I’m very sad, I have been shopping here weekly for years. Went yesterday on ²⁄₇ and the store has been closed down, out of business I will miss shopping here every week. They had great bargins, very friendly staff and the best quality ground beef, chicken and beef beef fajitas mix out of all the stores and major stores around the Hanover Park area and at $ 2.99 a lb most of the time it was on sale. No fat, no water it and it taste like real ground beef. I am very Sorry to see this place go.

Very upsetting. It is frigid today but we need food so we decided to get steak.
Saw an advertisement special for one kind of steak so ordered that along with other sides.
Came home only to find they had overcharged (about $ 2 per lb).
I try to support this place but this is not their first «mistake.» It happened a couple times in the past. I’m starting to be fed up– deliberate overcharging? Dishonesty thinking customer won’t notice?
The error won’t show on receipt. In fact, sticker price will match receipt. It’s the sticker price with incorrect charge per pound inside the total price. Hard to explain but some dudes in the meat department is not doing their job honestly. :(
We weren’t going to let them get away with it this time. Had to drive back to get this price fixed. No apology from them. Don’t want to return to this specific store anymore but we also don’t want this place to close so hopefully the review can help clean up their actt.

Store review:
Cheap produce is what sums up your experience at this local grocery store. On a recent visit we left empty handed because the sale item was not available and when we asked one of the grocers he indicated that the shipment was bad and maybe they would have more later that day. I questions whether they were going to have any at all because the sale was already going on for the 4^th day. Quality of produce is average. You have to check to make sure your items are not just gov inspected if that bothers you. Otherwise the sales are tough to beat at any one store. I still prefer the larger grocery stores such as mariano or tony’s finer food. On the plus side there is a taqueria where you can get 1.25 tacos. I did not try this, but it looks good.
Pros: cheap produce, weekly sales
Cons: average quality, some items not in stock

They have some great deals here if you buy in bulk and pay attention to the specials. For instance, this week you can get 4 dozen eggs for $ 5. Not bad, for us guys who are trying to bulk up and need to eat a lot. The produce section also has some decent buys. The meat looked okay, with the exception of the purple looking chicken. Not too crazy about that.

I am giving this place props for two things. One, the authentic, already-​made carnitas meat in the deli. Buy it by the pound, take it home and serve up a dinner party! Two, the bakery is pretty cool. Not a huge selection, but good enough to kill two birds with one stone and not have to make a second stop elsewhere.

OK grocery store, but I think I like the one in West Chicago better. They have a better selection of tamales.

this place has it all Fresh Produce a full Butcher Meats and Seafood, plus fresh cheese and creams, also cooked food in bulk, they have all the meats to make Tacos and what not already marinated just need to take home and cook
I came here and got some Bananas .33 a Lb and a couple apples, then the other day I wanted to make Tequila Lime Chicken, and limes at Ultra were 2 for $ 1 I was like oh hell no! Limes are 15 for $ 1 here
also they have a Taqueria in the back they had a special on Tortas last week Pastor Torta and a soda for $ 3.50 you can’t beat that price I don’t care were you go
but the same as any other thing you need to know your prices as you can get bottles of Mexi Coke for less at Ultra foods

Nice Mexican grocery store with an excellent butcher at great prices. Stopped in here Saturday to pick up meat and spices for several mexican dishes I was making over the weekend. Skirt Steak at 3 bucks a pound was a steal. Pork Shoulder at 1.50 not a deal but fair priced. A massive selection of peppers and other spices. The pastries were good (flan, yum!)
Produce left a bit to be desired but love buying limes at 20 for a dollar versus 3 for a dollar at the chain stores.

I walked in and a clown was making balloon animals, a huge section of fresh baked Mexican pastries were in front of me and out of the corner of my eye I spy a taqueria… jackpot!
If you find yourself in the burbs or you happen to live nearby then get to Jimenez for cheap produce, great ethnic offerings and fair prices.
