Have lived in Hammond about 6 months and have passed by this place several times. Finally had the opportunity to check it out. Very glad I did. Lunch options so often fall into only two categories: «Nasty Fast Food» or «Way Too Expensive». Finding this little local café with REALFOOD prepared with care is a godsend. Can’t wait to try them for breakfast soon. Check out University Donuts for a great lunch special and super friendly staff.

We stopped by this place on our way to Biloxi. I stopped here solely on the Unilocal reviews and I’m glad I did. The people were exceptional. The man running the floor, that I’m assuming was the owner, seemed to really care for this establishment. It really had the feel of home. My kids said it was the best chocolate donuts ever and the sausage gravy biscuits tasted very homemade and delicious. Give it a try!

Love this place! Very family friendly with a great menu for both breakfast and lunch! The donuts are the freshest around. I love that they don’t serve day old donuts! We tend to go here at least once a week :)

We got a to-go breakfast on our way home from New Orleans and weren’t disappointed. They serve up a mean sausage biscuit. The coffee isn’t that great but it’s Community Coffee, so it’s not University Donuts’ fault… that stuff is just nasty. Skip McDonald’s breakfast and head here instead.
