Hastings Floor Covering

We’ve been using Hastings for years. The quality of the products is on a completely different level than what you’d find at big box stores like Home Depot, so for folks to be comparing prices to places like that doesn’t make sense. For example, we purchased Teragen bamboo flooring, which was considerably more expensive than what I was seeing at Lumber Liquidators, but my mother in law, who went with the far less expensive Lumber Liquidators product is now tearing her floor up because it’s been bubbling up and the finish is peeling off. Ours is beautiful and we have lots of traffic on it, so as the saying goes — you get what you pay for! This is a family owned business and their customer service has been great, in our experience. When I go to Home Depot, I am lucky to find a person to talk to, let alone someone who will spend as much time as I need to look at different flooring and explain the differences. The staff have great design-​sense and take time to work with you to make selections based on your tastes. They have stayed past closing with me before and I have never felt rushed.

I needed flooring for over 1000 Sq Ft in my basement so I dropped in to pick out some tile. The salesperson Christine showed me a few samples and was going to do some research for me on other tile options and said she would call me back within a couple of days. When she didn’t call me back after a week I purchased the tile from another shop right up the street, they came out and measured and everything went really well.
As a courtesy, I called the owner/​manager at Hastings to let him know that his staff dropped the ball. Then less than an hour later Christine called me and was very angry. She began by lecturing me on how unprofessional I was by calling the owner and for not calling her first !

Unhappy with this locations customer service. Spent over $ 800 in tile. I provided them the square footage and they doubled the small tile. They provided me 50% credit even though they made the mistake. They also gave me too much grout. I purchased two bags. Only used ¾ of one bag and refused to credit. We wanted to support a local establishment. Won’t do it again. Also my suggestion to the owner buy a computer system. The part of your problem. Hand scratch order forms create mistakes. Go somewhere else is my recommendation.

Hastings did a terrific job installing new hardwood flooring throughout our main living area. Sure, we could have got a cheaper floor from Home Depot, but you get what you pay for. The quality offered at the big box stores is definitely NOT the same as what you will get from here. Sure Hastings has the cheap stuff too, but that’s not what we were looking for. I would use again, and recommend to anyone looking for a local flooring installer that takes pride in their work, The salesperson was very friendly and knowledgeable, and the installers were all very clean and professional and did an excellent job.

I thought this place was a great idea until I decided to research there prices. Hastings was doubling the price of materials. Thank goodness I called home depot before I made my order. They were charging 60 dollars for a box of commercial vct when I can purchase the SAME tile at home depot for 33 dollars. Ridiculous!
