Walked in to get my cousins breakfast burritos and the guy looked like he was hating life and didn’t wanna be there. I looked at the prices for the burritos and was blown away on how expensive they were, I can’t believe I paid $ 20 for 2 burritos FML!!! They should reconsider their prices just a lil…

Best breakfast burritos in town! A little pricey, but definitely worth it. I get the burrito with sausage, egg, cheese, and hash browns… it’s delishhhh!

I grew up in hacienda heights and moved away years ago. However I recall my younger days and how good the food was in this whole in wall. I returned to try the food thus weekend. Wow what a change. This food was horrible!!! The carnitas were like licking a salt block, I attempt to give it to others at my table but one taste and would not eat it either. The beans just didn’t taste right??? Old from a can? I don’t know but it wasn’t good. I gave it a rating of 2 stars because the green chili was good but depending on you order the chili verde can consist of chunks if fat. Not the whole in the wall with reasonable priced food anymore. If your going to charge $ 7-$ 11 bucks for a burrito, make sure it’s good with good quality. I will remember the fond memories if my youth and when casa de tacos was good. I will not be returning…

I still haven’t found the great taco of the La Puente Valley. This place looked promising when I walked in and saw Abuelita working the counter. Alas, the food ended up being just OK. The quest continues.

This is a great local place for food. If you live in the neighborhood, this is a convenient place for a satisfying meal. But I would not send anybody over here from another town, just to try the food. The place is family owned, so sometimes the service is excellent, other times the kids are working the counter and then the service becomes impersonal. The place is very clean and looks like it has all new furniture. It’s hard to believe this was once a KFC. I have tried several different burritos and several different tacos. The taquitos remind me of something that might come from the frozen aisle at the supermarket. And the green avocado flavored sauce you get reminds me of a school cafeteria. But the hard tacos were much better. The shells were perfectly crispy, the lettuce and tomatoes were fresh, and the meat was seasoned well.

Can’t say for sure they use Lard as deep fat frying oil but somehow their fries and chips always come out tasting amazing. I used to order their super nachos all the time /w carne asada. The thing was loaded and it was packed with meat, cheese, and beans. their fried tacos are really oil and pretty good too if you’re not looking for something healthy.

Good local place! Family run. A lot of it looks homemade, not pre-packed. Just a tad pricey. They make a GREAT made to order, quacamole. A must try. Where it shines is the service, the middle aged lady that usually is at the counter treats you like she’s known you forever.

I just dropped almost 9 bucks on a carnitas burrito and a medium pepsi. Strike one. The salsas really suck. No flavor on either the red or green. Strike two. The burrito was BLAND. I could have been eating cardboard and I wouldn’t have tasted the difference. Strike three your out! Tsk tsk. Talk about false advertisment. On a bright note the grandma there is adorable!

Casa de Tacos«REALMEXICANFOOD» ??? *WARNING…CASHONLY… I know we all have different likes and dislikes when it comes to food, and since I’m out of my neighborhood I checked a few of the posted Rave 4&5 Star reviews of this place and decided to check it out! * 5 — CLUES to BADMEXICAN food… WOW…what the HELL is wrong with you people, don’t you know what REALMEXICAN food is suppose to taste like? Now this little unit in a strip shopping center has about 3 tables and as I was the only one eating in, most seem to order to go and it had a pretty steady business while I was there. I will start by saying the Younger Lady who took my order with a Smile was very friendly, that’s nice to see now days especially in a establishment like this one, but… this was my highlight of the evening. Soft Tacos $ 2.19 or with cheese $ 2.49, OK I’ll take w/cheese 2– Carne Asada, 1– Al Pastor, they wrap them up in foil even though you dine in, *Clue # 1… they give you RED&GREEN salsa in a squeeze bottle like Ketchup, so I squeeze some GREEN on a spoon, YUCK! now do the same with RED, not very good either just OK, I can start to tell this place like many is set up for the GABACHOS! So I unwrap and Hmmmm ok this must be Asada?. regular size tortilla but small portion of meat and unfortunately I did not have a magnifying glass with me so I was unable to find the CHEESE that they charge an extra .30 cents for. Clue # 2… the ASADA was very light in color and almost gray(like when you boil beef). Clue # 3… not sure how they cook it but it had absolutely had«NO» COLOR or FLAVOR… I can’t believe places can get away with selling crap like this! Now the Al Pastor… it was cut in to cubes and was«ALMOST» as hard as little rocks, Clue # 4… DRY and NOFLAVOR of Pastor! This place is a JOKE! how can they call it «Real Mexican Food»??? I have had BETTER«TACOS de PERRO» in Mexico… Clue # 5, Now before I was done the nice lady went home because it was near closing, so I did not want to go off on the«ABUELA» at the grill, so I bit mu tongue and left very dissatisfied! NOW…as I started off by saying we all have different likes and dislikes when it comes to food, but… I take my MEXICANFOOD seriously!, Those who gave this place«Raving 4&5 Star reviews are CLUELESS… as to what«REALMEXICANFOOD» is suppose to taste like, and«I HEARBYREVOKEYOUR UnilocalINGPRIVILEGES» IF you can’t even cook the BASICS like Carne ASADA correctly, hang it up!

We were on Hacienda Blvd trying to get on the 60, only to find the ramp was closed. ME want taco. That’s what my gut was telling my brain. Or something like that. I watched a «FAT what nobody is telling you» PBS documentary and they said something about sensors in your organs that send signals to your brains that tell you you’re hungry. So it’s not my fault that I want to eat. It’s not gluttony or because I’m a fatty that wants tacos. I blurted out what my stomach was saying«I want taco». And we turned into the next plaza to this hole in the wall to calm the beast. The lady at the register was super nice and we ordered a chorizo taco, a carnitas taco, and a carne asada burrito. As soon as we ordered, the abuela behind the counter started tinkering away on the grill and making them burrito and tacos. The chorizo taco was a little different from what I have experienced in the past, but it was still very delicious. Don’t skimp out on the green sauce. It is good. The carnitas taco stole the show. Don’t skimp out on the red sauce either. I didn’t order the burrito, but that didn’t stop me from eating some, as usual. The taste was a little different and I probably wouldn’t order that anyway. Place is great for a quick taco fix. Service is good too. A good amount of traffic flowed in and out while we ate inside. There are around 3 small tables.

Been coming here since I was 15… which was more than 2 decades ago. Still, I’ve pretty much stuck to one of two things on the menu: the chile verde burrito(depending on the mood, I get either w/beans or w/o) or the nachos(again, depending on the mood, I get either w/carnitas or w/o). The chile verde burrito’s unlike any I’ve had elsewhere. The green chile«sauce» is the consistency of baby food – thick with onions, cilantro and green onions that’ve obviously cooked for a good long time. If you get the all-meat burrito, they just throw in some additional chunks of pork and roll it up. If you want it w/beans, they’ll add that, too, but I like it w/the undiluted chile flavor. The nachos… well, I’ve had better, but these bring back memories, so if I’m feeling the need for heart-stopping food, I’ll have them. Refried beans, tons of cheese melted on top of thick, homemade tortilla chips, then«guacamole» that’s kind of like the stuff they put on taquitos in the high school cafeteria, and salsa that may be a little off-color, but isn’t bad. Pile on a bunch of carnitas and you’ve got a meal! As another reviewer mentioned, it’s run by a REALLY nice older couple(though they’re not the original owners. They took over about 3 – 4 years ago). They’re open until 9 every night, though I’ve noticed that, if it’s a little slow, they’ll close a bit early.

this place is good enough to get the job done. i agree with some of the other posts that the hard shell tacos(aka deef fried beef tacos) are grub here. i do sometimes order a ½ carnitas and ½ green chile burrito and it’s yum yum yum. if you need a quick mexican fix, this place isn’t bad.

I give this place a 3.5 stars. I’ve lived in the area for years and never thought of coming here. The place is a little hole in the wall with 3 tables. It’s run by a old couple who were quite nice. I ordered the all meat Carne Asada Burrito($ 5.99). The meat was tender and flavorful. I wish the meat was a little leaner. The best places serve leaner better quality meat. They put in a little too much celantro and onions, but I didnt really mind. They give you your own green and red sauce which was awesome. I hate it when they give you a little tiny container thats hardly ever enough salsa. The green sauce was the best. The red was not hot at all. They serve breakfast too and I noticed that they have a loyal clientele. People walking in were obviously regulars. I would definitely go back.
