Honestly, after the other BBQ joint I tried in town, I did not have high expectations. I got here and the venue itself was pretty awesome. It’s got a bar, country music playing, plenty of tables and booths to sit at. For a second I felt like I was back in Texas. It’s located in a pretty easy place to find and street parking up and down. Service was a bit slow, only had 2 servers(bartender included) during dinner time, but I wasn’t in any rush. There was actually a decent sized crowd, mostly at the bar, but young 20−30s. I ordered the Texas brisket platter with the mango habanero sauce and a Carolina sauce, both interesting and I like interesting. Not as spicy as they led on but I wouldn’t expect it to be exploding hot because they must cater to the average client. The brisket was tender! The amount they gave me was a bit underwhelming. Again, I am probably spoiled by the big portions of Texas. The BBQ chips were pretty darn good, would have been perfect if they came out warm rather than cold. The cream corn was okay, it was definitely sweet. I also got the potato skins which were a bit undercooked. The pulled pork was bland and the entire thing was slightly under seasoned, but luckily they had some BBQ sauce on the table and they did the trick. Maybe that was that was how I was suppose to eat it in the first place?! It also had bacon which I didn’t see anywhere and cheese on it. Overall, I was much more pleased with this venue than the last one I tried. The price was a bit over priced for the portions I received, but the Unilocal coupon helped offset by $ 5. My entire meal of an appetizer and brisket cost $ 22 without tip. I would definitely come back.

The service was good. We were greeted right away and the staff was really knowledgable. They made good recommendations and helped us pick out what was best for us on the menus. I had the beef brisket and there was no way it was made fresh. Most likely it was made several days ago and then heated up to serve. I know fresh brisket. There is a place in Carlisle that serves it and it melts in your mouth. My dish tasted like it was fresh two days ago, I brought it home and the nuked it in the microwave. My recommendation to ownership is to make it fresh, limit quantity… if you run out then you run out. That is not always a bad thing. I would return agains because of the good service, clean area and slightly below average food. I wish I could give a ½ star more but Unilocal doesn’t allow it.

Here we go… Wings: hard, hardly warm and didn’t taste fresh. These were the $.50 wings special. Now I know why. Steak & crab cake special: steak not hot either; seemed like it was sitting out for a while. Crab cake, cold. Ribs: not too bad but lots of fat and very pink. All the ribs I have before were cooked and fell off the bone, the good ones. The cornbread: at least this should be good. The waitress brought us extra, trying to make up for the bad food. Again, all 3 pcs, cold and taste grainy as if from the box. The only good think on this menu were the sweet potatoe tots. Our waitress was good and accommodating but the chef was not awake on Mother’s day. Disappointed.

This place was awful. I had been wanting to go for weeks, so we went on a Saturday night. It was pretty dead. Then we ordered way too much food, wanting to try everything. It was awful. I ended up also getting horribly sick that night. :(Its a shame too, because some of the sauces were amazing. If only they had better food to serve with those amazing sauces.

Today is the first time in my life I got nauseous eating at a restaurant. We had the worst bbq we have ever had and we love BBQ. I ordered the brisket and it was all fat, to the point where my fork sank right through the fat. I told the waitress I couldn’t eat it. She brought pulled pork instead. I tried to eat the pork but couldn’t do it. I don’t know what this was seasoned with but it and the little bit of food I had made me feel like I was going to throw up. I ran to the bathroom. Anyway, the BBQ sauce was literally solid like jello and the food itself was cold. The restaurant was dirty and smelled bad, more so as you got closer to the kitchen, not like food, but the smell itself was compounding the nausea. Shouldn’t a kitchen smell like food?!? We left our uneaten meals on the table. The waitress was very nice and I felt bad since it wasn’t her fault. Zero stars if I could. Please go anywhere but here.

This place is absolutely delicious! They have about ten bbq flavored to choose from and each one I tried is amazing! The beef brisket I could eat every day. The portions are also very large. If you leave this place hungry, then I would be in shock. This place also has drinks and is very large. Would be a great locations for a work get together.

Words cannot describe my love for this place. First, the friendly staff will escort you to the table/bar with a smile. They always have some drink specials so I’d make sure to take advantage of it. I’ve tried couple things from mo mo’s, but I think their smoked wings are top notch. As you bite into the meaty wing, your tastebuds will experience the delicate scent of the smoke, the sweet tangy flavor of the sauce, and the natural flavor from the chicken. I think for sauce, stick with the mild or Carolina pig pickin’. You will not be disappointed with this place. Young or old, poor or rich, do your self a favor by stopping into this place to experience the finest bbq in the east coast.

OMG, where exactly do I start? Ok, how about why they even got the two stars. They have a couple of decent Bartenders! That gets them one star. The second star comes from a small but decent selection of brews, gets them the second star. But, Alas, that’s were it ends, my friend! Now we move onto the«where do I start, bit»! Okay, the BBQ isn’t terrible but, it isn’t good either! Dry and lacking flavor of its own leaves it in dire need of a sauce which, luckily, they have a very nice variety… but, in my book, good BBQ doesn’t need a sauce, that’s just am extra bonus! You want for good BBQ, see Famous BBQ and Burgers or, Camp Curtain BBQ or, even Ice Cream Heaven… just, not this place! Next, rest of the staff and managememt, well… it is what it is. Finally, the customers(of course, this is just my opinion), lunch time it’s ok but happy hour on Friday… a mix of decent, fun loving folks and pissy drunk thug-like characters… I kept an eye on my back, sides and all areas in order to avoid a sneak attack from some jackass that was throwing out racial slurs against white people(yes, that happens too) and took offense to me politely(yes, I was, as always, extremely polite and respectful) challenging one of the digs he tossed out there. In the end, it is your call, you need to make up ypur own mind, feel free to «experience«all, that MoMo’s has to offer but, if I were you… I’d go elsewhere! –Marc

Wow. My fiancé and I accidentally discovered MoMo’s the other day, and I’m glad we did. We were in on a Sunday afternoon when business was slow, but once we finally got a waiter’s attention, he was excellent, explaining to us all the different intricacies of their menus, as well as describing the different sauces and sides. I had a half rack of ribs with mac ‘n cheese, fries, and cornbread, my fiancé had the pulled pork platter with the same sides. The dry rub on the ribs was excellent in and of itself and could stand alone without sauce, but the multitude of different styles and varieties of sauces provided for different pairings for people who do prefer their ribs«wet.» I ended up with the«Texas Tangy» sauce and I loved it, my fiancé ended up with their house sauce and was really happy with it. The fries were crispy hand-cut fries that were excellent, and the mac and cheese was AMAZING. Price for these two entrees and sodas wasn’t even that bad. Like I said, I’m so glad we discovered Momo’s, I wouldn’t hesitate to say it’s the best barbecue I’ve had in Central PA, and we will almost certainly be back!

I loved the options in both drinks and sauces for their BBQ. I got the brisket + ribs and also got the sliders. Oh my gosh, get those sliders!!! I loved the brisket and the pulled pork ones. If you can, try to try all the sauces. We had an awesome waitress who was able to give me a glimpse at all the sauces. Be prepared for big portion sizes. One thing though I did notice my ribs were super dry… giving this place a 4 because our waitress was freaking awesome. Not sure if I would go again since I’ve had BBQ at the original BBQ and their ribs were so soft. I’ll have to go again and try to see if it was just that day since both my SO’s and mine were dry. Try the brisket though!!!

A nice surprise for the drive. They happily took my Unilocal coupon and was always smile on their face. This place is downtown, not hard to find and your nose will help you if you get lost. I walked around the back and a smoker was going with strong, robust and delicious smells. The insides were clean, pleasant and a great place to have a few drinks. I ordered the boss Hogg with three different sauces on the side. When It arrived I was pleased to find a large platter put in front of me with various meats. After trying the various sauces I had I ended up with the Applebutter. It was a very delicious sauce with a nice warming bite. The brisket was almost to the point where it would melt in my mouth, strong flavor and be highlight of my platter. The ribs were a bit well done on the outside. While the bark may have been a thin layer of char, even the sauces couldn’t help recover this somewhat over done rib. As you can see from the photo they were pretty black on the outside. Overall not a bad meal.

Happy to say that the sides have really improved! Sweet potato tots were really good, and the homemade chips and slaw rock. This place is really great. The Alabama white sauce on the smoked wings is just unreal. Could win competitions. Ribs are always excellent here and really nice sauces. If you like BBQ — it’s a MUSTDO if you’re local!

The quality of barbecue options in Harrisburg has really dramatically improved in the last couple years. Momo’s is definitely a part of that. Cornbread is good but very Yankee sweetness-wise. Alabama White is the must have sauce. The ½lb of brisket is always glorious. I would love them forever if they’d add corn fritters as a side options. Dinner is the time to go, it’s consistently quiet and I’ve always gotten great service. Lunch is a little crazy at times.

The creamed corn side dish is a must: they do it differently from any other place by using condense milk to boost the corn flavor really well. The good news is you don’t have to go all the way to Pittsburgh to get spectacular BBQ, or Texas of course. MoMo’s BBQ& Grill will satisfy your meat cravings.

Been here several times, and the food is good and reasonably priced. Large area. Lots of foreign beers, and beers on tap. Booths and high top tables. TVs. A group of 20 was dining in the upstairs room.

Great food, nice staff, good selection of beers on tap. We tried this place after finding a Groupon offer for it. We were able to get a little bit of everything and try a few sauces as well. Their house sauce is delicious. Sweet, a little tang, doesn’t overpower the food it’s on. We tried a few others, my favorite being their Berry Berry Sauce. It was a mix of 4 berries with some cayenne for kick. Sweet without too much heat. The ribs were excellent. Fall off the bone with the right amount of char. The pulled pork and brisket were delicious as well. The wings seemed to be grilled and the char added a level of flavor to them. My favorite sides had to be the baked beans, Mac and cheese, and vinegar slaw. We will definitely be going back.

Well the best thing I ate here tonight was the chocolate chip bread pudding… it is pretty hard to mess up anything chocolate chip! Let’s just say I’m glad I had a groupon at least. The brisket was super dry, do not recommend! Pull pork was slightly better. Cornbread was bad too, which I didn’t think was possible as I normally love any cornbread! Mac and cheese was ok, and baked beans adequate at best. Service was weird. She was nice but seems to forget easily and get things mixed up/confused. Overall unless you are staying downtown(we are staying at the Hilton down the street) and absolutely want BBQ for a meal, I would rather get a burger at all the pubs nearby! Skip the dry meat here.

Its been a year and half since I last visited and its still just a terrible as the first time. We sat at table near the bar and the male bartender(who I swear was my server last time) came over to take our drink order and we also ordered our food at the same time. The food came out pronto and was pipping hot(thank you kitchen crew and expos), but our drinks where no where to be found. So I went over to the bar and waited patiently while a female bartender, who was in the weeds, got me our drinks. I took them back to our table. Then the male bartender, who thought he as being cute, verbally insulted me twice. I know not everyone has the same type of humor, but even my friend thought he was rude and was surprised that I was able to let it go. What can I say? Oh right, «DON“T EVERGOTOTHISRESTAURANT!»
