Phuong is the best Vietnamese restaurant in the metroplex. Try the combination hoanh tanh soup(won ton) and the Cornish hen with sautéed rice. Delicious!

Phuong is in the area of Haltom City that has several Vietnamese restaurants. I have been to all the other restaurants in the area and decided to give Phuong a try. I was there at 1130am to order take out. No other customers were in the restaurant. The menu is extensive; there are a lot of choices. I ordered the #50 Charbroiled pork over rice. This is the same dish I get at the other Vietnamese restaurants in the area. The other restaurants slice their pork real thin and then grill it. At Phuong they put the slices of pork on skewers and then grill it. You get big lumps of grilled pork. Not bad, just different. The food was good. My Lan is still my gp to Vietnamese place in the area for grilled pork over rice.

Came here with my coworker who could not stop talking about how fresh and delicious the phở is here. He said it’s his little secret spot where he comes if he’s craving some Vietnamese food. The only catch is that they only accept cash. I didn’t get the phở, but the vermicelli with pork and egg rolls was indeed quite fresh and delicious. The staff is a entirely made up of a cute couple and their daughter. And they are so friendly and helpful, it’s hard to not like the food. I will definitely be back for more!

Great food in a great business! Everything I order is consistently full of flavor and fresh. Phở is 5.99(small size, which is more than enough for me– and I eat a lot) and yummy hu Tieu(packed with seafood, noodles, and other goods!) is around 7 $. At most places, broth outweighs the real content but not here. The owners(family business) are great people and always kind! They also have an extensive menu for all tastes. Never a bad time to eat at Phuong’s.

GOATHOTPOT!!! Don’t forget that this place is CASHONLY!!! I was born in raised in east Texas so all I really have ever known was that good olé east Texas cuisine, BRINGONTHATCHICKENFRIEDSTEAKANDDROWNITGRAVY!!! Before moving out to DFW, I really never knew what authentic Vietnamese food was with the exception of my mom’s cooking, and she’ll even admit that some of her cooking isn’t even authentic. Then, I moved out here back in ’94 and Phoung Restuarant was one of the first Vietnamese restaurants that I ate at. 20 years later, it is still standing and still pretty darn good. If you want some serious authentic Vietnamese dishes, you will definitely find it here. Yes, there are your typical phở, bun(vermicelli), and rice dishes. But when you go here, you have to have the things that you will not see at your typical Vietnamese restaurants. When was the last time that you saw goat hot pot on the menu, or rare beef with lime juice? This place is about the other popular dishes that you will find in Vietnam. They don’t have a 10 – 20 page menu like the big Vietnamese restaurants. This is one of the those places that has a simple menu and they stick with what they do best. My only problem with this place is that it’s all the way in Fort Worth and it’s a 40 – 50 minute drive. So, there is the goat hot pot. We had the goat curry version. It had tender pieces of goat, tofu, some veggies, and slightly thick curry broth. The soup base was just the right amount of heat and spice. This brought out in a pot over a sterno flame. The hot pot is served with vermicelli noodles and an assortment of veggies. We stuffed ourselves silly. We also had the pennywort drink that was made fresh to order. This is one of those whole in the wall type places and is worth checking out. WEWILLBEBACK! I think I kinda miss it already…

Incredible menu with 5 star service to match. It is refreshing to see customer service is not extinct. A must for the family.

Decent Vietnamese food. Very put off by the smell of bug spray and the place could really use some TLC. My Banh Canh(thick rice noodle soup) was good but slightly on the salty side. My fresh squeezed orange juice was delicious though.

Phuong is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Fort Worth. I go at least once a week. The service is great and food comes out fast. They don’t sell alcohol but BYOB is allowed which is even better. The owner will even put your beer in a bucket of ice for you. They have a lot more exotic foods that other restaurants don’t have like goat, hot pot, grilled quails.

Went in on a Sunday morning after a visit to the grocery store on the other side of the parking lot. Smoking was not an issue today. I had the phở and spring rolls. Great prices and probably the friendliest Vietnamese restaurant I have been to. The waitress who said this was her parents’ place even picked basil leaves and squeezed lime in my bowl.

I have been to every Vietnamese restaurant in Fort Worth and this is by far the best. Situated next to the Vietnamese grocery store, they are able to use the freshest and most diverse ingredients daily. Besides the high quality of the food, they also have a strong sense of family. When we left our daughters sippy cup there they saved it and returned it to us several months later when we returned for another family night dinner. For those of you jumping on the Phở bandwagon because you think it makes you look cool, you may want to try something more mainstream. For those of you who enjoy the best Phở, appearances or no, then this is where you need to be.

I’ve been eating at this tiny family owned restaurant ever since I was little with my family. Their food is very authentic and original. homestyle. I love their phở and their ladna(stir fry flat noodles with vegetables and special sauce). We come here every other week because it’s convenient and the owners are nice and friendly. The prices are excellent. They have one of the best phở broth in the metroplex!

In a nutshell… –horrible service –bun cha gio thit nuong(vermicelli w/eggroll & bbq pork): The pork was dry and flavorless. The pork was served in big square chunks when it should’ve been sliced thinly. The pork looked like it had been sitting out all day and night. –hu tieu kho(dried noodles w/seafood): flavorless. My husband always finishes his food and for him to not to that day said a whole lot. It left him with a bad taste in his mouth for a good half of the day. Don’t go here if you’re looking for decent, authentic Vietnamese food.

I tried their banh mi sandwich and thier egg rolls. Both were outstanding! The sandwich had crushed peanuts(which I enjoyed) cilantro, jalapenos, pickled carrots, cucumbers, and garlic mayo I think? all on a crusty outside but SOFT inside baguette? The pork was so tender and juicy. The egg rolls are really good when you wrap them in the lettuce and cilantro they give with them. Then dip them in the sweet chile fish sauce… so good! My order was to go and the women in the front gave me a free drink on the house to sip on while I waited! Not many people will do that. I will be defiantly coming back here with friends.

You seriously cannot go wrong at this place! just close your eyes and point your finger anywhere on their extensive menu and you will find a pot of gold! As jim mentioned in his review, the banh mi ga(chicken liver sandwich) is absolutely outrageous, and at $ 2, this 8″ sub is not to be missed. The beef stew, which is served in an appetiser and a dinner portion will blow your mind with its heartiness and depth of flavor. Of course the phở is always a safe bet. Try the duck soup if you are in the mood for something different. Seriously, IT’S ALLGOOD. Bring cash and a healthy appetite. BYOB with no corkage fee.

Phuong has been a favorite of ours since they opened during the early 1990’s. They are a family run restaurant with Mom and Dad doing the cooking and their daughters handling the dining room. Their recipes, which have been developed over many years, incorporate the flavors of Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. On our visit tonight, we started by sharing a Banh Mi Ga, a chicken liver sausage sandwich on French bread with cucumber, pickled carrot, pickled turnip, cilantro and sliced jalepeno pepper(which my wife always removes before eating) was fresh and delicious. My entrée tonight was Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio, charbroiled pork and egg roll, served over rice vermicelli, lettuce, bean sprouts, cucumber, and more. Served in a large bowl, with the usual accompanying sauce on the side, it made a great meal for a hot summer night. My wife chose combination Mi Xao Don, crispy egg noodles with chicken, pork, seafood and vegetables. Served on a large plate, it resembled a bird’s nest in a pool of sauce, filled with the meat and veggies, more than enough for her. The noodles were crispy, but softened later as they broke off and soaked in the tasty sauce; squid, fish balls and shrimp combined with the pork and chicken, celery, and bok choy rounded out the dish. Phuong’s food is always fresh and the menu contains many specialties beyond the usual phở and bun(also available in numerous varieties), in particular, several hot pots, and many dishes featuring goat. Nearly all of the regional soups of Vietnam are represented, along with many noodle and rice based dishes Look for the special section of the menu for the goat and hot pots; you won’t be disappointed. This restaurant has been favorably reviewed 4 different times by the local newspapers and we have never been disappointed by anything we’ve eaten here. While they do accommodate smokers at the tables along one wall, the rest of the restaurant is non smoking and the ventilation is usually adequate. If you are really sensitive to cigarette smoke, stick with the tables nearest the door and you will probably be ok.

Based on Fort Worth Weekly naming this the best Vietnamese restaurant of 2009, I dropped in here at 2:00PM today for a bowl of phở. I was the only customer at the time. The phở was good – flavorful broth, plenty of noodles and meat. However, there’s a sign on the wall that says«Smoking Permitted,» so this could be an issue. I’m just glad there were no smokers when I was eating!
