasnt noticeable if eaten with the whipped cream. sort of like freezer burn, but the texture was fine. i will definitely be going back

So I love this place for their sushi! I like their dining room and how you can sit and watch them make the sushi rolls. Their price is great and they have all you can eat sushi days and its wonderful! You get soup and what ever appetizers and sushi you want. Some times their service can be rude. But only one server was rude to my friend and I. I’ve gone there for my birthday and they give you a birthday desert, it’s really good! Cute little cozy place for a date or a birthday :)

I gave this place 4 stars a few years ago, but now i have to edit my review and change it to 2 stars. It’s not due to the rolls, which are usually very good. Once in a while they aren’t very well made and fall apart. The variety isn’t great, but there is one roll I really like. The house salad, while tiny, has excellent dressing. Kyoto has changed. They have new menus and the tables and arrangement have changed, yes, but the customer service has also changed. The last 3 times I have come here, the waiter or waitress has been distant or cold. The last time I came here, we ordered 3 rolls. Two arrived, and the third never did. Sometimes rolls come out a few minutes later, and we waited, but they didn’t come. Disappointed, we assumed she wrote the order wrong, and at that point it would take too long for them to make the roll. Then we received the check, only to find that we were charged for the missing rolls. When the waitress came back to pick up the bill, she had the missing rolls in hand. No apology, no explanation. A little angry, I explained that we were done eating and ready to leave, that we had assumed she forgot to write it down. She seemed upset that we didn’t want the roll, and asked if we wanted it to go, and i said no, that we weren’t going home. As she stood there staring at us, saying nothing, looking upset at US, my dining partner finally told her to just put it in the box to go. Which she did. No apology, no discount off the roll or bill for the trouble. Nothing. She forgets the roll, brings it AFTER we get our bill, and she gets upset at us for not wanting it to go? Terrible waitress, terrible customer service. I also see some critical health violations posted in another review. We won’t be back for a while. Maybe things will change. In the meantime, Fujiama, Sakura, and Kawa are the places to go.

Yeah, maybe I might be over exaggerating but I used to love Kyoto. Now that I am a regular, I feel like the service has gotten even worse. Last time I was in here, my date and I got rushed by by our waitress and the guy who sat us down. Kyoto is a nice place don’t get me wrong, but there is probably places a lot better.

I am assuming that they have resolved their cleanliness issues and citations from health department. In my opinion, this might well be the best Asian food in town. My favourite are their house salad and garlic chicken. The dressing on the house salad is simply amazing! Most Japanese restaurants serve ginger based dressing, each varied from the other, but the version made by Kyoto is simply the best — par none! Attn Asian salad lovers: Kawa Japanese in Bayshore has the next best Asian salad in town but Kyoto’s truly is the best. It is a «must try» salad. The garlic chicken is superb — good quality white meat, cooked to perfection — except one of their chefs seems to have changed. When the owner and his cousin cook, this dish is absolutely perfect. but when that new cook makes it — I can tell and usually I ask the waitress if the new cook did it — because it is not as good(it becomes a bit too overcooked and the sauce is not as perfect). Therefore, owners of kyoto — please teach the new cook, your exact methods for it to taste the same way as the way you both make it. or regretfully, I will have to downgrade this review. They have sushi lunch specials, which are also very good. Typically, I eat only cooked sushi. therefore, their chicken sushi and shrimp tempura sushi are my favourite.

Choose the all-you-can-eat menu for sure. It offers a wide variety of options for everything from appetizers to desserts for $ 24.99. Even if you aren’t a bottomless pit of sushi consumption you can save a lot money by going this route. I’ve been dining here longer than I would like to admit and it has always been a pleasure.

I read in a newspaper article that a local chef really enjoys Kyoto, so based on that, we stopped in. Can I remember his name? No. We ordered a Tsing Tao and coke for our drinks and a Godzilla Roll, Greenfield Special Maki and Snow White Maki for our meal. The Godzilla roll was spicy salmon, avocado, eel, and crab with tobiko(roe) on top and«crunchy» inside(so says the menu description). IMHO, it was better than the Godzilla roll at Fujiyama, and theirs was darn good! I could definitely taste the crab in this one, though. The Greenfield Special Maki was super spicy white tuna and avocado inside, topped with fresh tuna, salmon and yellowtail. It didn’t taste spicy at all until I added some wasabi, but I didn’t mind. This is what I think of when I think sushi… a little rice roll topped with raw fish. It was very good. The Snow White Maki was recommended by at least one other Unilocaler, so we jumped on it. Shrimp tempura, avocado and cream cheese inside with spicy crabmeat and tobiko on top. Whatever was on top looked like shredded cheese, but didn’t taste like cheese OR crab, so I’m at a loss as to what it was. The tempura shrimp was only«in» the end pieces of the roll, which was perfect. It made eating those pieces a lot easier, as a sushi-sicle! The Snow White did not disappoint. My belly was near it’s breaking point when the man decided to order another roll! The Butterfly Maki, to be exact: salmon, tuna, avocado and asparagus inside, yellowtail and salmon on top with chef’s special sauce. I think that he thought because I was so full, that he’d get this one all to himself. WRONG! I managed to make room for two or three more pieces, much to his chagrin. It, too, was delicious. As others have said, the rolls weren’t served at the same time. We got one, then halfway through devouring it, the other two arrived. Other than that, service was perfect. When we ordered the fourth roll, we had already finished the other three and our server removed all our dishes and brought us back clean ones. A nice, but unnecessary, touch. For those that are new to sushi, you are given chopsticks and a fork here. Don’t want sushi? They have regular Asian fare such as General Tso’s chicken and Pepper Steak, too. No hibachi. Ack! It’s in a strip mall! So what? I’ve often found that the best meals are from places in locations you wouldn’t expect, and this is no exception. I will definitely be back. 82÷2015÷176

This review is for lunch. While on a trip to Milwaukee, I found this place highly rated on Unilocal.I love the close to location feature since I was closest to Kyoto. The restaurant itself is in a strip mall but very tastefully decorated. It was fairly busy for lunch on a Wed. In addition to lunch specials, they also have daily specials including $ 212oz beers on Wednesday. I got the sushi and sashimi lunch special and it came with a side salad and miso soup as all lunch specials do. Both were pretty standard. I got the sushi and sashimi lunch special and got 6 pieces of sashimi, 4 pieces of sushi and a spicy white tuna roll. All this for only $ 13.95!!! Based on the superior quite and freshness of the fish, this is an awesome deal and I will try and come back here whenever I am in town for business.

We relocated to the area recently and we were pumped to see a Japanese place with such great Unilocal reviews! We gave Kyoto a shot for takeout, hoping it would be our new go-to spot… It so is! Online ordering for takeout is so easy that it’s borderline accomplice to weight gain. They even text you when your order is received and give you a pick up time. We tried veg lo mein, chicken on a stick(guilty pleasure food), crab rangoon, and mushroom soup. The lo mein was the tastiest I’ve ever had! Fresh and flavorful, with lots of crunchy broccoli. The crab rangoon were great too, but the chicken on a stick was the best. Tender chicken on the inside, crispy and chewy on the outside, with that delicious savory ginger flavor I love. The BF said the mushroom soup was good, with a smoky miso flavor. We will absolutely be trying Kyoto for a dine-in and sushi experience in the near future. We were kind of sad to see there weren’t any dessert options for takeout, but hopefully there will be something good on the dine-in menu!

So I started going to Kyoto again because of their lunch special! 3 basic maki rolls(abt 6 pieces each) for $ 10.95 is just awesome or 2 for $ 8.50. Not sure when they started it but wish I knew sooner! And they are fairly generous with the fillings inside the roll, so you really get your money worth! On top of that, the soup and salad comes with it too! I love their salad dressing so much that you might catch me licking the bowl oh so very gracefully. I do not like to waste that deliciousness. When I went, they also have the Snow White and Godzilla signature rolls as part of the special. $ 10.95 each and you get about 8 pieces. The Snow White was hugeeee and tasted better than Godzilla in my opinion. But they both still tasted good. Thumbs up, Kyoto! Me likey :)

Back tonight for the AYCE sushi. Not good for my diet, but good for my stomach! The bill is double for the dinner over lunch but I had the craving for sushi. We were seated at a booth right in front of the sushi bar at 5PM. The place was packed! I ordered right away and didn’t have a problem getting my sushi. The key I guess is ordering several things at once. I had the shrimp dumplings, salad, Godzilla roll, and scorpion roll. That was all she wrote. I was so stuffed to the point where I just woke up and I still fell stuffed. Not a good value for dieters at $ 24.95 but cool if you have a big appetite. I had the whole family with us and as usual, Ricky came over to talk to us. The sushi was fresh and delicious. We will probably stick to lunch for the family as dinner is pretty pricey.

I had the pleasure of going to Kyoto today for a holiday luncheon for my job. If you are a sushi lover, like I am, you will definitely like this place. The lunch specials are fantastic. You can choose from either the 2 roll special for $ 8.50 or the 3 roll special for $ 10.95. Both specials come with a salad and miso soup, and have a variety of rolls to choose from. Lunch specials are from 11am-3pm. If you don’t like sushi, there are noodle and other Asian entrees to choose from. as well as appetizers, soups & salads. In looking at their website, I discovered that they now have an online ordering option. This is a fantastic idea that I will be utilizing in the future.
