My all time favorite spot to get Vietnamese food in Louisiana when I visit. Their seafood hot pot is comparable to the place that I go to in Cali. The restaurant is big so the wait is never long. Food is consistent, service is good.

if your are looking for great Vietnamese food, go no further, do not judge this place by the interior, it is clean very unpretentious a la Chinoise, but the food is the closest you’ll get to enjoy, this part of the world outside of Ho Chi Minh City ex Saigon. Very extensive Vietnamese menu with also Chinese stuff for the hungry soul who misses a Chinese traditional take out. Portions are generous and real tasty, price reasonable, will miss it once back in NYC.

They sell shark fin soup. Don’t support the illegal trade. All told, up to 70 million sharks are culled annually for the trade, despite the fact that 30% of shark species are threatened with extinction. Indonesia, India, Taiwan, Spain and Mexico land the most sharks, according a recent survey of global shark populations conducted by the Pew Environment Group. «Sharks have made it through multiple mass extinctions on our planet,» says Matt Rand, director of Pew’s Global Shark Conservation division. «Now many species are going to go the way of the dinosaur — for a bowl of soup.»

They have excellent buttered Beef. Food is good. Service is slow, but only because it was full. Our requests aren’t ignored or forgotten. I will just highlight What I enjoyed the most. The buttered beef. You are brought a grill to your table. You make you own grilled beef spring rolls. You have your pickled daikon and carrots strips, rice vermicelli noodles, rice wrapping sheets, thin sliced beef, veggies and dipping sauce. Would eat again. Was delicious.

So delicious and the food is always so fresh. So many items to choose from Chinese and Vietnamese the menu is extensive with game, fish, and poultry. I ate mandarin duck and loved it.

The very best Vietnamese resto in New Orleans. Every single dish is authentic and well worth the money. Will be back for more.

Good solid Vietnamese fare. I’ve never ordered Chinese food here. Most of those dishes seem pretty bad for you overall. I’ve eaten here several times and have always been happy with the quality of the food. The service is spotty but it never deterred me from returning. It’s not worth the trip across the bridge unless you have something to do on the Westbank already. I like their pork bun with fried spring roll. They use a very good brand of fish sauce. Yum.

A Vietnamese friend from Vietnam said that this was her favorite Vietnamese restaurant in New Orleans and better than Vietnamese food in Vietnam. Seriously? I haven’t been to Vietnam and could not believe the hyperbole until I went. It is the best Vietnamese food I have ever eaten. I had the Bahn Xeo, Bo Nuong VI(BBQ beef similar to Korean BBQ but with very fresh basil, mint, cilantro, carrots and radish that you roll yourself with the beef on circular rice paper) and deep fried tilapia with ginger and mango. Visited this place three times in seven days in New Orleans. The food is well done and more choices than most of the Vietnamese restaurants in the DC metro region. Herbs are well picked with few flaws. Went to Phở Orchid which was ok, but I had some billing issues where they said a posted price was incorrect and charged me more. One of my favorites for New Orleans and Vietnamese food.

I always come here with my family. It’s the best Vietnamese Family Style Cuisine on the westbank. It’s usually an order of the Canh Chua(sour soup) and the Bo Nuong Vi(grill-it-yourself beef and/or shrimp). The servers are pretty quick on their feet. If you need something they are usually their before you try and find them. When eating lunch here, I like to get the Com Thit Nuong. The way they prepare the meat here is different from all the other Vietnamese places on the westbank(More of a grill on a skewer type) and that’s the reason I like it. So if you’re ever in the area, come by and try it out. You won’t be disappointed.

Food is really good! Menu is huge but I’m sure you will enjoy what ever you order. Place gets packed so don’t be surprised if you feel like the staff is trying to rush you. Still worth the drive to the west-bank!

Other than Dong Phuong, I think it’s the best Vietnamese restaurant in the metro area. Fantastic phở with limitless permutations, fantastic grilled pork bun as well.

The Beef and Broccoli is my new favorite. Generous amount of tender beef in tasty sauce. The Hunan Chicken was wonderful as usual. There is a generous amount of shrimp in the fried rice. I added soy sauce to the fried rice and it made it more flavorful… yeah salt! Vegetable soup in clear broth with crispy veggies. Wonton great, as usual. As always, very good service.

Went there for lunch. The crowd was handled in a timely fashion. It seems like they are prepared to handled a table of one to eight with ease. The food was delicious. I ordered the crêpe and add shrimp and tofu!!! Yummy! I also had the grilled beef spring roll. It was also delicious. I will return.

9 Roses is always my go-to for Vietnamese home cooked dishes. My friends even make the drive to the Westbank from Metairie, Kenner, etc, some visiting several times a week! You can’t beat the flavor-filled home-y dishes! What I recommend: –Bo Nuong Vi: A tabletop grill for cook meats of your choice(beef, squid, shrimp) in which you can wrap into your own custom made springrolls. Served with herbs and vegetables –Bo Tai Chanh: A beef tataki dish, served with herbs, thinly sliced lemons and onions and a «mam nem» sauce. SODELICIOUS. Probably my favorite appetizer here. –Suon Rim Man: Sizzled pork riblets in a brown sauce. This is my son’s absolute favorite. It is eaten with rice. He loves to take the sauce and put it on his rice. –Canh Chua: a sweet and sour soup eaten with rice. It can be served with catfish(my favorite), shrimp, or with just the vegetables. The soup has tomatoes, celery, a sponge-like celery-like vegetable, bean sprouts, pineapples, and a couple other items. –Ca kho to: Vietnamese braised catfish in a clay pot. It has a brown sauce, a LITTLE similar to the Suon Rim Man. They’re similar, yet so different, and both so delicious. This dish is also eaten with rice. Every dish here is really good. I haven’t had a dish I haven’t liked, but those above are my staples, that I get at almost every sitting. It’s a family-style restaurant, so groups will easily be accommodated here. There are booths as well and smaller tables, so a dinner for two is fine too, but you just wouldn’t be able to order all the dishes to try! Love this place, since I was a kid. Still a regular. Oh, and I’m Vietnamese. That has to mean something! =D

Visiting from SD, it’s really nice to see a Vietnamese Resturaunt in town. Place is very spacious(great for groups & kids). Left my tummy satisfied & full. Me and the hubby ordered banh xeo(Vietnamese crêpe made with eggs), hieu tieu Thap cam —(glass noodles with assorted meats), Mi do bien(yellow noodles with seafood) & nem nuong spring roll. Banh xeo was very crispy & tasty — I’d give it a 3. In my opinion, home made is the best. Yellow noodle soup-2, wasn’t all that special. Hieu tieu– 4 tasty and filled with a variety, which is how I like it. The nem nuong –3. Walking in, the place was kind of dark but easy to adjust to. The place very packed which is always a good sign. The waiters & waitresses were quick to get our drinks & orders. The service was great. I would definitely come back here & highly recommend them to anyone and everyone that loves authentic Vietnamese food. I’m sure they have so much more then what we ordered. The place smelled awesome, just like home.

Consistently the best Vietnamese in the area. Do not come here without getting 17.03– egg noodles with stewed duck leg and mushrooms. For $ 1 extra, add the wontons: delicate, and flavorful. The duck leg is rich and meaty, the broth is absolutely out of this world. If you’re up for some work, try the beef hot plate spring roll appetizer. You grill the meat right at the table and roll your spring rolls yourself. Staff is friendly and willing to teach the uninitiated. Feeling adventurous? Try the So Da Hot Ga, a sweet beverage composed of condensed milk, egg yolk and club soda. The result is not unlike a rich, creamy italian soda

PUREEATINGENJOYMENT Our second rendezvous with Rice B. and her significant other. This time Yu-go and I did all the ordering. Hoa Hong Nine Roses is really more Vietnamese cuisine with a few Chinese influenced entrees… like fried rice and wonton soup. Can’t say enough about authenticity of all the entrees and two appetizers. I’ll let Yu-go’s photos fullfill the compilation review and persuasion of how good it was to dine here.

This continues to be my happy place and where I seek the comfort food of my motherland. I’ve explored more of their extensive menu so I thought I’d list my favorites: — Vietnamese Crêpe: good size to share as an app or for a small individual meal — Chicken salad(goi ga): my fiancé’s favorite. We ALWAYS order this. He’s obsessed.(*hint* you get a wayyyy larger portion when you order dining in vs carry-out). If you’re calorie conscious, this is your go-to. — Hot and sour soup(canh chua) and House special hot pot(lau) — Fish or pork in clay pot: same flavor, different meat — both awesome — Grilled pork or beef rice plates: best bang for your buck meal — As mentioned in the previous review: phở and bun bo hue on a cold, rainy day will hit the spot I can’t remember where it is on their menu, but the cook your own beef and make your own spring rolls is totes amaze. You will not be disappointed. A little overwhelming if you’ve never done it before, but your server can walk you through it. It’s a great interactive dinner activity. I’ve never ordered a vermicelli bowl again since there are just so many other choices to love here so I can’t say if they’ve improved in size and flavor. My fiancé(who’s Chinese) thinks their Mongolian beef is not true to the food of his people BUT it’s good for what it is(more like a medley of veggies + beef). I’ve shared all my wisdom — now go eat, love and be merry.

Day dreaming of duck soup. Seriously, you must get the duck leg soup. I’m addicted. Its like Ramen, which is impossible to find in NOLA but I’ve been craving it(thanks to Bootys). I asked the waiter for a soup like Ramen, he recommended this soup and it is indeed like ramen. Rich broth, egg noodles, and some mushrooms with a huge duck leg that has meat falling off the bone.
