Wow. Awful. Absolutely awful. Service was SUPER slow(and it wasn’t busy) and incompetant, décor is low-quality and not well thought out, food is disappointing(with the exception of the pork lollipops; those were DELICIOUS but super expensive), and drinks were not good. I will not be going back and will dissuade others from making a mistake in going here.

Went here on accident, thought I was going into the restaurant next to it but we stayed anyways. We were one of two tables being served. It was rather quiet and empty for lunch hour. We were greeted warmly and sat immediately. I had the lobster mac and cheese and my mom had the Cuban sandwich. The mac n cheese was good but not great and overpriced. It had a good amount of lobster but for $ 15 I think they could have had 3 – 5 more pieces. Mom’s Cuban was good but it lacked any type of mustard. Service was spotty because he seemed preoccupied even though we were his ONLY table. Probably won’t return. Visited September 2011

Let’s see… where to start: the drinks and service at the bar. Delicious and attentive. Nod to the peach vanilla martini, Terra classic cosmo, and sangria. Ate dinner at another establishment prior to my visit so I never sampled the tapas they offer here. So, can’t vouch for these items. Relatively upscale atmosphere and great live music made a rare night out with the dh that much more pleasurable. Downside: the acoustics of the building made listening to the talented artists a strain on the ears at times. Best seating for enjoying the band: directly in front of the stage. Shout out to the band that played that night(sorry forgot the name) for having me grooving in my seat the whole time they were on. Another downside: Went to Terra’s under the presumption and advertised claim that they would have the fight(Mayweather v. Cotto) on that night; but, for whatever reason the order for the event never processed and the screen that denied their requests stayed displayed on the monitors until someone in our company asked that they at least turn to the bball playoffs. I’d go back again. No hurries though.

Terra-ble. This is not the place for good tapas in Hampton, and I would know because Phoebus is a few exits south, and if you go there, you will find out what good tapas is. My husband and I were on the Peninsula and wanted to try some place new, so we drove to the(fairly) new Towne Centre and decided to start an evening of restaurant hopping at Terra. The first sign that things may not be the greatest was the dress code signage on the front door. Call me crazy, but I’ve never had to go somewhere for dinner that had to tell people how to dress in order to get the right atmosphere going. Hardly anything is unique, original, stellar, thoughtful, exciting, or any other positive exclamation about this place. The menu choices were played out items from your typical appetizer menu. The waitstaff was slow. The restaurant was freezing. We came on a jazz night and the music was so loud! Two things I really liked about Terra: 1) they put cucumber in their water. Crazy that I might mention that, but it was a step in the right direction. 2) The wings we ordered were so great! They had a blackberry-lime sauce on them, and they tasted amazing. This restaurant could probably benefit from narrowing its focus a little more. I joked with my husband that Terra should be renamed to «Wings and Wine»(*name and concept property of me*). If they stuck to improving and expanding their wing selection, they might have something going for them.

Nice looking restaurant but that is where the good dining experience stops. Menu was lackluster and not very appeasing for a so called upscale Tapas restaurant. Our first visit to this place was during Restaurant Week 2012. Waitress had no clue that their restaurant was a participate and had to ask another employee for the special menui. She also had trouble getting the order straight and eventually left our table to get a notepad to write everything down which she should have already had on her person. The food was delivered to our table cold. As far as taste, the food lacked good flavor. Wine list and drink menu choices were limited as well. Our table left disappointed. Glad we tried during restaurant week because we know not to waste our time or money at this place again.

Mixed feelings. I went twice– the first time for Tuesday Tapas, which were fantastic, and then next time for a Saturday lunch, which was just so-so. Maybe its cause we were the only ones there and the kitchen seemed mostly closed so they didn’t have their game face on or something. And it was more expensive. I will probably go again but only on Tuesdays.

Only three stars… I like the place and wanted to give it a higher star value but the stove was not working well and the quality as well as an «alternate» menu was the result. The food that they were offering was smart and tasty. My ham and cheese sandwich was coldish/luke warm. A friend dining with me found his hot and oozing with goodness. I say that to say that the potential for better food could exist it was«hit or miss.» I enjoyed the cheese plate with smoked Gouda, goat with cranberry, and maniscopi with apple and rasberry jams. The plate was served with some crackers and bread(though I had to ask for more). Spinach and Artichoke Dip-hot and fresh! Firecracker Shrimp– over cooked. 3 Dips and Tortilla(pineapple salsa-eh, guacamole-very nice!, and regular salsa-eh). Chili– above average. The place was set up for a jazz band though they weren’t schedule to play until much later in the evening. I made reservations to sit in the couch area– a cozy area near the window surrounded by a curtain. I prefer this space because its cozy and intimate as well as comfortable. Anyway… my two sense… i have a great coupon to visit again, but I just hope my «hit or miss» moment is more of a hit and less of a miss. Thanks

Food and drinks are definitely unremarkable… a few hits and misses. The only thing I like is their location and the weekend jazz band.

We hadn’t been to the new Town Center yet and decided to make Terra our first dinner there. Going in, I was surprised it wasn’t more crowded on a Saturday night. But overall, the atmosphere was very nice– we ended up eating on a couch, which was comfy and fun. I like the modern feel of the décor and the tapas-style menu even though the tapas choices seemed limited. As far as the food, there were definite high points and low points. The vegetarian flatbread was very good even though the flavors have become somewhat common, the spinach dip was better than most, and the greens with our pork dish were excellent. But, in low points, we quickly discovered not all food is freshly made when our lobster mac & cheese came out stone cold. And to add insult to injury, instead of getting a fresh one, we got the same bowl back piping hot just a couple minutes later, so I guess it got microwaved! Also, the crab dip we ordered«was not being made» that night… Guess they ran out of crab? Our service was outstanding throughout, though, which made for a pleasant night at least. And I think we got a pretty good value and variety of food for what we paid. Overall our dinner was okay, but I wouldn’t rush back. And the next time we decided to go, based on the crowds tonight, I’m not sure Terra would still be there.

Really great food/value and comfortable atmosphere. The owner even came by the table and made us feel as if we were the most important clients at that moment. I will be going back.

This place is great and gives me hope for Hampton. We had excellent service. The small plate format was excellent because we got to try multiple items. Each dish was delicious and beautifully presented. I will definitely go back. Great interior design too. Excellent martini recipes. We were a group of 6 and all loved this restaurant.

I went here on a Saturday night, around 10:00. They had a jazz band playing, which was nice. I talked to one of the band guys and he offered me a sip of his Cristal… lol. The atmosphere is classy/upscale and feels almost like a lounge. There is a dress code posted on the door. The clientele is older and better dressed than the usual 20-something jeans crowd I see at most bars. I only had a Diet Coke, but my friend got a flatbread which looked tasty. The bartender was great about refilling my drink and she seemed super knowledgable about the menu. I’m usually not a big fan of tapas(a.k.a. overpriced snacks), but I would come back during the week when they have specials running, like Ladies’ Night and $ 5 Tapas.

I can’t really comment on the food, as I made special lunch arrangements to meet a friend based on the hours posted ALL over the web(google places, website, Unilocal, etc). Sadly, they are not open at lunch, so we ended up eating somewhere far less interesting. It is not difficult to post your REAL hours on your own website!
