Went there today for lunch. I love the location and the interior is quite comfortable. The salads are fresh and tasty, this pizza is quite good, and the service if friendly and courteous. What more could one want?!

Took the girlfriend here on a quiet Sunday afternoon, we were especially hungry on this day after going on a long fishing excursion. I’ve come maybe once or twice before to this location, in the last year or so, with a small group of friends and the food was nothing to rave about, but we decided to give it a try. Upon entering we were greeted by a waitress and a manager I assume, both friendly but visible bored. There were no customers, so I can understand why. They recommended us to try a mozzarella cheese appetizer with basil and olive oil which sounded good as I’m quite fond of fresh mozzarella. The waitress began to read the specials, or attempted to. Keep in mind we weren’t yet seated and she’s looking on the menu trying to find and inform us of the dishes. obviously not well versed in pushing the specials, but that’s okay, just a bit irritating that we stood there like we were waiting in line as she looked the menu over almost for the first time. We were eventually seated but even before we sat down, we could see the plates that were already on the table as appetizer plates had sand, or dirt or dust on them… Like visibly, like really obviously there, and the waitress just took our order of two waters and headed back to the kitchen, never even batting an eye to the plates. Needless to say, at the point we were a bit quizzical. She eventually came back with two waters, one of which had(you know that dirt/hair/dust bunnies that accumulates in an air conditioner after a period of not being cleaned? Yeah that) needless to say we were shocked, and it wasn’t like a small bit, it was a big chunk! I brought the drink to the front and asked for a clean glass, and she brought two mason jar mugs full of water. At this point we both shaking our heads as we were deciding what to order when I got a call on my phone of an urgent nature, so we had to quickly leave. so we didn’t even get a chance to have lunch. But to be honest you might call that«saved by the bell». If basic things like keeping clean dishes and pouring fresh water and looking for dirt can’t be mastered, then frankly I don’t know if I’d be willing to stick around for a bite. In my honest opinion, it’s one of those clique Italian restaurants that are common to the shoreline but with a nice view of the Guilford green. Don’t expect anything better than okay.

Maybe I caught an off day, but this was by far one of the most irritating dining experiences I have had in a long time. I took my sister in for a late lunch about a week ago. To start off, we waited at the door to be seated without any acknowledgement for about ten minutes. The restaurant was not full, and the waitress walked by several times without even saying hello. When the manager finally came to the door to seat people, he looked RIGHTPASTUS and began speaking to the older gentleman behind us, who nicely informed him that we were ahead of him. After being seated, another fifteen minutes passed without the waitress coming over– again, passed by several times completely ignoring us, however was especially attentive to a table sat next to us, AFTER us, of which I’m assuming are regular customers because she had plenty of time to take their full order immediately. When she finally did come over, no greeting or apology for the wait, she plainly barked did you order yet? So finally we order, an appetizer and a pizza. The app arrived pretty quickly, however we couldn’t eat it because as long as we had been waiting we still didn’t even have silverware. The appetizer(fried mozzarella) was good, the chicken parm pizza was OK, chicken was kind of tough in a stale way. By the point the restaurant had pretty much cleared out but the waitress was busy walking around eating so again, more waiting when it came time to leave. I was so frustrated I didn’t even want to stay any longer to bother complaining. Being in the service industry myself I gave the waitress the benefit of the doubt of having an off day and still left her an undeserved 20%, but I most likely will never return here again.

Went here the other night for the first time! I was really excited because I live in guilford and have never been here before! My party got five different kinds of pizza, and also two different types of salad. The salad was really good, and I think they make their own dressings which I really appriciate. All of the pizza we had was delicious! The special pie with eggplant and ricotta and spinach with a white sauce was amazing! The margarita pizza was also another favorite. Although the chicken parm pizza I thought was pretty bland and nothing special, I can over look that. I didn’t try any entrees from the menu, so this review is based solely on their salads and pizza. So overall my experience here was very inviting and delicious and I will deffinetly be coming back to Centro Pizza again soon!

I LOVED this pizza the 1 time I had it(takeout). Got the fresh tomato when I was sitting 2 teens who frequent the pizza place. My family normally orders from Nuzzos, which bores me. Centro hit it out of the park for me. Crispy thin crust without being burnt, you could taste the quality olive oil and other fresh ingredients. Can’t wait to go back!

Ate here TWICE on a family vacation to Branford; we went back again because the food was so good we had to share it with our local relatives. Great pizza, great rollatini(eggplant rolled around ricotta as an app but big enough to be an entrée), great home made soup, great salads, great burgers, prompt service… what’s not to like? We left with left-overs that we actually ate the next day, a rare event for us. An added plus is the town of Guilford. Very charming and some very nice boutiques with local artists showcasing their work. We look forward to returning and hope the locals will champion this restaurant; we loved it.(We live on the west coast where great pizza is a rare find).

Stumbled into this place off of 95 with my husband on our way home from CC. We wanted something to eat other than the usual fast food fare from rest stops along the highway. Our decision was dependent really on my desperate need to use the bathroom, and we were immediately greeted(maybe even startled) by the manager or owner Ralph who seated us and was super friendly. We talked a lot of football with him since he put us in the side of the restaurant with the TVs. Our server was very quick with ordering. My husband ordered the Stone IPA, but Ralph expressed that it wasn’t cold(upon checking) and instead he got the house cab. We ordered the house salad which was quite large and generous for two people. We then had the 14″ house mozz pizza and it was just enough for two people to share. Right before our pizza came out, Ralph came out with the Stone IPA, chilled and poured it into a glass for my husband and said it was on the house! He said he felt bad that it wasn’t cold and that it wasn’t right that it was on the menu and he couldn’t offer it. Our bill was very reasonable. Right in downtown and not even a 5 minute drive from 95, next to all these great little shops that we explored before getting back into the car. Hopefully we will visit again in the future!

Centro Pizza. Guilford. If I could give it 6 stars I would. I have had their pizza, pasta, parmigiana, florentine and foxon park white birch. Everything is great. But what’s better is the staff. The manager Ralph is awesome. He’s a big mets fan. He told us that if there is anything we want that’s not on the menu we can ask for it and they can make it… providing they have ingredients. My mother wanted spaghetti and meat sauce… not on the menu, but viola, she got it and it was delish. I’ve been going there for a while now and I don’t think anything will keep me away. I would recommend Centro Pizza to anyone I know. Yum!

Definitely on the kid frIendly side of things. Pizza, pasta, chicken dishes, and salads are all decent and priced well. We go there frequently after activities when cooking is out of the question. I’d say the food is above average, the service tends to be ok, and the prices are fine. The wine list is a bit thin, but it’s more a family place than a place you need a babysitter for…

Towards the upper end of the ladder in terms of pizza quality for the area. Not as good as Red Tomato, but better than, say, Nick and Tony’s(which is pretty good). A class above Boss(not saying much). The main issue I have with this place is this: with so few good restaurants in town, especially around the Green, THIS is what we get? A pizzeria? Granted, it’s a full sit-down place, with beer and wine, but still! There were already 6 places to get pizza in town, plus 2 more just across town lines(Slice in Branford, Red Tomato in Madison), it’s a huge disappointment. I guess that’s more of a damning review of our town economic development council than of Centro, which is fine as far as it goes, but nothing special.

We ordered take-out pizza and salad for Sunday night dinner since I didn’t feel like cooking. Reading some of the other reviews I truly did not know what to expect since some people were very happy about their experiences and many were not. We figured we’d give it a try since it’s the«new» place in town(not anymore, but new to us) and we’re glad we did! I placed an order for a large pizza with four toppings: half bacon and onion(my guy’s choice) and half sausage and spinach(my pick) and a house salad. I ordered around 4:30pm and it took about 20 to 30 minutes for them to prepare everything. I rolled in around 5pm to pick up our order and took a few minutes to observe the dining room scene. It is a casual family friendly environment as others have noted, full of booths and tables. It looked very clean and comfortable. They had decorated for the holidays and the strings of lights along the wall as well as a Christmas tree covered in white lights gave the place a very cozy feel and added to the relaxed ambience. We were both very pleased with the pizza. It isn’t quite thin crust or thick crust — somewhere in the middle but more thin than thick. The toppings were fantastic and and nicely cooked. Bacon was sufficiently crispy and the onions were cut thinly so they didn’t overwhelm the flavor profile. On the other half of our pie, the spinach was sauteed in garlic and olive oil, the sausage meaty and in large crumbles. Delicious. The salad was ok. A mixture of greens with halved cherry tomatoes, pitted olives, diced cucumber, and pickled red pepper(this was great), but the some of the greens tasted a little bitter and some of the greens tasted a little soapy. Not cilantro soapy, but soap soapy. Also, maybe a run through a salad spinner would have helped as it was pretty watery, too. Balsamic vinegar came with the salad and it was good. Creamy Italian is also an option for salad dressing if you’re wondering. When I was in I noticed Coke and Diet Coke in glass bottles. This made me very happy as there is nothing better than a cold Coca-Cola out of a glass bottle(tastes better than fountain, can, or plastic bottle). Connecticut-made Foxon Park soda as well as a host of other beverages are also available for purchase in the refrigerator case by the register. The website can take a little searching to find as it doesn’t come up right away on a quick Google search, but here it is: so you can review the menu before going in or placing an order for takeout. They have a variety of specialty pies and other things as well! Check out the Mashed Potato and Bacon pizza(Bar inspired, I’m guessing…) or the White Clam and Bacon, or the Shrimp Pesto. Mmm… We’ll be back for the pizza and the Cokes!

The place was PACKED when we arrived. A lot of townies, I recognized just about everyone from the coffee shop I work at down the street. Probably because everyone wants to check it out, food was good, not great. We ordered salads and a mashed potato and bacon pizza because it sounded different and yummy. The crust was really hard and tough… I loooove thin crust pizza, and this was thin crust, but too difficult to eat. It was really loud and it took about 50 minutes for our one small pizza to arrive to our table. Quite a while to wait when you’re starving. Our waitress was really polite and friendly, but she didn’t come back to check on us at all, and we had to ask a different person for our check because she forgot to bring it. It’s a new place, so I’m assuming they will improve over time. Will go back in hopes of that and because it’s convenient. EH.

Brand new, beautiful view of the Green and the food was such a disappointment. It was very noisy with several crying infants, and not enough wait staff. Everyone seemed disorganized. Perhaps they need more time to get their act together. No one at our table wanted to drink Foxon sodas, and there was no Coke or Pepsi or fresh brewed iced tea. I applaud using local suppliers, it’s important. However, Foxon soda, particularly the diet ones have an unfortunate and unpleasant artificial after taste.
Now the food, all the dishes were drowning in too much tomato sauce, it was impossible to taste any textures of vegetables, eggplant or chicken. The food was also very very salty. We actually expected to see a more original menu for a restaurant on the Green. The local pizzerias on the Post Road offer better fare and for less money. I hope they rethink the menu and add a few salads for adults with discerning taste and entrees to add to the typical pizzeria fare.

We went to Centros to check out the new place in town. From the street it looks a little ordinary, but it was better than I expected. Perhaps more of a pizza joint for families and teens to hang out. I like the booths, it made the experience a bit more cozy. I ordered the eggplant parm, without cheese. Usually this can be a tricky request, but they did it very well. I wish I had taken a picture, it was huge! and yummy:) It came with a side salad and pasta. And I believe it was $ 12 or less. My boyfriend had a margarita pie, and he enjoyed it. Although nothing amazing. He had previously ordered a bacon pizza to-go, and thought it was too salty. Our wine selection was red or white. Need I say more? I think I’d rather have byob than a poor wine selection. When looking for pizza and italian food around the Guilford Green, I think this would be a good option.

Similar to the other reviews posted of this new pizza joint, i too thought this nothing but average. Location is excellent, right on the guilford green! service was shotty. Im a sucker for artichokes on pizza, so i went with the artichoke and panchetta pizza. Crust was slightly tough. Fried raviolis for an app were decent. As this is a new restaurant I will return in hopes of improvements. I see huge potential :)

Oh noooooes, another new pizza joint. The pizza is about average for the New Haven area. It’s probably above par for New York pizza. It’s good except for two things: — Crust is really tough. It’s not burnt, but has the texture of almost being stale — Cheese congealed way too quickly. Where’d the stringy gooey cheese go? The inside of Centro Pizza is really loud, busy, and family friendly. Maybe i’m a kid at heart but I like the booths. I don’t think any of the other nearby restaurants have them. Centro Pizza’s menu is nothing fancy and contains other non-pizza items such as pasta, soups, and salads. A couple of years ago Whitfield’s and the Thai restaurant were the only restaurants on the Guilford green. Ballou’s and Ranchero’s eventually came along and now Centro’s joins the bunch. It’s nice to see the center of Guilford buzzing with activity after 5PM. It’s no longer the ghost town it used to be after the sun goes down.
