I’ve had a few meals here and they’re all delicious. You can’t go wrong with the food here. Everything I’ve had and everything everyone with me has had has been utterly delicious. It takes a bit longer because it’s made from scratch, but it’s excellent. On the ridiculous side, they charge $ 1 for extra bread rolls. I really don’t think I’ve ever been to a restaurant, no matter how pretentious, that tries to charge you $ 1 for a bread roll. Also, this may sound silly, but every other word out of the waiters/waitresses mouth starts with«Chef Heather…» As in, «Chef Heather has the following specials tonight…» «Chef Heather has the following six entrees, Chef Heather’s salmon, Chef Heather’s steak… The waiter literally had to ask all 6 people at our table if they would like to upgrade to «Chef Heather’s special salads…» Instead of «Chef Heather’s house salad.» It got to the point that I was fully prepared to jam a $ 1 bread roll in this poor fellow’s face if he said«Chef Heather» one more time. Alternatively, had the opportunity presented itself, I probably would have pelted«Chef Heather» with a $ 1 bread roll just on the principle of having to repeatedly hear, «Chef Heather.» It’s clearly mandated, but quite annoying. Otherwise, an excellent place.

This is an odd restaurant with and interesting menu. The three stars I s mainly for service. Asking the waiter about a gluten allergy, he was not informative at all. Wound up getting one of the fish dishes and after numerous times reminding them of the allergy they served it with soy sauce. The fish was OK, nothing great but good for the area. The food also took almost 50 minutes to come out. I would give it another chance, would just want to try some other places first

Holy cow, this place is a must. I was lucky enough to be there for the Lamb special and was absolutely blown away. The service was fantastic and the chief/owner was sure to stop by and make sure everything was up to par, and believe me it was, talking hole in one style here! The actual restaurant is not what meets the eye at first so don’t let its appearance fool you. A Greenville hole in the wall hotspot!

Excellent place to dine! So Plum Tree Bistro closes at 9:00, I showed up with my date around 8:15(It was my birthday!). The wait staff greeted us with a friendly smile and welcome attitude knowing that we would be there well after closing time. This is important to note since if you are dining here then you should not be a big rush. This was a dining experience, not a dine a dash as appetizers, salads and entrees were brought out one at a time with adequate time between to relish each plate. I chose the coconut shrimp appetizer which came out first. The shrimp was cooked perfectly, very tender and not a hint of chewiness(I grew up on the coast and ate shrimp a lot so I am very picky about how they are cooked). Next they brought out the house bread and olive oil dip, the bread was perfect, hard on the outside and warm and soft on the inside. That was followed by a house salad with basalmic vinaigrette. The salad was very fresh, be warned though, the vinaigrette was very vinegary so use sparingly unless you really like a vinegar taste. For entrees we had the Chicken Frangelico and Salter’s Friend Chicken. The Chicken Frangelico was an pecan encrusted masterpiece and the hazelnut crème sauce was amazing! The sauce was slightly sweet which was a little surprising but nice. The Salter’s Chicken was an encrusted chicken as well, stuffed with almond cheese and pears topped with a thyme cream sauce. I enjoyed this meal the best as all the flavors complemented each other very well. The chicken was very tender in both cases and the veggies were very tasty. For drinks we had the house Pinot Gris which was nice and crisp. The Owner came out to great us just as we finished our meal. She is very friendly and made us feel welcome to be there even though it was past closing time. This is definitely a place I will return to.

I live up North and was in the area because I am looking at schools to transfer to. We’ve had trouble finding a decency place to go to, but this is definitely the place to go for a nice dinner! My dad, boyfriend and I stopped here for dinner. We walked in and were seated by a very nice waitress in an awesome atmosphere. Started off with the calamari and then we told the waitress we wanted the baked Brie. She came back saying it would take 25 minutes, but we didn’t mind because it sounded so good and it was the best Brie I’ve ever had! Then for my entrée I had the crab cakes. Another great choice. The chef(who is also the owner) came out during our dinner because she couldn’t believe how long we wanted to wait for the Brie. Her and her husband have owned the place for 15 years and she even went to Italy for cooking school. Overall a great night with awesome food and very nice employees! Highly recommend to anyone that goes to Greenville NC!

We had a wonderful dinner on 3/7/15/We started with the house and caesar salads and some glasses of the house wines-all very tasty. We chose the chicken cannelloni and one of the specials, pimento chicken, for entrees. Both were delicious and the special was served with mashed potatoes and a nice mix of green beans and carrots. The ambience was very nice and it was obvious this is a place to enjoy a leisurely dinner. At the end, the chef came out to see if the dinner had met our expectations, which it did! With a couple of drinks each and tip, it ran a little under $ 50/person. A real gem for Greenville.

My first time here with hopefully many more to come. Had the Ahi Tuna special. It was the best I’ve ever had. Definitely a must go to place in Greenville. Service was terrific. We arrived early for dinner(they open at 5:30). They opened the door and welcomed us in. Appetizers, drinks and dessert were top notch too.

Went there some time ago. Loved it. Considering the store/restaurant front(not too appealing) — walking inside is a nice surprise. Good environment, the owner is personable and at your table side. Food was great. I enjoyed the wine. Will return

Oh my goodness. You may have to wait a little while for the chef to prepare your food but the wait is well worth it. It is quite apparent that the chef knows how to cook from scratch. The food was soooo wonderful that I almost wanted to go in the back and hug the chef who happened to come out to greet us while we were eating our salads.(Have her special salad dressing– it is awesome.) I had the scallops and the shrimp. The seafood ravioli was a special surprise.

I was treated graciously by the owner while sitting at the bar. His wife is the chef. I had a delicious steak and enjoyed their company tremendously. Dont miss a good steak here.

One if the best meals all 9 of us ever had anywhere. Great food and service. The bonus was the amazing owners; they made us feel like family — even better, like old friends!!!

Duck was delicious, but the service was terrible. We had to wait 20 minutes for the salad and another 40 minutes for the duck. The slow service was the fault of a party according to the chef. Dining room only had 4 tables occupied. Suggestion is to ask if there is a party planned and schedule an another time unless one has all evening to spend. I do not.

Wonderful restaurant owned and run by a lovely husband and wife team. He mans the front as host. He gives the run down on the nights dishes the way only a husband who loves his wife’s cooking can. The chef told us most of her dishes including that night’s fresh strawberry and pound cake are based on what she finds at the local farmers and other markets. I had that evening’s special of roasted duck with an apricot glaze, stuffed with Chevre. This is a dish that could go very good or very bad. It was the good kind, the very good kind. Again, my co-workers ordered and we shared desserts. I just remember them all being heavenly. If you’re visiting or live nearby, try this place. You can’t go wrong.

I overlooked this place and underestimated the uniqueness of this restaurant. It has a cute, glowing interior. Very nice staff and chef. I went there with a friend. We are so alike, we ordered the same dish: seared duck with blue berry sauce, mashed potatoes and vegetable mélange. The duck breast was very good but the blueberry sauce was on the sweet side. The bread served was light, crispy crusted and fluffy on the inside. Salad is beautifully arranged. For drinks, my friend had a margarita and I had a Long Island ice tea. Mixed drinks are so-so and could be better. For desert, we had the raspberry homemade cheese cake and it was delicious. Overall, it was a little pricey for what you get, but I do recommend it if you have not visit here before.

What an amazing amazing find. In a town full of chains this is truly a wonderful culinary experience. The interior is vey artsy and cozy, the staff is fabulous and whole eating at Plum Tree we observed the owner and Chef visit each table. The chefs passion for the food and her restaurants shows by how she takes the time to visit each table and the quality of the food. Everything is made in house from fresh ingredients and boy can you tell. I had the Duck for dinner which was FABULOUS! The blueberry sauce made the dish in my opinion. The mashed potatoes and veggies served with the duck were beautifully prepared and delicious. I urge you try Plum Tree, it really is a treat!

A strip mall is a deceptive façade for such a relaxing tasteful atmosphere and well prepared food. The menu is not massive but does meet the needs of a group and is not too pricey. The seafood and salads are fresh and flavorful. I’ve never had a bad meal here. A word about service: It’s obvious that the principals for this business are in the kitchen. It’s not that the service is bad, it’s just spotty due to the heavy use of students working the front. This is a college town and they use the available workforce. Keep a sense of humor, and a light heart(It helps to imagine your kids in their first job when the wait staff say, or do, something goofy) and enjoy a great meal.

I have been here a few times and the food is always great. Do not let the outward appearance fool you. This is not your average store front Bistro. What awaits you inside is a taste bud extravaganza. All the food is made from scratch and served to your liking. No pre made or pre processed food here. They have a wine selection second to none. His name means«rolling down the hill drunk«He can tell you what his name is. We had a Graduation Dinner for my son when he graduated from ECU. They did a great job. Give it a try, you will be glad you did.
