Look peepil! It’s a go cart track. And it is a heavily used one because this is a tourist stop and the lines are long at times and it ain’t cheap to ride the goldurned go carts. Ya know why? Go carts need to be maintained because they are gas powered machines like lawn mowers, cars, trucks and motorcycles and they don’t run on magical elf farts for fuel soooo SHADDAPP and quit yer bitchin’! And the folks that work here also need to get paid and they have to make sure that the cool retro wooden track affectionately known as ‘Woody” that twists and turns is safe so that lines and lines of knuckleheads can zoom up and down and all over! (They also have arcade games, rides for younger kids, miniature golf, clean restrooms and plenty of good parking. Also a crane type bungee cord ride if you want to wet your pants.)
But what is hilarious is seeing a 200 pound plus madman trying to pour his big assed and long legged self into one of these little gas powered go carts for a race against his teenage son who has been trash talking him for the entire trip that he was «going to kick my ass all over that track». Well? This is about honor and bragging rights. For some reason my boy is VERY competitive and I have NO IDEA where the heck he gets that! ;-) But either way. this race was on and I DID win the first race because I made sure to get the go cart in front of him and not let him pass me. (That was the ONLY way I could win of course as this little gas engine cart was struggling to haul my over sized self up this track to the top. And NO! I am NOT fat! So stop snickering if you are reading this because I know how your sick, twisted mind works! Oh! And you can bet my boy was saying that I was «cheating» because I got the first go cart. I invoked the «Experienced Driver Last Year Winner Starting Position Initiative». He was madder than a hornet too!
OK and now the truth in race #2 my boy smoked me badly because the sneaky little devil switched cars in another lane! The audacity of this kid! But here is the cool part regarding go carts in terms of driving and teaching a young male how to handle a machine even on a smaller scale. He learned to be aware of who was driving around him, how to stick to the inside turns because the distance was shorter. He even got to have the experience of feeling some G-​force pressure on a fast hard turn and not to loose concentration because of the sensation of feeling like he was going to skid. Trust the machine. Trust the seat belt will hold you in through the turn. Feel the machine. Become one with the go cart young racer! There is no separation between you and the steering wheel and the tires and the road. It’s a gas fume infused Zen thing. If I gotta explain it further then you wouldn’t understand. NOTE: If I had a baby girl rather than a boy I would teach her the SAME thing!
Ya see? Maybe there is more here than meets the eye at the olé’ go cart track! Wait. What just happened here? Did you forget for just a moment when you got behind the wheel how grumpy you wanted to be and just actually have some fun with the loud go cart engine noise all around you and the adrenaline rush of racing with your kid and seeing them smile? I think that is the general idea of this place. Try it. Kids don’t see the flaws of life that you might see. Or that «it is too expensive» or «your stupid coupon deal confused you» or whatever. Lighten the hell up!
Sometimes going to a place you have been over the years can be both fun as well as sad. And if you are a parent and you take your own kids to such places as this what strikes you the most is the blurry passage of time. It won’t be long before your own kids will outgrow this place and no longer have an interest to go here. …and next thing you know they are nearly grown and ready to move on with their own lives. That’s how fast it goes. It seems like just yesterday my boy was just a little guy too short to drive his own go cart and driving with olé’ dad. Take a bit of advice from your Unilocal buddy, Madman. Stop. Reflect. Enjoy the moment and smell the gas engine fume go cart track roses. The years do seem to go by quicker than two laps at a go cart track and it seems to go faster than the blink of an eye.
What?! Hell no I ain’t tearing up! I got something in my eye! Prolly some dirt from the track. Shut the hell up or I will knock your ass out or die tryin’!! PFFT! Anyways… it’s your time at the track with your kid. You only get so many chances at taking track laps at full speed and the memories you get are the ones you create. It’s up to you on how you want to drive it. And how you will remember it. Or more important how your kids will remember it too. Ya see? It really ain’t that expensive after all.

They have «Buy 2 points, Get 1 Point Free» coupons everywhere around Golf Shores.
What they don’t tell you is that the coupon is ONLY good on buying single points at $ 0.93 each. The coupon did NOT say this.
They don’t tell you that you get no extra points if you buy a points package, and their cashiers don’t tell you that the coupon doesn’t apply when you’re standing there buying a package.
They just let you buy the package, and let you think you’re getting 50% more points for free, then you leave and later figure out you didn’t get any free points from the coupon at all…
Bad advertising. Misleading. Lacking integrity.
After I figured this out, I went back to the cashier stand and did see written on their pricing board that «coupons do not apply to packages».
But the coupon should say this, and the cashier should tell you this — especially since it would have been a little cheaper if I bought single points and got the extra points with the coupon…
Otherwise, The Track was actually a fun place.
Lines can be a little long, but what do you expect in Golfshores during high tourist season???
The kids loved the giant swing, and I thought it was fairly priced at $ 20 per person. They also enjoyed the go carts — there are three or four different tracks for different sized kids.
All in all, we had fun, but their misleading advertising left a bad taste in my mouth…

Great spot for my kids! They had a great time and we did not brake the bank! Just make sure u go before 11 am. U get double points!

Being a local and year around resident I try to avoid the track like the plague. We went to a birthday party this weekend and again it was a horrible visit. My one year was too small to ride rides in kid zone and my 9yr old was told she was too big to ride kiddie rides. That really upset my 9yr old. I understand the staff is both young teenagers and in the heat all day but they were so rude and unapologetic. They have no interaction with the small kids that were able to ride the rides. And I didn’t see one staff member smile. Not a one! They are representing both the company they work for and gulf shores. Tourist don’t want rude attendants. If they trained their staff better I might go just to go. But until then I’m trying to orange beach to go to Adventure Island. Friendlier staff and better arcade!

Great fun! Family of 4 did 3 go cart tracks, bumper boats and putt putt golf for $ 100. Only complaint is the staff could be better trained and more courteous. Oe one go cart track, we were the last out but the first forced in. So, we got one less go round than the people in front. I chalk this up to inadequate training by management. Great spot to bring the kids for some fun. Go carts were new and well maintained looking. Tracks are fun. They weren’t to crazy about when you bumped a little so we had a good time!
Staff is typical teenagers at a place like this but we had no problems at all.
Arcade is decent. Like most these days it’s full of the win Tickets for junk machines and almost every game is $ 1 to play. Mini golf didn’t look like much but I have not tried it there.
Overall a clean fun place. Not cheap but worth it to have fun with the kiddos!

We went a few minutes prior to closing and the staff at the ticket booth was not friendly! My daughter rode the woody and the ride was very very short, I think it was because it was closing time. Im not saying I wouldn’t go back (my daughter had fun) but my first experience was not good!

Short rides and grumpy people in the ticket booths. I’d pass on this one if I were you.

Heads up– there’s more than one place to pay for rides and golf. Don’t be fooled by the long line by the mini golf. Go pay at the arcade, line is much shorter.

5−21−15 has multiple go cart tracks, different height requirements. Inside games costing tokens… rewarded with prizes. We played mini golf. Was fun, not enough places to sit, not all holes are lit up enough, but all in all a fun evening. The mini golf was very reasonably priced.

To pay for the golf, go carts, and other «rides» they use a very confusing point system, so be prepared to use math skills. We ended up having to get points refunded. The wooden go cart track was fun, but the putt putt golf lacks.

For last five years we always go to the track. It’s a must stop. Lots to do and the kids love it. However staff this season is rude and beware of coupons because they are not really great deals.

Alot of fun for the whole family. Video games, putput golf, gocarts, water rides and more. Crowed depends on season. They have an area to hold private parties and the staff is very friendly.

The Track is a Spring Break staple with multiple go kart tracks, a putt putt course, an arcade, some kiddy amusement park rides, bumper boats, and the skycoaster (think bungee jumping). I’ve been to this and the Destin location a number of times – mainly for the go karts – throughout the years.
The crowds vary depending upon the time of year, during Spring Break season and summer the lines can be long and you might have to wait several cycles to drive the go-​karts. During the off-​season, getting back-​to-​back rides in is a possibility, but some of the attractions will be closed).
In addition to some kiddie tracks (I’m not totally up on those, not my main focus), there is the Super Track (you have to be 16 to drive), the Main Track, and the Wooden Track. While the Wooden Track is the largest and most expensive, the Main Track actually is a little more complex and technical. The Wooden Track only has one left hand turn, but a lot more elevation changes. Coming down from the very top can be a little painful, depending on which car you get you can end up bouncing up and down quite a bit.
None of the tracks are so technical that you can’t just floor your gas the entire time. In fact, the biggest thing slowing you down might be other people on the tracks (especially gun-​shy kids). They aren’t terribly fast vehicles, but they are noisy and bumpy enough that you wouldn’t really want to go that much faster than they actually go. There is no reverse, so occasionally someone gets stuck. The employees were pretty vigilant and running over to cars who got T-​boned against the railing and the pulling them back in.
Their pricing scheme involves «points» costing anywhere from $.80-$.93, depending on how many you buy (more points, less $ per point; also save 10% by purchasing online). Each attraction requires a given number of points (i.e. 7 for the Main Track, 9 for the Woody Track), so if you have multiple kids you can end up spending over $ 100 pretty quickly. It’s a fun place to kill an afternoon.

This place lacks serious management and oversight! The website says it is open until 8:30pm so we planned our entire day around enjoying and evening at the track. When we arrived they decided they wanted to close three hours early. I asked to speak with a manager due to the fact that we were from out of town and my children were heart broken they could not play. The manager possessed ZERO management ability. He offered no excuse or option other than they will open tomorrow. Absolutely unacceptable!!! We will never be back and will be sure to pass this horrible experience onto others!

Went there today with the family. We were told 3 of the 4 go kart tracks were open. We bought enough «points» so we could each race on each of the open tracks. We got there around 1130 and apparently they had a private party later that afternoon and they had to shut down to the public.
We again confirmed 3 tracks were open and that the whole park would be open until 2pm.
We went out and lined up for the first race only to be told that only 2 of the tracks were open. The employees were less than friendly about it (they apparently couldn’t care less). We got nothing but attitude when we went back in to ask for a refund for the points we didn’t need because of the additional track closure.
Additionally, instead of closing at 2 like they said, they started locking down the place at 1pm. The kids (And whole family) were really upset that it was such a run down waste of time and money.
The go karts on the tracks we did drive on were old and didn’t run well. I would advise that you avoid this place at all costs.

The best day for kids 8 and under and parents!
Go before noon and get all the points and half price. They have to be used up by 4pm and purchased before noon. Great deal and lots of fun

This has been fun since I first experienced it in 2004. Such enthusiastic and serious track boys which make me lol quite often (boy on the woody track whispering «you’re lucky» as he unstuck my little sister after she was reamed into the side tires atop a high hill). Everyone (but me) enjoyed the 10 story high swing thing and I know it’s safe enough (it’s been around forever), but I just feel that it is a horrific accident waiting to happen right in between tons of tracks and a large building — not to mention the highway…

This is such a fun place. You could easily kill a few hours here playing mini golf and using the go karts. The go kart track is huge and wooden. I had never seen anything like it before. I was actually a little nervous to be honest. It hasn’t ever looked very crowded to me but I always go off season.

Loved it! Had plenty to do for our 16,13,and 5 year old. Went early in the morning while everyone else was at the beach. Not crowdd at all. My wife bought like 200 tickets online so we never ran out. The older kids rode go carts forever and the 5 year old had plenty to do.
Overall a great time.,
