This is a Steeler’s bar. Come here on a Sunday for the Steelers game if you are in Greensboro. Food leaves something to be desired, it’s adequate, but not good. Decent variety of beer. As a transplanted Pittsburgher, I come here most Sunday’s to watch the Steelers play. The only downside is that they put the Steelers game on the porch where smoking is allowed :(I deal with that. Maybe 40 – 50 steelers fans in jerseys for most games.

Kind of disappointed, to be honest with you. I certainly wasn’t expecting something absolutely fantastic but, still. .. had this delivered tonight(through Takeout Central), very prompt delivery and wonderful young man who delivered(kudos to Takeout Central), however, the food was cold when it got here and since I was informed by emails when Takeout Central was coming, have to think that started at the restaurant’s end. I ordered a 12 oz. Cheeseburger Club, medium w/the hot chips. After seeing all the good reviews about those chips, couldn’t wait, but cold chips just don’t cut it. Now, I realize it can be rather tricky cooking patties that are rather on the thin side to medium, but these were absolutely well done. Ordered cheese quesadillas and mozzarella sticks. They were cold but just okay. Overall, not worth price, at least in my opinion. Perhaps eating at the restaurant would yield better results. Also, forgot to note with the Club Cheeseburger — NO bacon.

Benders is a great place to kick back. It has a cozy vibe with plenty of fun activities(including a mini arcade) and over 8TV’s so you can always catch a glimpse of the game. Their beer specials are 2nd to none. They have excellent food at an inexpensive price. Their queadiallas are to die for. All in all, it is a fun place to go to eat, watch sports and play a few games. Will definitely return many times in the future.

I come here for the burgers and chips. I love me some hot chips and ranch. They really have great burgers and seem to have a large crowd all the time. I wish they were a little cheaper but you do get pretty decent quality food. The last time I was there I witnessed several police there but not really sure what happened. I just remember getting my food to go and heading back home to clock back in.

I came here initially under the impression that this is where the south carolina gamecock club watches the games. Having gone to gamecock club events in other cities, I expected a good turnout and the staff to take care of the fans. However, that was not the case and it’s now no surprise that hardly any fans were there. The waitress ignored us mostly and messed up orders constantly. She was more concerned with egging on the extremely rowdy crew of drunk guys who kept blocking our view of the game when they stood up to chug from beer pitchers and sing at the top of their lungs. We ended up leaving at half time because the atmosphere was so terrible. Those guys should have been cut off. The only plus was that when we finally got our food it was pretty good for pub food.

I don’t think I could have had a better time here even if our bartender Sarah wasn’t a f’n heathen Duke fan. Unfortunately, she lacks the soul and intellectual acumen to really understand why she should root for a legitimate team such as NC State. But who am I to bash on someone for their ignorant decisions in sports fandom? Anyway, Sarah was excellent at keeping my beer full despite the fact she knew she wasn’t getting any tip in the first place due to her unfortunate allegiances. Also, her hair is pretty. Go to Bender’s. Tell her that her bae Mike sent you. ;-) Ok, so maybe I tipped her.

I went for the first time on a Saturday night to watch football with some friends. There were plenty of TV’s and tables, and the specials were awesome(15.00 a bucket for craft beers… from a pretty good list of 40 or so). The food was mediocre, but not bad at all for a divish sports pub. The crowd was a pretty good mixture of demographics, and there was definitely a pleasantly jovial feel to the bad. They also had quite an array of arcade/skill games there, as well as a single pool table. The outside area had a few additional tables on the deck available for smoking. All in all, a great place to catch a game, or grab a bite and a beer.

Great daily drink specials. Best trivia in town on Tuesdays and Karaōke on Fridays. Try the hot teriyaki wings they have a little spice and a lot of flavor! Keep an eye out for special events that bring in some popular bands. A great low key, local place with lots of good people.

This place is a whole lot nicer than I expected. The bar and tables are nice and there are a few arcade type games and a patio for dining out front though not very scenic facing parking lot and Market St. I was lured in by a Groupon($ 20 for $ 10). I have to say, money well spent. It was pretty empty around 2pm but nonetheless, I started my Saturday afternoon(Yankees vs Rays) at a high table in the center of the joint with boneless wings(half lemon pepper and half hot teriyaki) as an app. The wings were large chunks of chic breast. The batter did not adhere well to the poultry. The lemon pepper flavor was dry rubbed and non existing. The later flavor was not exciting at all. I followed the app with the burger pictured. My road dog had the Philly cheesesteak. My burger was tasty and the fries and hot chips were on point. Not bad all on all.

Benders is one of my favorite local bars. Always good drink and food specials. Always good service … Definitely worth checking out… ½ price burgers on Thursdays and cheap wings on Sundays…

This is my Sunday football bar. They do $ 1 off beers, and play as many games as they can fit on the televisions. The crowd is made up of mostly Sunday regulars, with some new faces that come in every now and then. I’ve ordered most of the food on the menu at different times, and everything has been good. I absolutely love their mozzarella sticks and their fried mac –n– cheese. The quesadillas are worth it to order, as they are dripping with toppings. The pizzas are great for a non-pizza place. The hot ham and cheese is excellent as well. And, of course, my favorite would be the sweet potato fries. Being a regular on a particular day makes the service seem all that more spectacular. The bartenders as well as one of the owners know me by name, and that puts a smile on my face. I have ventured in for lunch, only to find an empty bar and service that was slightly below par. The entertainment is great. They do trivia every Tuesday night(which I cannot usually attend as it’s later in the evening I have to get up in the morning). They do karaōke every Friday night. One Thursday a month they play Bingo for some awesome prizes. Now that summer is right around the corner, they are getting ready for at least 3 cornhole tournaments. They do live bands some weekend nights as well. The décor makes the place seem extremely cozy. They recently put up a shelving display behind the bar so that you do not have to lean over the bar to see what bottled beers they have. They have all sorts of signs and sports décor on the walls, displayed tastefully. There are video games, a pool table, and a music machine as well. They have recently taken Big Buck Hunter out, which is to my dismay, however, I still enjoy my visits!

We went on a weird night, so I’m primarily reviewing the food. Apparently all the other tables were for a group that had a rabbit show or something at the convention center and we were mistaken for being with the group; so it took about 20 minutes before a waitress apologetically took our orders. Afterward, our waitress was very attentive. We had a $ 20 Groupon to use, so my husband and I ended up ordering a lot of food. We started with two appetizers: Fried Green Beans and Spicy Cheese Dip. We both loved the green beans with ranch dipping sauce; I could tell they used fresh beans. The cheese dip was pretty good, it had a spice I couldn’t place, cumin maybe? I ordered cheese quesadillas for my meal and I was pleasantly surprised how full the quesadilla was, they did not skimp on the cheese. I didn’t care for the salsa served along side the quesadilla, but not big deal. My husband loved the fish and chips. We’ve decided to come back on another night, when there isn’t a weird rabbit convention, to order the Green Bean Fries again and try their fried Mac-N-Cheese.

I have only been to Benders a time or two, but when I went the bartenders were prompt and the service was good. They have an amazing veggie pizza if you’re into that… I know I am! I would recommend this as a great sports bar.

Great local bar – good food, drink specials and entertainment. With cornhole, Golden Tee, pool and a great selection of beers($ 2 Tuesday pint night? Nice!), it’s a great place to hang out. As the other reviewers mentioned, one of the interesting aspects of the bar is the range of age of the patrons from 20’s through 50’s…really a diverse crowd. It gets crowded late, especially on the weekends, so go earlier or in the middle of the week if you are looking for a more laid back atmosphere.

This is definitely a bar that offers some food items, and you probably need to do some of the bar scene first, and then try the food. Our call in order of a Hot Dog, a BBQ Sandwich, and a Cheeseburger took just over 30 minutes and the wait really wasn’t worth it. The Hot Dog had a decent enough wiener, but there was just too much mustard, and the obviously canned chili contained BEANS, and no zip. The BBQ Sandwich was mostly bread — there was a thin layer of pork. soaked in a sweet, red sauce, and an even thinner layer of a strange tasting slaw. The Cheeseburger was better than average, but the FF were the ridged rectangles from hell — no flavor, no seasoning, and no texture. The other side was Pasta Salad, also dull. The bar scene here might be good — there are all sorts of games, amusements, a pool table, and 3 or 4 big screen TV’s. They have a wide selection of beers to choose from, and daily drink specials. Might want to give that a try, but the food is just not worth the price, with the possible exception of the Burger.

Best local bar in town. You get that real«Cheers» experience when your there. Owner is amazing and does an incredible job of taking care if all patrons. Rest of staff falls in the same stature. If your looking for a fun place to enjoy a Friday or Saturday night without all the downtown drama you’ve found it. Even better during Football season!

Benders is great good bar food great beer selection owner anna is pretty much the best ever!!! $ 5 lunch special changes daily, often have 1.50 cans, and big fish bowl flavored liquor drinks, Benders Tavern is also famous for housing 4 of the top nationally ranked power putt players in the country, they can get boisterous but are generally harmless, just dont talk shit about the jets too loud…

This was a fun place– as the previous reviewer stated its low key. The crowd ranged from 20 somethings to Cougars. The bar staff did a great job accommodating a large birthday party and did a nice pour on drinks. They were very nice all night. They also have some pretty amazing drink specials for that area. They have a huge selection of girly drinks called«Bender Bowls» and those were yummy– try the Gummy Worm! They also have a large selection of bar food and sandwiches. DJ played fun music– I heard their karaōke is pretty infamous :) I would love to go back

The atmosphere here on a Friday night centered around locals and regulars. It has a low-key watering hole feel. The food was tasty bar-food(nachos were huge and delicious) and the beer selection was good. The owner was happy to discuss food and beverage selections and the bar staff was friendly, too. Nothing fancy — it has a small game room, a couple of booths, pretty nice long bar, and some tables in the middle. If you’re looking for a laid-back place to grab a bite and beverage Benders fits the bill.
