Hmm, having worked in a high ranking torrid in Columbus — I definitely have experienced better. The staff were friendly, I guess my main complaint is how the store was presented. When the average price of clothing is $ 55 dollars, I would like some effort on part of the associate to spruce of the place a bit. Perhaps I am biased, since I have worked at another location. Since this is the only game in town I will most likely be back, and definely shopping with coupons.

The clothes in this place are almost as shifty and shady as their credit card policies. DONOT open a credit card account here. It is a total racket. They charge you $ 15 to pay the same day, in other words… to pay on time. And I’m paying this on the shady«security» feature they set-up when I first opened the account, not even on merchandise. I was a new customer and now I can GUARANTEE I will NEVER shop there again. That place sucks. I’m seriously thinking of cancelling my Lane Bryant too just because they are associated. SHADYBUISNESSES! DON’T GIVETHEMYOURHARD– EARNEDMONEY!

Torrid moved to a smaller store on the first floor at Four Seasons. The options are now pretty limited, and overpriced for what you get. Deb’s is on the second floor, and has a much larger plus size section. The pricing is also much better, and the looks are trendier. Since plus size clothes are limited, of course I will still be a Torrid fan, but I am checking Deb’s first. Sorry Torrid, there’s a new sheriff in town!

In a sense, I consider Torrid to be what would happen if Hot Topic and Lane Bryant had a baby. Their clothes are cute and fun without being all serious and frumpy. Along with some stylish basics they also have band t-shirts in our size, and not like John Mayer and Maroon 5(no offense!) but bands like The Ramones, Van Halen, Blondie, The Misfits. They have cute bathing suits. They’ve got cute intimates. In fact, I just went shopping here this afternoon. I’ve been to Torrid once before and when I found out this mall had one, I had to go and check it out. The sales associates are really great too. I’d talk highly of the one who helped me but all I have on my receipt is an employee number and that’s not helpful to anyone. Also if you don’t see something in store, make sure to check out their website. Chances are they have it, and they probably have it in your size. Which reminds me, I need to go there myself. I’m still a little sad that Ramones t-shirt wasn’t in my size in the store.
