Wish they offered more vegetarian options! A little on the overpriced side for what we got.

Ordered a sandwich and side of fruit. Sandwich and fruit were both fresh and portioned appropriately for lunch. Was not completely satisfied considering the cost but I do tend to eat more than I should. Nothing«wow» or incredibly special about this place but definitely not bad.

On this occasion, we were actually trying to go to Crafted — The Art of the Taco, but they were closed until 5pm the day after Christmas, so we walked around the corner to Liberty Oak — another great vegetarian option, as two in our party don’t do meat. I’m so glad that it turned out this way, as we were able to sit on the patio(70 degrees all week), and 3 other friends happened to show up and sit at a nearby table, too! It was one friend’s birthday, so I stalked her server and paid for her lunch before we left. The server did a great job of accommodating me on that little surprise. I had the turkey and havarti croissant, with a side of their basil aioli — fabulous! My little side salad was pennance for holiday overindulging, but next time I’ll get the fries which have a rosemary salt and were reported to be quite good.

We had our first meal in Greensboro prior to moving here in 2004, and it continues to impress. Sitting outside on a sunny day is delightful, and generous portions ensure no hunger at the table. Such a wide selection but the Uncle Bialy and the Cuban wrap with pulled pork were latest we enjoyed.

We had a wonderful dinner at Liberty Oak last night. There’s not a better place to dine on a nice evening than Liberty Oak’s patio. We didn’t have reservations so there was a thirty minute wait for our table. Not bad considering there was a play at Triad Stage around the corner. When the hostess was seating us she told us that with the pre-show rush that the kitchen was a little bit backed up so our food might be slow coming out. I greatly appreciated the warning and given the patio was so nice, had no problem of leisurely talking and drinking the night away. Turns out, the wait time from the kitchen was actually pretty short, but I appreciated the warning anyway. Liberty Oak has a very interesting menu with seafood, beef, chicken, pasta, and vegetarian options. After a couple of terrific appetizers, our party had the Short Ribs, Savanna Roast, the ravioli of the day(5 cheese smothered in a sixth cheese), and shrimp n’ grits. Everything was excellent with the Brussels sprout risotto being voted the best part of the dinner. I can’t think of a better place to enjoy a dinner with friends than Liberty Oak. A friendly, relaxed, urban restaurant that offers great food with excellent service. What more could you ask for?

Not sure what happened to one of our favorite places in Greensboro for date night. Menu was extremely limiting… what happened to Sara’s supper? Prices have been raised $ 3 – 5 on all items. $ 10 – 12 for an appetizer? Once we did get our meals they were not worth the $ 20 – 25 we paid for them. My crab cakes were tiny and not very good. The French fries had about a cup of grease to go with them. Hoping Liberty Oak gets back to there normal ways soon… competition is right around the corner!

Liked the feel of the place. The bar at the front, dark and woody, wouldn’t mind sitting there for a while. Found the food to be fussy and overdone. Something something with something something on a bed of somethinged something, napped with a something something sauce and topped with something somethings. Calvin Trillin used to call this style«stuff stuff with heavy». Main course selection seemed to have one of everything. Would have been much more charmed with a shorter list, featuring fresh ingredients, simply prepared. My tuna was served with an odd chunk cut out of it after cooking. Was a piece burnt or misbehaved? Curious. Not bad, just, well, fussy.

I chose this place for the 30th birthday party for my partner and 14 of our friends. The place was beautiful, dim, and cozy. I spent $ 175 to rent the top floor balcony area for the gathering. Everyone liked the space and felt comfortable… for the majority of the evening. The«renting» process was fairly easy for the most part although I think the price to rent the area was a bit steep. We sat the birthday boy at the table against the wall while opening presents and cars while the rest of us were at the table area. During this time at least 7 employees walked in between us and the birthday boy grabbing papers and personal belongings. So we had to stop taking pictures and whatnot every time they walked by. This went on the course of the night as well and not just during the present opening… even though that was the most inconvenient time. It would have been less rude if they would have said something when passing or waited for the photo to be taken before walking in front. Several of them didn’t even seem to notice we were doing anything and walked through almost running into people. Maybe next time there is a private event up there it would be best to store things like that in a different area? We had two servers: one being nice and prompt and one who popped around every-so-often but was sharp and pushy. The food wasn’t my favorite either and I really hate to say that. The hummus plate was nice although it could have used more bread. The spring rolls had awesome flavor but were a little over done. The crab dip was probably the best thing of the night to be honest. It was creamy and delicious. If I go back I will getting that. I ordered the short ribs. First off, I had to use my knife to cut them. They weren’t nearly as tender as the server made it seem they were. The flavor was okay although a little sweet for my taste. I was a little off put by the amount of residual grease/oil that formed a ring around the sauce on the plate. It wasn’t appetizing to look at. The risotto had decent flavor but was cold when I got it and has started to congeal to the point that it was all sticking together and not as a risotto should be. Several of the guests complained about their food being less that hot. We made the party a success. I wish it had been as I pictured it though.
