Place was in a strip mall, which made me raise the eyebrow, but the delicate mousse and cake made up for the ambiance. Still, I have to say that the prices were astronomical. Would I go back? Just with my special lady friend on a special night out.

Was really good before they closed down for good in March 2013! Loved coming here for their lattes and cakes! They still have a location in Arcadia!

I was looking for a different twist in the typical Asian fruit cakes that you normally would find at Diamond Bakery or JJ’s. RJ’s offers exactly that as it’s more American/French with a little Asian twist to it. I picked up a blueberry cake for my mom’s birthday. At $ 40 for a 8×8×3 cake size, it was sweet, delicious and well made. The bottom pie crust that they used put a variety into it. The blueberry flavor was not artificial. It was fresh, and so was the cake that was used which was not dry at all. My family enjoyed it with their tea. I’d recommend giving RJ’s a try. They have a lot to offer.

= CAKESYOUCANCOUNTON = RJPATISSERIE is a bakery that I can count on if I am looking for a cake for a special occasion. It might be more expensive than your traditional cakes you might pick up at the supermarket, but I personally think it is worth every penny because the quality is so much better here. Most importantly, their cakes are nicely decorated and just adds to the overall presentation. They also sell breads at baked goods at this location, but I wouldn’t come to this bakery(unless I have to get a cake) because the parking situation is horrible at this plaza.

the only thing ive tried is their black forest cake. one of my relatives brought it for my aunt’s bday and this is a peek of whats inside the cake( ). i think it cost almost $ 40 for the whole cake, but its definitely NOT worth the price. the cake was so dry, stale and doesnt taste good at all. the only thing i like was the rum taste inside the cake, the rest was just meehhh. even some of the fruits, they put on top of the cake went bad already. some parts of the strawberries were molded already and it looked nasty. for the price, i’d expect something more other than nice presentation. conclusion: disappointing black forest cake!!!

I only buy two things here– both of them blueberry. When they are out, I just head up the road a bit for pineapple buns. The cakes look really pretty, but they seem overpriced. Their selection of buns is pretty limited, and with so many other options in the area with better selections and at more reasonable prices, generally I don’t bother. Unless of course they have blueberry goodness. Then I’m all over it.

Ok, wow did this place switch to cheaper ingredients!!! I used to love this place a few years back. They had the cutest and best tasting cakes. I recently ordered a green tea mousse and it tastes like crap. What is going on??? For the price they charge, should the cakes taste better?

Tiramisu tasted okay but seem pricey for what it is. Gotta admit, they offer pretty darn good boba tea drinks.

What happened to this place?!): Used to be AMAZING. This is when I first fell in love with the pyramid cake with the alchy filling: P This time, we got three large coffees and an egg tart. Everything was HORRIBLE. Was informed by my Aunt that the owners changed but that they still have a divine tiramisu. Until then, RJ, you only get one star :(

I get my cakes here for my mom because they do fancy stuff to their cake and the prices are reasonable for the type. My mom loves mango and they have mango cake here. I got a heart shape mango cake for $ 38 and she loved it. It had fruit on it and chocolate. I used to think this place was JJ bakery and I thought Oh I always bought my cake from JJ… I don’t know what happened but I noticed… this is RJ. My beau got the gift certificate here — when I told him not to! — Cuz you get $ 10 back for $ 100. Not really worth it but the lady kinda pushed him to buy it and he’s not very good at saying no. So I didn’t think that was cool for her to push him to buy it. Pastries — pretty good. I love the hot dog bun. Credit card for only $ 10+. Parking: Lot free Next to 99 Ranch

this bakery is just a few stores from earthen!!! =) so… of course. stopping by was in order. it’s so clean in there and everything is so well organized. i got the pineapple bun(my favorite) — and wow that was the softest pineapple bun i’ve ever had and it wasn’t too sweet either! just perfect. =) didn’t even feel heavy(could be bad or good). it was $ 1.35 for each. i’ve read that this place has bad customer service. but my experience was quite different. service was excellent. the only downside was a lot of their baked goods were already sold out … i guess they aren’t replenished as quickly as 85C. =P haven’t tried any of their cakes yet… but i usually do not buy eat pretty cakes from these kinds of bakeries. they also sell boba milk tea. but we already got some and r.j. was selling it at a higher price($ 2.99) than café 18.

My friend and I wandered here after lunch. The lady behind the counter was very friendly and asked if we’d like to try one of their cakes. We said sure, and she presented each of us a full piece of tiramisu! Wow, we thought, what did we do? What I thought about the tiramisu: + Good base flavor + Delicate textures + Artful presentation + Fine ingredients — Slightly strong alcohol taste(wine) — Petite — Pricey Note: Their cakes are generally smaller and pricier than the average Asian-American-bakery-cake because they use higher end ingredients.

OVERPRICED! i got a MINI slice of their coffee butter cream layer cake and it was 4 bucks! the cake itself wasn’t bad but i think there’s just too much butter in between the layers because the cream was more solid than creamy! the lady behind the counter was SUPER friendly and greeted us as soon as we walked in, but i dont know if that’s enough to bring me back! love how they have tables here so you can eat-in though! NOTE: it’s located in the 99 ranch market plaza across from puente hills mall

There cakes are really really pretty. Just check out the photos and you will see what I mean. As for taste, they taste alright, nothing too special. There cakes are not too sweet which is good, but they are pretty pricey. A cake on average is $ 40. If you are looking for something that is pretty and makes a great birthday photo this is your cake, but if you are just looking for a yummy cake, look else where. By the way, they are selling drinks and boxed lunch now. Not sure if they are good, but don’t expect too much.

Delicious pastries, slightly pricey.(courtesy of momma bear) Apparently this guy did a gig for Bill Clinton? Cool! I had the bubble tea here, and I asked for the price. They said $ 2. I got excited. When I got the receipt, they charged me for the tea and then the bubbles. They try to be tricky. They piss me off. Why tell me one price and tack on extra, when you could avoid that altogether and be honest? SHAMEONYOU. But at least they printed a receipt(though vaguely written). If not, I would have sent IRS to bust you guys so fast.

I ordered the fruit tart. The fruits on top were fresh. It had half a strawberry, a piece of kiwi, a small bunch of mini grapes and thin slices of ‘hilaw’ mango. Underneath the fruits was a crème brûlée like mixture and all of that was inside a hard crust. Nothing about it was sensational. *Jordan Shrug*

RJ Patisserie used to be king along with Diamond Bakery. i remember that they ruled chinese bakery land in the 90s. then other bakeries came out and made it just as good… and cheaper. so instead of cutting the price, RJ decided to make the cake smaller. it is not«da fong»(«generous» looking… in chinese). the thing that they have going for them is that it is easily accessible and in the Ranch99 plaza. if JJBakery(it’s not far from there) was in the same plaza, they would be out of business within a year. i actually prefer Nini Bakery on Hacienda Blvd. but i came here because i wanted to try their chinese bento boxes. it’s mediocre and kinda expensive when you think about all your asian café choices. don’t get me wrong their breads and pastries are good. i like the shaved ice that they serve also. but when i can find more than a couple places that are cheaper and better. well, that’s when it gets a 3-star rating from me. i’d rather support Nini Bakery. If they had shaved ice(or if Bin Bin Konjac was nearby, etc), i would have no reason to go to RJP. RJ? are you listening? doesn’t matter if you have a picture of president clinton in the store. you know that was in the 90s. change, improve, or pack up. sounds harsh but it’s just business.

NOPICTURESALLOWED! Customers Don’t come first. Ok, so this place is called a Patisserie. I am pretty sure that France still has statutes that require a Patisserier Certification to use this classification. So, what is a bakery if there is no customer service? What is a bakery if the customer doesn’t come first? I am only posting the bad on this one. 1. No pictures allowed. «What if I buy it?» Ok, then it is allowed. Whatevers. Why no pictures? Trade secrets? Every other bakery doesn’t mind. 2. Mocha was 5 bucks and watery. 3. Taro Smoothie was advertised at 1.99. But they only had large size which was 50 cents extra. Oh, and since it was taro it was an additional 50 cents. So, one taro smoothie and one Mocha came to 8 bucks. Say what? Overall the bakery was average. It was the fact that the prices were just randomly thrown out and there is no price board hanging anywhere. No pictures. well, when customers come first I will return. Until then Me thinks not.

I am not impressed, RJ. I had a cake from this bakery a few years ago, and I thought it was good. But. I recently went(I work close-by now) and I found their cakes and pastries overpriced. Quality of ingredients wasn’t in the least bit impressive. I guess if you’re comparing it to other Asian bakeries, yeah, it’s got the looks, but the taste? The texture? It’s whatevs. A macaron the size of a cow butthole was $ 3. Why cow butthole? Because the macaron just didn’t look appealing. Blown out cow butthole. BUT! I still bought shizz. Bag of cow buttholes for $ 15, a white chocolate mousse cake and a coffee mocha cake. Meh. Mediocre at best.
