New to Harrisburg, I was thrilled to discover Shag! The staff is great, the setting is intimate, and all were accommodating. Bill did an amazing job restyling what I thought required only a trim! I feel like a new woman! I highly recommend Shag, especially if your goal is to revitalize your look!

OMG BILL!!! YAY! He cut 15″ off of my hair and it looks amazing! :) I am so happy. Good job! I will be back! They were able to fit me in that day!

I went with my mom here recently, as she got a haircut days before my wedding. I was impressed with the flexibility of the front desk associate to schedule with short notice, as well as her commitment to accommodate a crowded waiting room.
I didn’t get a chance to try one of the cocktails, as I felt awkward asking for a martini when offered a drink. I’m sure it wouldn’t have been a big deal, as the staff seems very approachable and friendly.
Sometimes, with short hair, there’s a settling in period of a week or so that you want to wait before your hair looks «right» leading up to an event. My mom’s cut from Shag was wedding-​ready out of the salon. I’d like to buy her a gift certificate to return, as she received plenty of compliments on her cute do.
Note that parking is a little wacky nearby; I wasn’t prepared to back into a spot during rush hour, so I was glad to arrive a few minutes early to drive around the block.

I stumbled on to Shag looking for a hair salon that was going to get me a up to date style in less than up to date Harrisburg PA. Bill and his staff are great. I asked for a consultation before we got to work and brought the photos he requested on what I was looking for. That’s important, folks. How you describe something and what a stylist would describe something as might be two totally different things. I got exactly what I wanted for an *extremely* reasonable price and will be happily going back.

Real nice guy, but I think he loves to cut hair short. He cut my long hair way shorter than I would like, with tons of short layers. Maybe it was my fault, since I didn’t tell him exactly what I wanted. The plus side is he works very fast, so you’ll be in and out in no time.

What a great place! I got a great cut at a great price. Everyone was super friendly. I really liked that products were not pushed on me. I will definitely go back.

Since I moved to PA I have been in search of a place just like this. Bill rocks. I love love love my hair. It had grown out to my shoulders, I had bleached it repeatedly, it was totally damaged and for a lack of a better description it was piss yellow. Bill took my hair from crap to absolutely fantastic. I got a rockin cut and the color is beautiful. I am back to a dark brown *yay* and it didn’t wash out which usually happens since my hair is naturally blonde. My husband says my hair looks like Lady GaGa’s which is a huge compliment considering I love her and I do not like that «normal» type of cut where I blend in with society. I just think when you have as many tattoos as I do if you go looking all normal its a waste. Plus I like getting weird looks from old people.
Oh and did I mention they serve Martinis and Beer!!! Heck yeah! I mean they have other stuff too but who cares about that! It is totally relaxing to be there. Bill has the best personality and is a lover of Florida. which as a sun shine state native gives me the warm and fuzzies. I will be going to Shag for everything hair until I relocate next year.
The price. you get what you pay for. If you are the type that goes to Super Cuts for haircuts and buys your hair dye from Wal-​Mart you may be a little shocked at the pricing. HOWEVER. if you actually care about your hair’s health and appearance and you have been to a real salon (I’m not talking about some super chain that takes beauty school rejects) then you will see that the prices are pretty low. Back in Texas I used to pay on average around $ 150 every 6 weeks or so for a trim and color touch up. at Shag I got a cut, a treatment, and full color for only $ 110. Amazing!!!
