This was my wife’s and my favorite bakery and coffee house for several years, so I was heartbroken to find out yesterday that they are no longer in business! A staple of downtown Gresham for many years, the original owners sold the business in Sept 2014, and apparently the new owners couldn’t handle it. Tried to order a cake for this weekend, called and phone # is disconnected, drove by on a hunch and there’s a big«For Lease» sign out front of this beautiful historic 1901 house. Major blow to Gresham.

I drove to this bakery special to get pastries. It’s 11:45 on Saturday and they are closed. This site and their Facebook page both say they are open today. Very disappointing and a waste of my precious time.

Lovely place with delish pastries & coffee, not to mention great service. And to top: they donate all their tips to local charities. I heart local lovers!

Really really nice atmosphere for coffee or casual lunch. I went in afternoon so bakery selection was low in choices. Tried a ginger lemon scone and blueberry scone. I gave them three stars because of scones. They were sweet, but more like a big biscuit with a sweet glaze. Traditional scones should be less like this baking powder type biscuit. I didn’t try coffee because K& F isn’t a favorite of mine. Hope to try their cupcakes soon!

Very cute and cosey atmosphere. This is exactly how a down to earth coffee shop should be like! I got the cinnamon roll latte… worth every penny! It was delicious! The staff is friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be coming back here again.

Monica offers a wide range of pastries baked fresh everyday. Unlimited coffee available as well as specialty coffees. Seating area is very homey. A room is available to be reserved for meetings.

My sister buys berry scones here every year for our reunion. This year I went with her to pick them up and had a latte. My goodness the scones are great but that latte is FANTASTIC!!! Plus the wonderful craftsman surroundings

Update from before: They no longer serve Stumptown. Now it’s K&F. Meh. I feel like it’s still Stumptown pricing though. And they’ve talked now for two years about being open later in the evening but all I’ve seen is a decline of hours open. It doesn’t effect me anymore because I only go mid to late mornings, but if I wanted a fun coffee place to meet up with old friends or a girls night it would’ve been nice to have it here. The pastries are still to die for, and the employees are nice. Wish I could rave about this place like before, but all I’ve got is it’s still better than Café D.

Stopped by this cute coffee place with my mom last week and I was definitely pleasantly surprised by the charm of this place. Our drinks tasted awesome and the Strawberry shortcake was to die for!!! My mom is extremely picky about coffee shops, she would not come in Starbucks if you pay her! This charming place is our favorite coffee place in town! In fact, we are headed that way today, can’t wait to try more stuff there!

Very good coffee, and incredible baked goods. Seriously. They are baked fresh daily. It is very good quality for the price. They often have gluten free, vegetarian, and/or dairy-free options. Very very good. Beautiful property.

I really really-really-really want a cozy coffee place with exceptional baked goods in Gresham. There just isn’t one. I came here many times, and witnessed them slowly work out most of their early kinks as their business evolved(such as making sure they had a variety of sweeteners available, skim milk available for coffee so I didn’t have to ask for it and expanding the bakery items). But when they got rid of the Stumptown coffee, that was it for me. I simply don’t like K&F coffee and I think it is substandard. I asked if they were bringing back Stumptown and got a very quick and short«no». I suspect I’m not the only one who has asked. I hate to say it as I thought this was going to be the one. It’s cozy, it’s comfortable, it is of course homey. That doesn’t make up for subpar beans. I think they could do a lot for their business if they bought an roasted their own beans.(See my Green Salmon coffee shop review and Green Salmon’s menu for what this place COULD be.) Gresham deserves a place that good!

Marion Berry & Dark Chocolate Scone I just walked in to the most adorable cottage in Gresham, Oregon! When you first walk in to Banaka & Browns your hit with the smell of fresh baked breads and rosemary. The café is filled with comfortable couches, elegant wooden tables with dark brown stains. The walls are a warm yellow with lamps illuminating the corners of the shop. I’ve fantasized about what arriving at Little Red Riding Hood’s Grandmother’s house would be like, and I’ve had a warm sense of déjà vu since I’ve been here. The display of baked goods at the counter will excite you, but the real show stopper is the Marion berry Dark Chocolate scone. It was the best scone I’ve ever had. Literally. The lighting is mood, the music is pleasing, and the workers are friendly. They offer free wifi and attach the code to all sugar containers, which adds a nice touch of convenience. Along with plenty of outlets, Banaka & Browns makes a great laptop environment as well. Oh and the Coffee: I ordered the latte. It is light, very milky and has a decent layer of foam. It was served in a take out cup. I prefer ceramic. I think the latte made a nice accompaniment to the scone, which was the real show stopper. Overall I give Banaka & Browns an A+ for Atmosphere A+ for baked goods and a B for the latte I think Banaka & Browns provides an amazing atmosphere and delightful treats for any visitor.

Best scone I’ve ever eaten(dark chocolate marionberry), but I couldn’t choke down the coffee. I went here because a video circulating on Facebook boasted Stumptown coffee served here, but it’s not(anymore). The coffee is K&F(& yucky)! If you’re just looking for pastries, this IS the place to go. But get your coffee elsewhere!(«Silk» at 242nd and Stark DOES serve Stumptown and makes the best lattes around here!)

I absolutely love this place! I try to come once a week from SW Portland to get an amazing coffee drink and a lemon ginger scone for myself and the Elvis cupcake(banana, peanut butter, & bacon) for my boyfriend. It’s such a nice, spacious, and relaxing place! The owners are some of the sweetest people on earth and they are so accommodating. I had a bridal shower there for my best friend and everyone(20+ ppl from all over Oregon and the US) was so impressed with the bakery and the food! If only it was closer to me. Oh, and their seasonal cakes and other baked goods are to die for! *see some of the pics from the bridal shower: «French Themed Bridal Shower @ B&B’s» under«more photos»

Probably the best in Gresham coffee wise. I’m unaware of a café in Gresham that does specialty coffee so I heard that they served Stumptown and I checked them out today. Probably the only place I can drink espresso in milk and not have to put sugar in. I really don’t like putting sugar in my drinks but it’s a must at starbucks or café delirium. The shots(yes 2 is standard, like it should be) were a bit over extracted. Meh, forgivable. This place doesn’t even come close to Barista or Coava or similar but it’s now the only place in Gresham I can stand.

I really hate spending $ 5 on a 20oz coffee, but seriously — those specialty drinks are TODIEFOR. It had me going ALL day. The shop itself is super comfy and inviting and the girl that took my order was incredibly sweet. Also — MUFFINS. They make killer muffins. Eat one. Or 8.

Peanut butter and honey scones, fresh baked breads, and other baked goodies all prepared in-house. The place is located in a craftsman house that adds to the coziness. There are lots of places to sit, sip on some coffee, wifi, and play board games. They also have stumptown coffee which is a plus in Gresham. The only negative is the constant buzzer you hear when folks come and go through the door.

HOORAY for Banaka & Brown’s!!! When I heard that there was a new coffee shop in town serving Stumptown, I couldn’t wait to come by! I came in this morning crossing my fingers that this could become *my* coffee shop, and it might just be! Spacious couches & tables, friendly owners, and delish, freshly baked pastries. The owner & her daughter served me, and let me know that all of their ingredients are locally sourced. I tried the turnover — it was sweet, flaky, and generously filled. So thankful for this place! Look for the big blue house on the corner of Main &10th.

*update– they do not have stumptown coffee here anymore. still really nice folks though im so excited that stumptown coffee is being served like a mile from my house, rather then the 20 miles it usually is! i had a large latte and it was great! the breads looked fantastic. i sampled the corn bread and it was delicious. the shop is set up on a house and the rooms are set up so you can hang out(free wi-fi, games, tons of tables, chairs, couches) welcome to the neighborhood!
