Hanover House of Pizza

I highly recommend this place… the best pizza and the subs are amazing. the service is extraordinary plus they have the best calzon you can ever try.

Called in an order for a large group, pizzas were great. One order was a wrap and it was completely wrong so I brought it back, the young lady at the register had an awful attitude and rolled her eyes at me multiple times. She had remade my wrap and dropped half of it on the floor. She proceeded to go get a new wrap and attempted to take the food that fell on the floor and put it in a new a wrap. I asked her what she was doing and called her out on what she was doing, she proceeded to give me attitude and roll her eyes at me. I told her that was completely unsanitary and disgusting. The owner came to he front and the young lady lied about what she was doing, I politely asked for my money back and left.

I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Awful customer service, bad pizza. We placed an online delivery order which said the food would arrive in 30 minutes. After an hour l, I called to see if the order had even left yet and the woman said «he was leaving right now». I pointed out that it had been double the time that was originally quoted, and she said that the website shouldn’t have quoted 30 minutes on a Friday afternoon. I’m sorry, but that does not make it ok that your website is quoting incorrect wait times. We would have gladly picked it up if we had known it would take that long. The worst part is that we had to call another half an hour later when the food STILL hadn’t arrived. The woman on the line said that he had left a while ago and didn’t know why he wasn’t there yet. So at this point, it’s now been triple the wait time, and this lady did not offer to do one thing for us… I don’t know, a free pizza maybe, a gift card for next time? Nothing! An hour and a half later, our pizzas showed up, cold and practically inedible. I would NEVER order from that place again. Awful. I understand that things happen, but how you deal with these things is what shows the kind of business you operate, and clearly these people just don’t care.

We have lived in Hanover for over thirty years, and used to frequent HHOP often for what we considered the best pizza for miles around, and tasty toasted subs. The pizza crust was crispy where it should be, and chewy on the edges; the toppings were fresh and bountiful. The couple who owned the place cared, and their children learned the business working with them. I don’t know what the hell has happened to this place in recent years. The pizza is just plain awful — flimsy crust, stingy toppings, and an «I couldn’t care less about your business» attitude. I believe it’s still in the family, but the new generation has no idea about quality or customer service. As for the other reviewers’ comments about unhygienic practices, I haven’t seen it myself but after reading it and believing it — HHOP is off my list for good.

I won’t be ordering from this place again.
The girl who answered the phone didn’t seem capable of taking my order. She finally read it back to me correctly, but it was still wrong when it arrived.
They put my cold turkey sub (which was missing lettuce) in the same bag with a hot calzone making it a disgusting temperature by the time it arrived.
Delivery guy forgot my soda. He did offer to go get it, but the calzone would have been cold by the time he got back so what’s the point.
With some proper management this place could be decent, but until then I would take your money elsewhere.

Pro: The people were so friendly.
Cons: Handling food with your hands /​Messing up orders completely .
I ordered boneless buffalo tenders — got plain wing dings instead. no big deal.
But when I was there, I watched a girl put her hair up, touch her face, cough in her hand and then handle a bun. I had to ask for another bun. Someone else washed their hands and then handled the bun and food without gloves.
I wasn’t in the mood, so I paid and gave the food to a homeless man down the street.
Maybe the food tastes good, but if food isn’t handled properly in the open kitchen area I can’t imagine what they do behind the scenes.

It’s got a fine location for many neighborhoods and the prices are very fair.
Only complaint is the wait… more than once have I called in my order, was told 20 minutes, only to come into the shop and see the meat still on the grill. It wasn’t busy at all, and two of the employees were sitting playing with their cell phones.
Cant quite figure out their lack of urgency… Ill still go there, but NEVER go and wait. Order by phone, or you’ll go insane watching them do nothing…

Quoted 15 – 20 minutes… over an hour. no APOLOGY. And… COLD FOOD. Even in the thermal!!! could of cared less attitude on the phone. the driver was very polite. plenty of other business s that actually care about customer service on the south shore… I will be sure to let my clients know !!! extremely dissatisfied

My family and I have been ordering out from HHOP for years and have always had a great experience… until new owners took control. The first time I’ve ordered recently I used the new online system, received a confirmation, and went to the store only to find it CLOSED. Thankfully, I chose a ‘pay later’ option and was not charged. I did not receive an apology phone call for nearly three days after the fact. The second time I placed another order online and received confirmation it would be ready in 15 – 20 minutes. I left to get it and, upon arrival, was informed that they had ‘never received my order’ and would make it right away. I got two small pizzas and a large chicken wings– their wings have been my local favorite for a very long time too. They offered me a large soda or chip at no extra charge for the inconvenience and were very apologetic which I thought was a good move on their part. They finished the order in 15 minutes but, when I got it home and opened the pizza, the entire thing was burnt and rancid looking. Our cheese pizza was brown, nearly black, on top. Our hamburg and onion pizza tasted as if the hamburg was expired and gave everyone who ate it an upset stomach. I am so sad to say that as long as these incompetent owners are in charge, HHOP will do nothing but lose business.

The Chicken Alfredo Calzone is AMAZING! It is the best calzone I’ve ever had. Also the Buffalo Chicken Calzone was good too.

We ordered a small veggie pizza and there was rotten green peppers that was sour on it. Tasted terrible… and it took then 40 plus minutes to deliver it. Called them about it and received no apology. Not cool.

I went to Hanover House of Pizza since it opened in 1974. Loved the place! Since the new owners have taken over I will not go back ever again. I’ve been twice since the new owners took over and both times were major disappointments. The pizza is horrible now. It has no crust and they are skimping on the toppings. The second time I went back and ordered two slices it looked like they had been sitting there since the day before. The people behind the counter who were employees with the previous owners try hard but the new owners don’t have a clue. Plus the place is dirty. Both times I went back under new ownership the tables were cover with remnants from the previous customers. It was a nice 39 year run but I will not be going back to HHoP again. It’s a shame this place took a nose dive in quality and service…

Love the pizza and the salads here. I recommend having a salad with chicken salad ontop, the chicken salad was tender and very delicious.

I live right down the street so I have given them a number of chances. I went recently and asked for two slices. I got to nasty burnt pieces, no crust and no flavor. The people are grimy. Not worth your time or money.

Tasty Greek pizza. I actually prefer to eat it at room temperature. Interesting flavors.

My family and I have been going there for years, the staff is very friendly and the service is quick. The portions are huuuge and the prices are fair! We love this place its our go-​to spot! Even at their busiest when the line’s out the door they hustle! And take your order with a smile! The food is deliiiiiciouss! Go to ‘HHOP’!

everytime you place a phone order you better have them re-​read ur order back twice even if you order two subs they cant put mayo on one sub an mayo an ketchup on the other with out rushing you off the phone
