The samples handed out by Kauai Nut Roasters puts those forced on Costco customers to shame. More than two dozen varieties of mac nuts, pecans, walnuts and almonds are there for the taking. Sure, some people abuse it. But it was great for me. I bought bags of almonds with pineapple and li hing mui powder and toffee crunch pecans and peanuts based upon the tastings. I would have never tried them taste unseen. They were wonderful. And the store’s workers were friendly.

These roasted nuts are soooo delicious! If in Hanalei you must stop by and try some tasty samples that they give generously. These make great gifts too.

I think they are nice, but for my taste the nuts were very fancy. coated in all sorts of flavors. I think that’s probably what makes them delicious to others, but to me I enjoy the nuts for their own flavor, not the sugar-candy flavor most got. But again– that is my take on what I learned. This place smells awesome, they generously let you try before you buy, and there are some delicious varieties.

Took us a little while to find them. They are behind the chicken in a barrel. When you walk I you can taste test many of the nuts and they are delicious! We went with the pineapple because they stood out as the best!

yes, FREE samples! Yay! And there’s lots of flavors to choose from & to try! And yes, I kinda embarrassed myself by trying a number of them! Use the Unilocal deal & bought 3 small bags to bring home. What a deal! The shop is a little hidden in the back behind a chicken BBQ place, but almost as soon as you turn the corner, you’ll smell the yummy scents of sweet nuts. Go check it out & see if YOU can eat only one!

I walked by and the smell of their roasted nuts pulled me in. So many nuts to sample and they are all so delicious! We ended up spending a lot of money here. But well worth it — both as gifts for friends and family and a delicious treat for ourselves. I’d definitely recommend coming here if you want a unique and tasty gift to bring back home.

I couldn’t come back from Kauai without souvenirs. While I do always get the typical chocolate covered macadamia nuts, I wanted to get something special for my family. My nose and Unilocal app led me to Kauai Nut Roasters. Seriously, you can find it based on the amazing mouth watering aroma that is streaming outside this place and into the parking lot. I walked in and saw jars of nuts. All sorts of flavors macadamia, almonds, peanuts, cashews, etc. They were coated with yummy pineapple, dried berries, spices, chocolate, etc. They have everything imaginable and beyond. Oh and there are samples too? Well that was a bad idea on my behalf because I wanted them all. I dare you to try them and not buy some. The Unilocal deal was the cherry on top. It was such a good deal that one must never pass up. The guy working here was so friendly and genuine too. My family loved their unique gifts. I recommend everyone to get some gifts from here for a sure hit.

My husband and I visited 2 locations while in Kauai; one in Kilauea and the other in Hanalei. The Hanalei location appeared to be also a small production facility connected to the retail shop. Both offered an overwhelmingly awesome array of nuts to taste, though the Hanalei location had more, and no one at either store made us feel bad for trying as many samples as we wanted! I don’t know what Li Hing Mui is, but it’s sweet and savory on whatever nuts it coats! Great for gifts and/or your own consumption. Get the Unilocal deal beforehand to spend $ 15, which will get you a couple of regular-sized bags of specialty nuts. Given where we were(on a Hawaiian island), I opted for macadamias, but my husband picked out some tasty almonds. They take online orders, which it may be tempted to take them up on someday since we live in California.

This place was awesome! The nuts are great! You get to taste a lot of different ones before you commit to buying a bag. The bags are $ 11 for 7.5 oz. or $ 6 for a smaller size. They are made right there in house and you can watch them mixing from the window. We bought about 6 or 7 bags they were so yummy!

The roasted nuts are delicious, in large part because roasted nuts are pretty much always delicious. The nice thing about this place is that they provide nutritional information, so you know how much sugar and salt and other things are added, and can make a healthy choice(if you want to). It is also very fun to sample. If you are in Kauai/Hanalei on vacation, this is a great place to get gifts for back home.

I’m sitting here eating the Coco Crunch Almond Butter out of the jar with my fingers, it’s just too dang delicious! The guy, Roger, I think his name was, the one with the ponytail in Hanalei, was extremely friendly and didn’t pressure me into purchasing anything. Although I’m a poor traveler, I decided KNR is something I want to(try) to take with me back home. Must try! Don’t miss out! Visit the Hanalei location! YUM

Good selection of Mac nuts here. I really enjoyed the coconut crunch. Also there are free samples of everything so it’s a good place to stop by for a snack! Got the Unilocal deal and saved $ 5 which is always a plus and staff is super friendly.

Everything is a bit pricey but the coconut almond butter was well worth it to me. I wish I could have bought more to bring home.

Good selection of nuts and a lot of different samples but a bit expensive. Definitely worth stopping by if you’re near here and like nuts.

While visiting this shopping center for shaved ice, I noticed an incredible smell. We decided to walk in and give them a browse. They have a counter if samples and each one we tried was amazing and unique. I realized there was a Unilocal deal and snatched up a couple bags. The workers were friendly and exuded the aloha spirit. This is a great place to grab some gifts to take home for loved ones.

Pricey, but so totally worth it. I am crazy about these nuts(and they ship to the mainland, so all my nut needs are met now). So let me tell you a story about how Kauai Nut Roasters and I met years ago — Hanalei is one of my most favorite places to visit when I’m on island, and they used to have a storefront across the street from where they are now. I bought nuts there, and ate them once I got back to the mainland and got obsessed. When I asked my mom to bring them back when she visited later, she didn’t know what I was talking about and I thought that I was crazy and had just imagined up delicious nuts(sorry, I’m trying to see how many times I can fit the word«nut» in this review so I can giggle later). Cut to years later, like this past March, and I rediscover the nut company that I’ve been dreaming about has a storefront in Koloa Town now! I bought the honey almonds and the Kona coffee mix of pecans and mac nuts. Both were crazy good. You really can’t go wrong with any of the options. They’re all good, and all worth it!

Super tasty roasted nuts. As others have mentioned, right inside the entrance to the shop there’s a row of jars containing samples of maybe twenty nut varieties, free for the taking. We were tempted, as I’m sure many are, to just eat our fill and then wander off. :-) The nuts are pricey but delicious. After we bought and ate a bunch, we went grocery shopping in Princeville and bought some Mauna Loa brand macadamias because they were super cheap compared to what they’d cost on the mainland, and compared to Kauai Nut Roasters’ nuts. Mistake — after eating Kauai Nut Roasters’ nuts the Mauna Loa nuts tasted flat and one-note. You’ll leave this place happy but poorer. :-)

Tucked away and not immediately obvious when browsing through Ching Young Village, but believe me, it is worth seeking out. First of all, these guys know what they are doing by putting out seemingly endless rows of jars filled with a mind-numbing variety of nuts. You would think that this strategy would shortly have them eaten out of house and home, but after a good 5 minutes sampling the goods, there’s no way you can leave without buying a bag(or two… or three!). Their variety is so diverse that there is bound to be something perfect for every palate, so I would definitely make it a point of seeking this place out when you’re in Hanalei!

So many free samples of nuts, so little time. While this is enough to illicit 5 stars(cha-bang!), there’s more. So much more. The staff are friendly as can be. The nuts, while mostly sweet, also cover some delicious savory options. There’s new and interesting flavors rotating through. Where else are you going to get lilikoi on a nut? That check-in deal. Shweeeeeet. The perfect snack before, during, and after the Kalalau Trail.

Did the $ 5 for $ 10 deal, which definitely helps as deez nuts are pricey. Nice that you can sample everything, and they had a lot of good ones. We went with the Coconut Crunch but also liked the Kona, Butterscotch, and Li Hing Mui. A snotty patron(not staff, they were really nice) made a crack about us trying too many samples, but what can I say? I love eating nuts. On that note, the entrance is in the rear; go all the way around the building behind Chicken in a Barrel.
