El Tamarindo Coal Fired Pizza

The service was excellent! It’s very chic and a hidden gem for sure. The meatball appetizer with fresh bread for starters were both really good. The only reason I’m not giving this place 5 stars is our pizza was really soggy so all the topping would fall off. Also the sauce was slightly on the sweet side. Other than that I’ll definitely be back and I’m hoping the pizza will be better next time. I highly recommend checking this place out.

The pizza was amazing. It’s a quant little small in Hallandale which was surprising. The restaurant itself is very chic, the décor is stunning and laid back. I had pizza and my fiancé ate chicken parmigiana, he loved it as well. The sauce has a sweet taste to it that isn’t completely overwhelming it’s more of a hint that makes you want more. I will come back more often

This restaurant was recommended by my dentist Dr. Alan Richter who’s office is a little walk next door to the strip mall where El Tamarindo is located. After getting my teeth cleaned, I headed there for lunch and was I amazed by the décor. The entrance where you see the coal fire oven had a nice, warm and fuzzy feel. The lunch specials during the weekday is $ 6.99 with salad. The proportions were small and just right. They served toasted bread with chimichurri sauce, my favorite garlic infused olive oil and parsley mix. I ordered the chicken francese and my husband got the fried porkchops and both of us had sweet plantains which was delicious and tastes really fresh. I had to go the next day again just to make sure all was still good. Tell you what, I annoy disappointed at all.

If I could give 0 stars I would. We arrived at 7:05 tonight, not crowded, seated immediately. Got menus, order a craft of sangria and our dinners. The awesome chicken parm for my husband, I ordered the filet mignon special. Sangria arrives and the wait begins. 20 minutes later a table of 4 is seated. Order food. Their food arrives and we still wait. At 7:45 food arrives, my filet is well done, ordered med. I send it back. 15 minutes no dinner, husband eating. Server is attending everyone but us, I hear him ask another server to check on my meal. I ask someone else to speak to a manager. 10 more minutes I get up to find the manager. I see our server, I ask him where is the manager. He tells me he getting my dinner from the kitchen to serve it to me. I said that was a while ago, to which he replied «you sent your dinner back» and they had to make another. Another 5 minutes the «manager“appears with my dinner, gives some bs that specials take longer to cook. A 5 oz piece of filet takes 7 minutes to cook not 25 minutes after already waiting an hour. Barely an apology and lots of arrogance. My husband has finished his dinner. I eat half I’m too arrgivated to enjoy it, we ask for the check. Server sends somebody else to drop it off. Didn’t take a thing off the bill, no apology! First time ever we didn’t leave a tip. We are locals and came here often and ordered delivery even more often. Not after tonight. You lost a customer for good! As we leave at 8:30 still not crowded, nowI know why. Worst service ever and what service we did get had a lot of attitude.

If you a new yorker and know good food, this place is not going to disapoint you! Exelent atmosphere, great décor, the staff is very friendly! Probably the only place so far where pizza is compatible with NY pizza!!! For me it was so convenient cause my husband loves Italian and I love Spanish cuisine, so we got margarita pie for start and for second course our friend got veil parm, my hubby got chicken parm and I got skirt steak!!! u can have spanish, Mexican or Italian under one roof, and quality is so far the best I have tried in North miami!!! I give Tamarindo food five stars ***** but the customer service leaves much to be desired. Recently ordered their chef salad to go and Phillipe was very rude… only to get home and find the salad had no meat or cheese and incorrect dressing. I have had this salad many times and know what it looks and taste like in my sleep. I am obsessed with this salad (and their chicken wings too). When I attempted to resolve the salad issue Phillipe basically (for all intents & purposes) accused me of lying as if i was merely trying to snake a freebie salad from them. The new front counter girl lacks enthusiam, manners and personality. When they are busy, they dont answer phones for takeout orders. Maybe they need to invest in online ordering services for their countless loyal customers like me. I also love their soups, sangria and fish (sea bass). But for now — i have a bad taste in my mouth. The owner did ultimately make good on the order but that Phillipe spoiled my love affair with them for now.

WORST. SERVICE. EVER. As I was waiting to be seated, people would walk out and I’d say «have a good night» and they’d respond «I hope it’s a better night than the one we spent at this restaurant». Our server had the WORST attitude ever. He would argue with us on stuff he wasn’t even right about. Also if you think you’re ordering a small pizza for yourself… don’t. They don’t warn you their «small» pizza can easily feed 2 or 3 people. But don’t even bother ordering their pizza, unless you want to be sick for the next 3 days. Horrible!

We walked in with the best of intentions. Then got served cold supposedly coal fired pizza. It looked crispy but it was soggy. The worst part is that the pizza was not just made. The cheese was not melted. The worst pizza ever had. I told my wife that this place has to be going out of business. They try to make up by giving another pie to take home, so we gave the pizza to a homeless man and he was very happy.

Tamarindo special is the bomb!!! Great food n awesome service… This is a must GO!!!

This place is a hidden gem. We order to go all the time and they never disappoint, always delicious! The inside is nice and the staff is very friendly.

I drive from Fort Lauderdale just for the eggplant Parm appetizer. It’s more than enough for two and the price is fair. I order it for my meal. If you love eggplant and hesitate to order it for fear it will be a bitter soggy cheesy mess, have no fear, theirs is a masterpiece, perfect every time.

My friend is a local realtor, in the 10 days we were in hollywood Fl she guided us to many restaurants that we would have missed us. My wife and I like to eat where locals eat.

I have never been more disappointed with a pizza in my whole life. I don’t know why they call it pizza. There were chunks of cheese with red sauce blobbed all over it. They were so close I wished it was good. I have to say their Italian dishes looked and smelled delicious. Next time I want veal parm I’m going back. They should change their name because pizza is not their specialty in my eye. Snobby City girl here. Still looking for a real slice of NY pizza.

Don’t judge this place by the outside It is in a small strip center but when you enter the door you are in a very quaint and elegant restaurant The service was amazing and the food was off the chain Highly recommend

Tonight I had dinner at one of my favorite restaurants inHallandale. El Tamarindo has a great menu — from pizza to Italian, Cuban, Mexican, you name it. Tonight I had the «Carne Asada» Nicaraguan style steak — with rice and a great salad. My husband had the palomilla steak Parmesan style with rice and Tostones. The food was delicious, and service was very good.

Had the chicken Marsala, good flavor, watered down sauce. The parmesan cheese was extra cheap. And when I got my check… I was changed extra $ 5 for angel hair pasta.
Manager did not care about comments…

This place is your local restaurant that has amazing food. I went on a recommendation almost a year ago and have ordered from there at least once a week for the past few months.
Their food is amazing. I would recommend their steak or chicken burritos. Their grilled chicken is awesome with whatever sides you want.
There prices are reasonable for lunch they their service is quick and attentive. When you are there they treat you like as if you were at a mom and pop place in the heart of a Latin American country.
Despite the exterior, they have a very nice inside. They pay careful attention to detail. Their tables are well dressed and silverware is always clean and meticulously folded and placed.
I would say if you want a local place that provides good service, good food, and all for a reasonable price. Stop in. It’s a cool place to take someone to sway them into trying a place with a rough-​looking exterior and kinda hidden.

Someone dropped off a menu at our office and we decided to try something new. Delicious, courteous staff and we will definitely be coming back! We even got a dessert on the house :) the chicken and fish we ordered melted like butter in our mouths! Can’t wait to come back!
P. s. I ordered some café con leche after lunch and when I asked for more milk on the side he took my coffee back and added hot milk be kr was too strong. They aim to please here and even came out with some wine samplers at the end!

Exceeded my expectations in every way. We order the fried eggplant pizza 14″ which was more then enough for 2 people and tastes great.
We sat at the bar right across from the wood fired oven so we go to see them cook up our 14″ of crispy goodness first hand. Super nice staff that brought ought fresh hot bread and a garlic and oil sauce.
If your looking for an I expensive place to grab so great pizza look no further.

Un de mes restaurants préférés au monde! Les plats sont divers, avec une petite touché cubaine. La spécialité, c’est évidemment la pizza. Mais je choisis quasiment à chaque fois le chicken francese ou le Tamarindo’s Special avec une association terre-​mer au top. Les cuissons et assaisonnements sont parfaits. En accompagnement, je conseille vivement les sweet plantains qui sont un régal! Le service est sympathique et rapide.
