I purchased a Groupon for a Signature Customized Facial. The Groupon deal was $ 39.00 for what they usually would charge $ 75.00. Over the years, and services, I have become apprehensive about using Groupon. Just recently I have had two other service experiences that didn’t work out very well. I am beginning to wonder why people/businesses offer these«deals» when they don’t want to hold up their end of the bargain. Isn’t this why businesses use Groupon to get their names out there? I digress. My facial appointment was this past Saturday. This business is located in an office type of building with suites. I was informed they recently moved there from another location. I arrived, met with the gal who would be doing my facial. She was very nice. We moved into another room and she began the facial. So here are the deets. She wiped my face clean and let this mini facial steamer blow on my face. While that was going on she massaged my hands. I thought that was nice, and thanked her for that. Once the steamer was done she applied a mask. Then she left the room for approximately 10 minutes. She arrived back and wiped the mask off and massaged lotion onto my face and rubbed my head. And that was the extent of my facial. She politely told me to take my time getting up and would meet me in the other room, as she exited and closed the door. I was experiencing some buyer’s remorse. I have had several facials and never one this basic. I know this was a discounted facial in price, but I thought I was getting the regular treatment at the discounted rate. I kept thinking how mad I’d be if I had spent $ 75.00, but I still spent almost $ 40.00 before tip. I met the lady in the other room and she asked if I wanted to schedule another facial at the discounted rate. I felt a little awkward and asked if I had to do that today, she said yes. I said thank you but I will pass. I tipped her and left. I am disappointed in what the signature customized facial entailed. It didn’t feel signature or custom. It felt quick. I want to say, again, that the girl that worked on me did fine at what she did. I really wish they would have detailed this«signature/custom» facial on their Groupon. I most likely wouldn’t have purchased to begin with, but then again this was a Groupon experience. Perhaps the regular priced facial is more thorough and in line with other facials I received. Giving 3 stars because the girl was nice but I think I am just about done using Groupon for services.

Best for eyebrows in the area! Very particular with my eyebrows and who and what gets done to them. Angela is the best! Would recommend her to anyone.

I went in for a haircut. I booked with the owner based on claims on the website(23 years experience, etc). I had my hair in a below-the-chin classic bob with a little stacking right at the neckline. She asked when I walked in if I liked my haircut. I explained I did and only wanted it trimmed up, and maybe softened up with a few thin angled bangs in the front. Then I relaxed and focused on other things while she worked on my hair, thinking I was in good hands. It was only after I left that it occurred to me I had not been offered a mirror and turned around to see the back of my hair. Nor had I been asked to tip my head forward — which I am almost always asked to do when a stylist is shaping the graduated neckline. When I got home I found a mirror and looked at the back of my hair. I was horrified. It was flat. It had what looked like chewed-off layers, including one short layer in the middle of the back of my head that did not graduate into anything. Then there were long, random uneven pieces sticking out the bottom. One very long one on the left side of my head, for example, that wasn’t there on the right. I wanted to cry. I called the salon the next morning, and she told me to come back in. When I got there and started showing her the problem, she said, «Oh, the bottom of your hair must have been down under the towel and inside the cape.» WHODOESTHAT??? Who starts cutting someone’s hair without even making sure they have all the hair out of the cape or towel? Without even finding the neckline? How can you possibly cut hair without doing this? ESPECIALLY when you are doing a graduated bob? I wouldn’t even expect this with a discounted haircut from a student let alone from the owner of a reputable salon who claims years of experience. She then said, «okay, I guess I will have you tip your head forward so I can cut the neckline. In the future I will know you have a short neck and I will need you to tip your head forward.» WHAT? I have never been told I have a short neck. I have never seen a stylist try to cut a graduated neckline without having the client tip their head REGARDLESSOFTHELENGTHOFTHECLIENT’S NECK. Additionally, because she originally cut the hair with the bottom layers in the cape, she apparently thought she was starting with a shorter haircut than she really was. So when she cut the layers in at that level(instead of at what was REALLY the base of the neckline) well you can imagine the damage that was done. Now all she could do with the long pieces sticking out the bottom was cut them off even with the bottom layer, which she did. This made the bottom layer too thick to lay nicely, of course. And there is still that lone short layer in the middle of the back of my head. Suddenly I remembered her saying as she was cutting the day before, «You want about an inch off, right?» I answered, «No, I just want the neckline trimmed up in the back.» Suddenly I realized she must have had that layer cut before she asked. Then she just left it and jumped down to start the next layer. So now I am left with a much shorter bob than I wanted — with a thick layer at the very bottom — and a short layer in the middle of the back of my head that doesn’t blend with anything. I worked so hard to grow my bob past this length because I don’t want the fullness right on the sides of my face where it makes my face look heavier. I had finally gotten it where I wanted it with the fullness under my chin. Now I am right back where I started. Further she tried to tell me it will take only 6 weeks to grow out that short layer in the back. The truth is, however, for it to catch up with the rest of the hair cut I will have to cut the rest of the haircut short, again. I hate that thought — so I will probably have to live with his odd short layer for a long time. Meanwhile, while I am trimming the bottom of the hair, I will not be able to keep trimming this odd sort layer. With tinted hair this means the ends will become dry — making the layer even more noticeable. Finally, I have a neckline(like many people) which grows down further in the center than on the sides. This means you have to cut it slightly concave in the back to make it lay nicely. Otherwise it cowlicks to a point in the center. I try to remember to mention this to new stylists. Most good stylists, however, discover this because they ACTUALLYLOOK at a client’s hair/hairline before they start cutting. Of course, THIS stylist did NOT discover this — how could she with half the hair still stuck inside the cape? So in addition to everything else, I have a point in the middle of my neckline. I just cannot understand how she could not see that the hair I had when I walked into the shop was longer than the hair she started cutting with the bottom stuck in the cape. I just cannot understand how she could not see, when I took the cape off to pay, that there was weird, long, uneven hair sticking out the bottom in the back.

I have been going to this salon every six weeks for almost a year and I absolutely love my hair. The cut and color is always the latest style(right now Blonde and Deep Red Chunk) and my hair has never felt healthier. Believe me you won’t be disappointed Ask for Amy
