We rented out the Douglas Beach House for our wedding in October, and it was just wonderful! Joy had recently been hired on as the event planner and in-house caterer, which made all the difference for us. Her food was spectacular and the guests raved about it. This is coming from someone who is picky about food and has rarely enjoyed wedding food. Not only was the food perfect, but Joy took on so much more than she had to to make my wedding feel just right. I wanted to save money by getting all of my flowers at a wholesale shop and buying cute vases at Ross. I was going to enlist family members to set them up, but she said not to worry and had one of her team members create beautiful little flower arrangements to go everywhere. She met with me several times to be sure she had a good idea of what I was envisioning. She then took as much stress off of me as possible and told me she would make it look great. I trusted her and just dropped off a bunch of stuff the night before that I wanted to include. Mixed with her own things, her team decorated, and it was absolutely beautiful. We were also able to drop off our independently purchased alcohol the night before which was a huge plus. I would highly recommend booking a live band, because the space is a concert venue and is set up so perfectly for it. We had about 100 people in the space, which was very tight, but it worked. I wouldn’t do too many more than that. Many thanks to Joy and to the Douglas Beach House!

Rating des Ortes: 5 Half Moon Bay, CA
Startled to see that this has not been« Unilocaled», this legendary spot is one of the best spots in the bay area to see live music. For starters, the music is always top shelf and the near as I can figure, the musicians love the vibe and put on a great show. Two full 1 hour sets, always. Enjoy the beach and the ocean before the show and during the break between sets. Very intimate, not a bad seat in the house. You can bring your own wine and not be pressured to buy food(Yes, you read that right) Even if you haven’t heard of the band, you can«trust Pete» to make sure it will be a great show.
