I live in Manhattan. My mother and I went up to Greenwich to spend the weekend with family for Thanksgiving. On Friday Morning, walking down Greenwich Ave, we stumbled into J.b.V. There is something to be said for walking into a business that has such a warm and inviting feeling about it. The sales representatives after greeting us prepared a little tea and cookies for Mom while she bounced from case to case, wide-eyed and bushy-tailed. Everyone was very helpful and knowledgeable about each piece she fancied. Needless to say, Mom — who’s a very tough critic — kept mentioning how wonderful this family business was run, and how beautiful the collections were. Of course, the native New Yorker had to throw in that she hadn’t had such a pleasant experience in her own city recently. We were definitely impressed. Don’t know if she was more impressed with great experience the owners provided, or the necklace she happy walked out with. We will definitely be back. They also mentioned they have another location in Great Neck, Long Island — which is probably closer to the city for us. Worth checking out.
