The new Cook Out location off Wendover is certainly a big place. This building used to be a brazilian restaurant, and was a Schlotzsky’s Deli originally. The result of this is a Cook Out with a MUCH larger dining room than you would normally see. Many locations have no dining room at all, much less one of this size. The remodel was very well done though, large glass paneling and pretty high cielings, good table layout. The same great Cook Out fast food is still present here at their usual cheap prices. The only thing that kind of stinks here, is that there is not one of their signature double-drive thrus! I know it would have no been possible since this was a remodel of a building that already had just a single drive thru, and that side flanks an exit road, but it does lead to a long line and wait. That said, the owners have done what they can to mitigate that problem. There are multiple menu boards so you can figure out what you want to eat before you are at the microphone, and the staff is quick at the window. All in all, a worthy location addition to one of the best fast food chains around!

The busiest intersection on NC finally had a Cookout! This Wendover location is a bit off the beaten path in the retail jungle of shops, but well worth seeking out over the other burger and fast food options. It can be found by going down to Sapp Rd and turning into the Target complex, or coming thru the Target parking lot off Bridford Pkwy. This location had indoor seating and the usual log cabin style theme. It was nice and clean on my visit. Combos are only $ 4.99 and come with several sandwich options like original burger, big double burger, bbq, spicy & cajun grilled chicken, hot dogs or chicken tenders. You also get 2 sides with choices like fries, onion rings, hush puppies, corn dog, wraps and slaw. You also get a regular drink or huge tea. Considering the freshness of the food, all the numerous toppings and the price, Cookout is by far the top fast food place in my opinion. All these new $ 4 combos don’t even come close to this place. And the dozens of varieties of milkshakes? Don’t even get a fat man started on that. peanut butter fudge Oreo.

This apparently is a brand new Cookout location located near the Target Center on Wendover. have been to one other in town, which was a drive through only, so this is my first experience at a sit in location. Like the other location, the place is not much apart from a good spot to grab a quick and cheap bite. The décor is nice looking and there are enough tables scattered throughout to make it a good destination to eat, especially after shopping for a while in the area. The food however, hasn’t changed and is still the same quality which can be a good or bad thing depending on your taste. The menu is huge, and filled with low priced burgers, hot fogs, chicken sandwiches, and more. The hot dogs are small and cheap tasting and not something I enjoy. However if you are a fan of putting a lot of toppings on them, you might be happy with the choices you have and might enjoy it more than I do. The hush puppies I had were hard and dry. Not pleasant. However I do have a soft spot for their grilled chicken sandwiches, and I will probably come back for them at some point. I know a lot of people really like their shakes, and come here for them, rather than the food, however I am not a huge fan. Still, this place is ok for the price and the quantity of food you can buy is enormous. I wouldn’t come here unless it was convenient for me to do so.

Second time eating here and I LOVE this place. Good Burgers with mustard, chili, onion and slaw, Onion Rings, French Fries, Milk Shakes to die for, and can even get a Cheerwine Float with that. I admit I have a lot of eating to try out new things, but, the fact that there are new things to try out makes it my kind of place. Seems to be a «Friendly Place» so I will Review again later on…

I’ll have to come back to leave a complete review, but it looks like Cook Out has finally broken the curse of this location! With one of the largest indoor dining areas of any Cook Out we’ve ever visited, the vibe is friendly and warm. We’ll be back!
